I'd never been in this location and was impressed with how clean and orderly it was. The layout was a little different from what I've come to expect from most other Goodwill locations, but the store felt large. I always visit the books first and I wasn't too impressed with their offerings. Not to mention how expensive they all are. They did, however, have a very large collections of vinyl records. There were a few items of interest, for me, in housewares. But again, the pricing really seemed rather high for secondhand items. During check-out, the associate helping us could barely complete the transaction for being in the middle of the conversation that Angel and another associate were having. He (Veon) wasn't rude, but I was left standing and staring while waiting for him to proceed with my transaction.

Ahhhh...finally some "me" time and I found my happy place at Roots to Wings. The locally-owned…read moreshop, an old barn, is filled with a mix of antiques, artisan objects and decorator items. The clerks welcomed me when I entered and asked if they could help me. They told me about sales in many booths. Most booths were had clearance prices with prices up to 50% off. A friendly old shaggy dog makes its way past customers. The shop is filled with soaps, candles, jewelry and primitive antiques. I searched through every nook and cranny. Each room is creatively decorated. I found a Christmas ornament that I couldn't live without. Actually, I found several, but settled on one. The shop was filled with laughter, as clerks removed ornaments from trees. This made me happy. There is a restroom filled with whimsical antiques. The shop is a little difficult to see from the road, but they had banners out to pull people in. Parking is somewhat limited, but I didn't have trouble finding a spot. Well worth a visit.

Boxes and clothes baskets accepted. 2) Expect to pay more for purchases and get less for your items. 3) Need to leave vintage( although site says vintage) items out. Only want items 1-3 yrs old. 4) Do call before you take stuff in because they are now limited on storage and ask for what seasonal items they can handle. Tired of carrying stuff back. Requires a second trip. 5) Alternative to selling items is to take them is using Good Will. They provide with a receipt to put a value on your donation to be used as tax deduction. If in good condition I put 30-50 percent of original price. Plus they educate and provide jobs to handicap people who otherwise could not work. Fulfills my helping others needs. 6) If they are that over-crowded on space that they can not take all seasons they need to be giving excess to the area womens shelters.

I think I found one pair for under $20. I am sorry, but I am not ok spending that much on used blue jeans. So I passed. I did look in active wear, the prices were a bit better, but not by much. I get that the store is trying to make money. For me, if I am going to pay that much. I will just spring for the new version. $20-$35 dollars for used blue jeans is ridiculous. Like I said, I wanted to support local. At this point I am looking at other options. Online, picking through goodwill, or waiting a bit and saving for brand new. As far as service goes. I can not speak on that. I didn't interact with anyone.

This trip, I was looking for a few new pieces to refresh my home after removing my Christmas decoration and taking back to storage. My home always feels bare and not as cozy after removing the Christmas decor. My main reason for running around in this bitter cold is to add more greenery, maybe some new artwork (looking for botanicals), and maybe some new throw pillows for additional accent colors. The prices are reasonable, so I can afford to replace smaller accent items when I tire of them. I only picked up two new candles and 3 packages of candle melts today, but I took pictures of several items I could use. The items change often, so I need to pop back in soon after they restock with new items. Affordable, unique pieces, collectibles, antiques, linens, cookware, purses, hats, with a dedicated area for current and vintage jewelry and clothing with numerous jeans, and a variety of boots and shoes. There is also a garden area outdoors that is hit or miss with the prices. If you find a large piece then let an associate know so that they can help with loading. I saw flooring such as tiles, rugs and I saw framed artwork which was difficult to browse through. There are dressers that would be great for a diy project. I also saw some wires, tools and lighting options. At the front are various couches and chairs as well as bed frames. I'll be returning to check the clearance again.
