He loves to have fun with hair, gives me awesome layers (my hair is sooooo long) which end up being fun and gives me a lot of bounce. He also colors my hair and does a great job! I made an appointment two weeks in advance with Marcela after seeing a post from a friend on social media. The day of 20 minutes before my appointment, I received a call from the salon asking me to come 1/2 an hour later, because Marcela was running behind. I showed up 1/2 an hour later to no one at the front desk and no one working even acknowledging my presence. When the front desk person showed up, she said she didn't know where Marcela was and that she had to make an emergency phone call. Marcela came back from outside the salon moments later, and the front desk person hung up her phone. Weird, right? Marcela was very engaging and complementary of my hair, but also wanted to know who recommended me (I said no one), if I spoke Spanish and where I was from. She sent me back to get my hair washed for 15 minutes! In the meantime, she worked on another client. She then came to tell me she was still not done yet, complained this client's needs were taking so long, and asked if another stylist could cut my hair. (Reminder, I booked her two weeks in advance). I reluctantly agreed, wet hair and all and time invested since it was a simple cut. Big mistake. The stylist put gel in my thick, long hair, and spent most of the session complaining my hair was so dry he couldn't get the comb thru my hair... you think? He also compared my hair to his daughter who is of some sort of mixed Latino ancestry, because of course all Latino people have the same type of hair, right? I asked for four inches off, and he clearly thought I meant to start, because he continued cutting until I was missing closer to eight inches of length. Along the way he asked if I cut my hair often, to which I said no, because what is often? Maybe he thought that was permission to cut off some more, plus the disaster that was my dry, gel-mucked ends that he had to cut more too, one would think. Then he asked if I wanted my hair styled straight, to which I immediately and firmly replied no. I guess he didn't like my answer because he asked again, and I said no and clarified I wanted it blown-out not flat-ironed. Can you guess what he did? He pulled out the flat iron and said my hair would look better straight. He also parted my hair in the middle to cut and style it, which is not where my hair naturally parts. Oh, and the signs around saying this station has been sanitized between clients are a joke. He sat me in his chair immediately after moving another client to the next chair for her dye job, and used brushes and clips with other people's hair in it. The one clip he used to section my hair to blow dry had a giant white hair stuck to it, not mine, I almost laughed it had gotten so unbelievably ridiculous. I don't dye my hair, but if I did it would be useful to know the stylists don't mix the dye. While the stylist cut my hair, he asked the girl that washes hair and sweeps the cuttings from the floor to mix the dye for the client he had moved over to the next chair. She brought a few tubes of dye over that sort of matched the colors he asked her to get and she proceeded to squirt bits of it as the stylist occasionally glanced over while cutting my hair! To recap my appointment was at Noon, and I finally left visibly upset two hours later. I don't know what it takes to be treated with respect here, but I won't be returning to find out. read more

Let me start with I have never felt so welcome like I have in this salon...Karla did my hair and her personality made me feel like I'd known her forever and then some. Had the best cut, color and blow dry in my life! I will be a forever customer. Oh and the girl that washed my hair was just as sweet. Even got a head massage! This is a must go to! read more

Honestly if i could put 0 stars i would. I got my hair done first time there in November 2021 and it turned out so great i asked for a brownish silver with a money piece some highlights but overall to look natural, i went back April 29th 2022 for a touch up on the color and they did a 180 on my hair and went copper when that was not what i told them. I even showed pictures of what i showed the first time i went and how it looked when he did my hair the first time and he was convinced that it was the same when it obviously wasn't. I sat in the salon chair crying telling him i don't like it so he puts more bleach on my hair to fix it i paid $220 just for it to be fucked up again. Worst place ever. Asked for a refund so i could go somewhere else and get my hair fixed and they refuse to give me a refund read more

