I am not rich so I alomost always do my own blowdry unless I am going to a special ocassion as I was doing tonight. I made an online appt. I had asked in the notes if she could do rollers but if she couldn't and had emailed, texted or called me, I would ave been ok without rollers. She cancelled it with no explanation less than 24 hours before the appt. I asked via email why it was caancelled. No response. So I called and I didn't recognize the person at the other end of the phone.She said she cancelled because I was rude and promised her to send her people form my hometown in Texas! I had no idea what she was talking about and told her I am from Brooklyn, NY and grew up in the projects. She insisted I was that person. I was so shocked. She went on. about this other person and as I tried to calmly explain she had me confused and there are other people with the same name in this area and she hung up on me. So i texted her my photos hoping she would realize she had me mixed up but she then accused me of being entitled! So my suggestion, if you do decide to go to Renee, take photos of the both of you with her smiling as she was the entire time I was there. Oh and she also said she doesn't like one-time customers so don't go there for a special occasion or a treat once a year. She had more entitled accusations made at me accusing me of being entitled because I requested rollers! I am so disappointed because the person I met was so amazing. Perhaps I also mixed her up with the wrong person. Notice there are no reviews here since 2024.

This was my first time getting this treatment done and my hair is so silky and lightweight that every time I run my hands through my hair I want to cry out of happiness. Melanie is also very knowledgeable about the type of products that you need to avoid if you want your Brazilian blowout to last, and I had talked with a lot of different hair stylists who told me that I could use any shampoo and conditioner as long as they are sulfate free. I hope I can maintain the healthy hair look for a couple of months! I will definitely be returning for another round in a couple of months.

She even rescheduled my initial appointment when I needed to cancel (with notice). I showed up to my appointment 10 minutes early which gave us more time for the consultation. Once the appointment started, she told me she hasn't taken new clients in over a year because the wait for her existing clients became too long. I asked, "so how did I get here?" She said she didn't know and that maybe I just emailed her at the right time. When I left my appointment with frizzy hair (I guess she doesn't flat iron hair or normally work with curly hair) she told me I could reschedule a new appointment next season or next year, it's up to me... I'm sure she is far more friendly and helpful with her existing clientele. I'm also sure I won't be returning but that is probably alright with Amy.

Whether it's color, cut, or a full transformation, she truly knows what she's doing and takes great care of me from start to finish. Yes -- it's expensive (I never spend less than $500), but honestly, it's worth every cent. You can tell you're in the hands of someone who's experienced, talented, and thoughtful about her work. She also offers a free consultation, which I really appreciate. Appointments can take time (mine have ranged from 3-5 hours depending on the service), but it never feels rushed. Sahar's assistants--who I believe are family--help her out and keep everything flowing smoothly. The whole team is super professional and kind. The salon vibe is always on point--there's music, it's busy, and it feels like a place where people actually enjoy being. Booking is also super easy through Instagram. She responds quickly, and one time even moved my appointment up because I had a vacation coming up--so accommodating! If I could afford it more regularly, I'd come all the time.
