I visited your salon on September 12th for a blowout, makeup, and lash service and was deeply…read moredisappointed with the quality of the service I received. While the blowout was satisfactory, the makeup application was subpar. The stylist applied clips to my hair that ruined the blowout then placed her hands on top of my head several times and applied makeup to the sides of my hair. Additionally, an individual who appeared to be the owner assisted the stylist in applying texture spray without consulting me, despite my request to decline. This attempt to rectify the blowout's flatness only exacerbated the issue. The makeup was excessively light, appearing to be lighter than my skin tone, and was not suitable for mature skin. The powder was also excessive for mature skin. The lashes came off prematurely, and the glue appeared old. The lip stain bled into my upper lip. The stylist's hygiene was unprofessional, emitting an unpleasant odor. During my appointment, the stylist was unable to locate several items and lacked the necessary preparation. After an extended period of waiting, the stylist was unable to resolve the issues. I subsequently rescheduled my appointment for the following day, the 13th, due to the lengthy wait time and my attendance at a family wedding in Homewood. Upon returning to Blo on the 12th around 3:30 I discovered that the salon was empty, with no staff at the ground desk or within the salon. I contacted the salon and attempted to cancel my appointment via phone, text, and app. However, the app indicated that I did not have an appointment. I called on the 13th at 11:00 AM to confirm, as I am aware of Blo's cancellation policy. Despite my attempts to contact the salon, including returning to the salon the day before, the store owner/manager disregarded my dissatisfaction with the service provided on the previous day. Under my appointment in the app, it showed cancellation on the 12th and the morning of the 13th. After calling on the morning of the 13th, the manager informed me that It was not cancel  and would be charged the full amount.  The quality of the service I received did not meet the expectations at all. I reach out to the franchise main email twice they got back with a response that the Homewood Blo would reach out to me but that never happened.

I don't know what she did, but my hair had NEVER been softer. Some stylists are still wearing masks, many are not, but every time I saw a customer come in with a mask, I overheard their stylist ask the customer if they wanted their stylist to wear one (and Sarah asked me as well!). I think they could do a better job of explaining all the services that will be done to accomplish your goal, because it felt like a bit of a whirlwind to me, but I also didn't ask. All in all, it was a GREAT experience (complete with complimentary drinks!).

Are you wondering why I gave one star? Honestly, Wheelhouse Salon deserves none, but that wasn't an…read moreoption. My experience here was extremely disappointing, aside from my initial consultation with Angelika on Oct. 20th. During the consult, I explained that my main goal was to blend my 3-month gray grow-out into something easier to maintain. I showed her photos of the soft gray-blended look I wanted, and she never once said it couldn't be achieved in one session. She filled out a laminated service card with the exact services and prices required, and I booked based on that information. On Oct. 28th, I arrived for the first color appointment. After reviewing the same photos again, Angelika brought over another stylist, and they decided to add a shadow root. When she finished, my hair looked nothing like what I asked for--I left with blue roots and barely any blonde. She apologized and said she'd fix it at my next scheduled appointment on Nov. 12, which included both the correction and a keratin treatment. Since she promised it would all be handled then, I trusted her. When checking out that day, I was charged $393.32--lower than the quote--but still tipped 20% because she said she planned to fix everything. My total came to $471.98. On Nov. 12th, I showed up expecting the correction and the keratin, as previously discussed. Instead, I was told I had to choose one service because she hadn't booked enough time. I chose the keratin since that's what she had scheduled. Afterward, while checking out, the front desk tried charging me $476 instead of the quoted $315, saying I "hadn't paid enough" at the first visit and they needed to collect an additional $40. This was never communicated. They removed one $40 error, but I still ended up paying $456.54. After realizing that I had now spent over $900 and still didn't have anything close to the color I asked for, I messaged Angelika directly through the contact card she provided. She read the message but never replied. When I called the salon to review the charges, another error was found and I was refunded $48.29--even though their written policies state they "don't offer refunds." It was clear I had been overcharged multiple times. I reached out again to clarify my Dec. 1 correction appointment. The salon later texted me saying Angelika felt she only owed me a base color and blow-dry, and that I would have to pay for the foil and toner--another $274. This would have pushed the total cost of this disaster to well over $1,200. They also claimed that my desired gray-blended look takes multiple sessions, something never mentioned in the consult or at any point before taking my money. Angelika had expressed total confidence that she could achieve the look. At this point, nothing made sense. How can stylists turn dark brown hair into pink, purple, or blue in a single appointment, yet somehow blending soft gray tones supposedly requires multiple expensive sessions? Either they lack the skill or they are price-gouging. I'm sharing this to save others from the time, money, and frustration I experienced. Always take a photo of the laminated service card--they rely on it, and you should too. My before photo, the inspiration photos I provided, and the results I left with were not remotely aligned. My 3-month gray grow-out is gone, and I paid nearly a thousand dollars for a result I never asked for.

He does great blowouts and I always leave feeling like a million bucks. This school actually used to be a movie theater decades ago they've done a really good job turning into a beauty school. I want to say it's been around maybe at least 15 years if not more. When I walked in, I was greeted with a smiling receptionist asking my name and then getting me to fill some stuff out while I waited. I visited the bathroom and got me some water. They also offer tea I believe. If you're going to get a facial, they usually give you a robe and slippers, but since it was just brow lamination, we didn't get any of that. They did bring us to a waiting area that was dark and had peaceful and relaxing music on. While I was sitting there, a young blonde came in and said my name and I said that was me and she led me down the hallway into a room with a massage table I laid on. She did do a patch test first to make sure I wouldn't be allergic to the ingredients to get my lamination done. After the past test was over, she began her magic. She told me she will be graduating in June. I am going to try to make an appointment to get a facial before she graduates. She was very personable and professional The one thing I find weird is you cannot add a tip when you're checking out you have to either give them cash or cash app or Venmo I was able to give her cash. The receptionist called her back upfront. And they do have a teacher come check out before and after your service. I will definitely be back here sooner than later I love that there is plenty of parking here.