DONT RECOMMEND TOXIC ENVIROMENT!! Used to be a salon I loved and trusted. Now... sadly the owner has let horrible people into the salon and it's ruining the environment and services. For starters three times in a row I had a haircut with Kameer and all three times he lost focus and went to short in several areas forcing him to completely abandoned the original haircut and go way shorter than I wanted or would leave one side of my hair faded uneven while the other side looked like a horse bit it. The 2nd and 3rd haircut I asked him several times and confirmed with him that he knew what haircut I wanted and the length. YET again each time I was left with a horrible haircut. He is very arrogant and believes that every haircut he gives is perfect when several times now my hair has been left a mess. I made it very clear the last time I was extremely upset and still it seemed like he could careless. Several times I have heard him get into arguments with other co workers in front of clients. I'm done with the games being played at this salon its very obvious this salon was once a promising establishment but is now being ruined by a few rotten apples. I've never left a salon and sat in my car and cried the entire drive home before, but I got that experience today. So since Yelp forces you to at least give 1 star then that will be what mine is for, a new experience. I went in with a Groupon for a cut and single process color and was immediately told I need to spend an extra $100 to get what I wanted. I played along and 5 different attempts to color correctly and 5 hours later I left with orange roots and burnt orange hair and a haircut that looked nothing like what I asked for. I was told the entire time that I shouldn't worry and then when I still expressed concern I was told don't worry it'll all wash out soon anyway. So at least I have that to look forward to. I found the salon after asking a total stranger where she got her fabulous cut, which was vaguely similar to what I was looking for and suited her perfectly. She recommended Marcela at Style Salon and since it's near me I took a chance. I was going from very long hair to a bob, so I was a bit nervous. I brought in several pics showing what I thought I wanted. We sorted some details together. Not only did I get what I came for, it's literally one of the best cuts I've gotten in my life. Marcela's attention to detail is phenomenal. Staff are friendly, as is Marcela. I received two compliments on my hair within the first 15 minutes of leaving the salon, lol (I went shopping nearby.). It's held up beautifully and needs a minimum of styling, which is what I wanted. I highly recommend her. read more

This is the second time Kameer has cut my hair. I was happy with the first cut but this time I took his advice and let him change it up. I couldn't be happier. Not only did it look fantastic when I left the salon, but just as fantastic when I washed and styled it myself. People that see me everyday continue to rave about my hair weeks later. This review is primarily about the nail and aesthetician services, as I haven't had my hair done here. I have been seeing Brandon for pedicures for about four years.. He is a perfectionist and I would recommend him to anyone. He will make sure your feet look great and, increasingly important as I've gotten older, FEEL great. I never feel rushed with Brandon and he gives a great foot and leg massage as part of the full pedi. I'm not as big of a manicure person but he's great at them as well. Nathalie has been cleaning up my face for several years as well. Ha ha. Seriously, she has done a great job on eyebrow and lip waxing - very mindful of not overdoing it, and always focused on my comfort. They are both exceptionally warm and friendly people, and I highly recommend both. The salon overall is welcoming and clean, and Marcela made a great recommendation to me for a hair product I love. I got a groupon for this salon I went on Friday my appointment was at 1:30. I got a call at 1:00 stating that the hair dresser I requested was over booked. I spoke to the manager I told her that this is a big inconvenience for me since I set the appointment up a week prior. The manager suggest for another hair dresser to do my cut. I agreed to her suggestion I regret it now! The lady that ended up giving me a trim did NOT know how to cut hair clearly! I got a trim from HELL! I had to tell her to STOP cutting and I got up from the chair... I had to make another apportionment at Hugo salon for Saturday morning so Jeanette could fix this lady trim. Jeanette fixed my hair I loved it! Don't bother wasting your time and money here! It's a salon from HELL. I have learn my lesson! read more

