Was looking for a new look with my long hair for a Thanksgiving party so I searched Yelp and came across Tree. Being new to having my hair braided, I didn't know what I style I wanted and asked for her advice. Tree told me to take a picture of my hair to see what she can do. We communicated back and forth via text while I was at work and via voice when I had free time. She responded in a very quick, professional manner. She then recommended cornrolls and I agreed, setting the date for the appointment. I finally meet tree at her backyard, Sea Shed Saloon. That was a god-like experience on its own. The well built Shack ("Sea Shed" from that insurance commercial) had a tv, air conditioning, and well decorated with a heavenly theme, with the chair right in the middle. As special as the atmosphere was, that wasn't even the best part. Being used to to going to barbershops most of my life, I'm used to chatting it up with guys with barbershop talk. The conversations Tree and I had surely didn't disappoint. Conversating with her was definitely a blessing in disguise. I got so caught up in the conversation time went by fast. Tree's 30+ years of blessed braiding skills combined with a divine conversation was definitely an experience to remember. I'm definitely coming back when I'm in need for braids again. It's been 5 months since I started seeing Tree (once per month) and my slow-growing hair has grown 4 inches. It's incredible how healthy it is from the protective styles she does for me. Please do not book with this stylist!! I scheduled an appointment with her and the day of my appointment I texted her to confirm the time and location and she did not respond. I drove to the address and turns out it is an abandoned office. I texted her again to let her know that I'm at the address on her yelp page and she did not respond. She also did not pick up when I called her multiple times. Ladies beware! Something sketchy and unprofessional about this stylist. If I could give 0 stars I would! UPDATE Thanks for the response and explanation. You are right you've never done my hair before hence why I don't have to give you the benefit of the doubt. You are a stranger to me that sent me to an abandoned office waiting there way beyond our 5pm appointment time. In the day and age we live anyone would be suspicious and frustrated. Also you failed to mention that I texted you at 3:23pm (way before our appt) to confirm the time and address and you never responded to that text. So you had an hour and a half to correct this error. Your phone always goes straight to voicemail so I couldn't reach you. I gave you a 40 minute grace period before I posted about my experience which is based on what actually happened. I don't know how much longer you wanted me to give you especially since this is my first time booking with you. I wish this could have been sorted out but I didn't create this situation. Please update your address on yelp and respond to clients in a timely so this doesn't happen again. I wish you all the best. read more

First off I want to say I that I am very picky when it comes to anyone touching my hair- let alone putting scissors to it. Today was my first appt with Tree (silk press and trim) and right from the beginning I could tell that she knows what she is doing and loves what she does. At first I initially just wanted to get the silk press but after talking with Tree I felt comfortable and confident for her to trim my hair which was a pretty big deal for me. If your looking for someone who knows what they are doing, actually cares about your hair health, really nice, has good vibes, and all around a genuine beautiful soul then Tree is the person you want to go to.