I got a haircut and blow dry from Minh and so happy with the result. The true testament is when you wash and style your hair yourself after service, and realize whether cut was done properly or not. Minh did everything I asked him for - gave me good shape, round layers, lots of volume, longer bangs, a style that works well when I blow dry, or when I wear my hair curly. He has very humble demeanor, very efficient, attentive to client's needs, overall, a good human-being and a skilled professional. I went in yesterday for color. I wanted to go blonde and ended up getting highlights all over so that the roots wouldn't be as stark, at the stylists' suggestion. I wanted a silvery ash blonde with no yellow, and my hair has a lot of yellow in it. Rosemary worked for three hours to get the color right, and she did! I'm very happy with the results. It was more than I ever spent in a salon ($140) and the pricing was a little confusing, but fair for the amount of work she put in. She also made sure to recommend a specific shampoo to maintain the silvery color. read more

I went yesterday to get my hair colored and cut. I could not be happier with my hair. The color is beautiful and the cut is perfect. Marcela took her time with my cut making sure I was aware of what she was doing during the whole process. Fantastic environment everyone is so friendly there. Alexa offered me a beverage and Hanna at the reception desk was wonderful! by the time I left the salon I felt like family, the entire staff, Marcela, Kameer, Alexa and Hanna made me feel so comfortable. In this day and age you sure don't get service like this anymore. It seems like people in the service industry are so wrapped up in them selves and could care less about others but not a Style Salon! My hubby was with me when I made the call and confirmed that I told them the right date since it was for a friends wedding. If I could write zero stars for this business I would. I went to this salon because I saw on Groupon that they could color my hair for a reasonable price, so I called ahead, made an appointment and double checked if they could color my hair the way I wanted. They told me to come in and see what they could do. So I did. I have naturally curly hair, and it is medium length. The salon "professional" that I was assigned to told me automatically "I cannot dye your hair! Your hair is too frizzy!" I don't know what frizziness had to do with getting my hair dyed but I thought he knew what he was doing so I was listening and keeping an open mind. He told me that I needed to get a keratin treatment first (I should of known right then that he was just trying to get more money out of me then I set out to give). So I asked him what the keratin treatment would do and he said it would stay straight for 4 months, I didn't have to use heat of a straightener so my hair would grow and stay smooth. Having curly hair my whole life that sounded like A DREAM COME TRUE!! I quadrupled checked with him that that is what this treatment would do ( because I am a college student and I am not trying to waste money on something that won't work) So I got the treatment. I only wash my hair once a week so when my hair was curly after the second week (second wash) using the recommended shampoo and conditioner for Keratin treated hard I knew something was wrong. I avoided the beach water, pool water, just any kind of water and sweat to try to "not mess up the treatment" , I gave it a chance and didn't think it would get any worse, went on vacation and still my hair was going back to its natural form in just about 3 -4 washes. If it's suppose to last 4 months for a person who washes their hair a couple times a week, then it should have lasted for me. I went in a few weeks later to the salon to tell them the problem and they automatically accused me of not following the instructions of the treatment, and what the hair stylist told me to do. He told me that I didn't deserve to get my money back and that I did something wrong. He didn't even try to listen to me and got other people to join ganging up on me when all I went in there to do was to get my money back for a service that wasn't given and was promised. The manager was about to give me the full price of my money back, and I was okay with that because that seemed fair since I didn't get at all what I paid for. But the stylist Kameer kept fighting and insisting that she shouldn't give any of the money back. I don't see how it is any of his concern because it isn't his business, but maybe his pride got in the way. Either way it was super unprofessional the way he was talking to me the whole time, accusing me of doing something wrong when all I wanted to do was care for my hair so it could grow and I could get the color that I wanted done. Eventually he got to her (the "manager" ) and she said she wasn't going to give me a refund. I told her that's fine but you will get a bad review. She said she was going to sue me for putting her name out but I'm just trying to be fair about this, and they obviously don't think the customer is priority. They were not helpful at all, all they wanted me to do was leave. They didn't care about taking my money, but when the treatment didn't work they didn't think they owed me anything. They basically told me to leave, so I sat in front of their salon writing this review. A few minutes later the "manager" came out and said she would give me 50%. I don't really think 50% is just but its better then nothing. If they handled the situation professionally I wouldn't be writing this review, but they didn't. It was pretty much the worst situation for me trying to talk to them. I would NEVER come back to this salon. True colors really do come out of this salon when something doesn't go right. I recommend not going to this salon but if you do I wouldn't have Kameer because he seems to have too much pride and if you do not like what he has done to your hair don't expect an apology, expect to be accused of something you didn't do, and expect a fight. read more

Negatives: He was RUSHING through my hair when he was blow drying it and literally yanked a hair follicle out or two. He even asked the lady who washes hair to help him blowdry my hair. I did a walk through the White Flint Shopping Center and noticed they had a Salon next to Subway, decided to peep my head inside and to check Men's Haircut prices. Their staff was really nice and friendly from the minute you walk in, they greeted me, asked me about what services I was interested and offered water, soda etc. Very professional atmosphere :) They highly recommended Karla a new Stylist at the Salon for my haircut. Kamir is Absolutely Amazing Hair Stylist! The first time I went to style salon I got a Groupon and lived ln the area. Consider I had a long mermaid hair. Kamir convinced me to change it a bit and said I have great features for shorter hair. So he cut it shorter and I loved myself. He has such a great technique with the haircut and styles according your face. I'm absolutely in love with him and how he works. Plus he is not one of those hairstylists that can't stop talking about stupid shit no one cares. He is very professional and focuses on your hair not on some random gossip. Do NOT go here, ever! I decided to treat myself to a hair and makeup appointment before a gala Saturday night but ended up going to another salon to fix the mess my stylist created.The staff was SO rude and disrespectful. My stylist was rushing through my appointment because he had other people waiting- he didn't even wash my hair! He kept checking his phone unprofessionally and almost burned my hair at one point. I showed him a picture of the eye makeup I wanted done and he told me"that's a model, you have a groupon I'm doing you a favor by applying more than one shadow". I guess since I had a groupon my eyeshadow didn't deserve to be even on both eyes? PS My groupon entitled me to a 60-minute makeup application, he was done in 20 minutes! I had called ahead of time because I have clip in extensions and I wanted fake eye lashes applied and the receptionist said it would be no problem. At my appointment apparently I got "no special treatment because you're a groupon customer". I told him I would be happy to pay an additional fee and he said there was no time (I'm guessing because he has other appointments waiting). He was doing something awful to my hair (making it spiky and yanking my hair as he was brushing out the curls making it frizzy) and I finally just stood up asked him to stop touching me. I left the salon in tears after he kept saying loudly in front of everyone "you have a groupon you don't get any special treatment or add-ons". No one (not even the salon owner who was standing by the door) was willing to help or resolve the issue. Never come here, it's not worth your time or money! read more

Kameer was mean. I brought him a picture of how I wanted my haircut and all he did was insult me. The picture was of a girl with long hair and long layers and he insisted it was a bob and told me that this particular hair cut would not look good on me. Then I asked him to show me a picture of what he thought I should have, and it didn't have any layers. It was just a straight cut and slightly shorter than what I have now. He insisted he was the best hair stylist with the best reviews and then said he wasn't going to cut my hair. I've never had this happen to me before. I have given the salon one star because the manager was caring enough to try to resolve the issue. Unfortunately she hired a jerk. read more

I love Marcella! She did my bridal hair trial for me the other day & I loved everything about the look. The curls are PERFECT!! Marcella is known for getting curls just right, and not prom like. Kameer is the greatest thing that ever happened to my hair. He's knowledgeable, talented, and committed to giving you a look you'll love. Every time I call to make an appointment with him at Style Salon, the staff are friendly and accommodating and they try as hard as they can to work with whatever time constraints I have. The salon is clean and modern. In my most recent experience, I asked Kameer to cut conservatively since I was nervous about my hair getting too short. I left the salon, loving my hair, as usual, but the next day I realized it was actually too long. Kameer took me in the next day on very little notice to adjust the cut. I cannot stress enough how great he is. As long as I live in the Maryland area, I don't plan on going to any stylist but Kameer. read more
