It's... okay, I guess. I ordered online (mistake #1). I picked it up about 10 minutes after it was supposed to be ready (mistake #2). And I was encouraged by all the great reviews, so I ignored the not-so-great ones (mistake #3). I really wanted to like this place, but the sandwich just didn't meet expectations. For $15+, I expected a pretty substantial cheesesteak. I assumed "half" and "whole" meant something close to 6" and 12". Apparently not. The "whole" was more like 8 inches. And when we're talking about meat, size matters. Unfortunately, it wasn't just short, it wasn't exactly packed either. The amount of meat on the hoagie roll was disappointing for the price. But the bigger issue was the flavor. A Philly cheesesteak should be juicy, cheesy, beefy, messy, and full of flavor. This one was just... bland. Both the meat and cheese seemed to be missing that classic cheesesteak punch, and the sandwich definitely wasn't juicy. Could picking it up 10 minutes late have hurt it a little? Sure. I'll own that. But I don't think 10 minutes explains the size, the amount of meat, or the lack of flavor. For me, it really comes down to value. If the whole sandwich was $10? Maybe. If $15 got me the sandwich, fries, and a drink? Maybe. But for what I got, how it tasted, and what I paid, the math just didn't work. I went in hoping I'd found a great cheesesteak spot. Since the MLB Allstar game is in Philly this year I was in the mood for a Philly cheesesteak. Having been to Dave's, Murray's in a hurray, and Philly connection i settled on sub of subs. Even though I got mine to go the service was fast and friendly. The prices are steep when you get combos or add ons. The menu is varied and offer a bulgogi cheesesteak too. I wanted to like this place, but the value just isn't there for the sandwiches. I ordered a turkey sub with American cheese, and to say it was light on the meat is an understatement. I paid extra for double meat. There were maybe 2 or 3 paper-thin slices of turkey on the entire roll and there was literally more cheese than meat. It felt like I was eating a bread and cheese sandwich rather than the turkey sub I paid for. For a shop with "Sub" in the name, the execution on their namesake item is unacceptable. The only saving grace was the spicy teriyaki wings. They were well-cooked and the flavor was actually delicious. In Duluth for work and my coworkers kept talking about Sub of Subs so of course I had to try it. Their hype was not matched by the food. It was good but the subs were mostly bread. We regret waiting so long to try this place. Everything we've had has been great and high quality. Examples: chicken torpedo, bulgogi sub, honey chicken sub, hot teriyaki wings, Italian sub. The bread they use is awesome. Even their side salad comes with super fresh ingredients. Service is fast. Love the convenience of ordering on the kiosk in the store or in the toast app. We get food Togo but noticed there is limited seating so consider that. Have been hearing about this place for months and finally decided to stop in. Small, local eatery with cute lil booths if want to dine in and one patio table just outside. Definitely reminds me of old school CHI town or NY mom/pop stop. Huge menu selection so took minute to actually decide. So many choices. Ended up getting us the SOS Sampler - 7" hot famous chopped cheese, crinkle fries, and 5 air chilled honey lemon pepper wings to go - so we could get sense of options. Service was super friendly and swift. Paid attention to the details which was very nice. I didn't realize the sampler, altho separated with paper, had all items placed into one box.... Will ask to separate next time. Unfortunately with all heat and moisture, the crinkle fries were not crunchy after drive home (my fault)..... the hot sub was pretty good, but juice from wings soaked thru bottom of sub altering taste a little. The wings were absolutely EXCELLENT! Will absolutely be re-ordering these as good wings are hard to find. Oh and can place order thru toast and capture reward points for $ off future orders. Online ordering is a snap with Toast on their website. I decided to go with the Italian with a few modifications to the toppings. Online ordering made that easy. Upon arriving I entered a mad house. The place was packed with no tables available and there was a line in front of the ordering terminal. It looks like a busy hole in the wall which is a good sign. My order came out about 5 minutes later than Toast estimated, but that's fine. The bag felt heavy and when I made it home I realized that the sub had a lot more meat than Subway would put on. I did have to add salt and pepper myself since Toast didn't have any dry seasonings listed other than oregano. Overall this was a great takeout experience for a sandwich shop. Not a fan of hot sandwiches from the grill, but the Korean Philly looks interesting. read more

This is my go to spot on uber eats . I have never even been to the actual place before, but I order about 1-2 times a week. Usually get the same, a sandwich and 6 wings. Ok first off the subs, even with up charges on uber, the hearty sandwiches are . Sandwiches: -Hot I've had the philly, korean philly, fish sandwich, cajun chicken, and spicy buffalo chicken!! The korean philly has the most flavor, the reg philly could use some seasoning its needs something. The fish sandwich was actually delicious it was almost like a poboy. Plus i love the tartar sauce. -Cold I've had the turkey club, BLT, turkey and salami, pastrami, club, and tuna. The tuna here amazing, if you love tuna enough said. My late favorite has been the pastrami with bacon Yum! The sandwiches are simple but delicious with fresh ingredients and plus the portion is big. I just get a sense of comfort when eating these. And I love the "tough" bacon WINGS: -First things first, these wings are huge!!!! I'm usually not a big (size) wing fan, but the sauce here is too damn good. My late flavor craze has been the spicy teriyaki hot. The sugars caramelize on the wings giving a crisp outside and with the spiciness and sweetness the best flavor . I just wish there was an option to make them extra crispy. Luckily today I called and asked for my Uber order. Gyros: -The original hero is simple yet solid wrap, especially with the z-sauce. Of course we can't leave out the tuna wrap which like I said, if you love tuna enough said. Overall solid sandwiches, wraps, and wings. Good portion size and value. I had an INSANE craving today for a Philly Cheese Steak after my gym workout. Almost to the point I was going crazy. I researched Yelp, and had some good options pop-up but this place was the closest to the gym. It's located right off Duluth Hwy and Meadow Church Rd, not far from Satellite Blvd. There wasn't much parking to be had, so I took a spot further away. I walked in, and there was a small line and mostly all the tables were taken. A couple people were waiting for to-go orders. Very busy for 1:30PM. They have a HUGE menu on the wall displaying everything they have to offer (Hot Sub/Cold Sub Options, Salads, Gyros, Fish/Shrimp Options and CHEAP wings - take note of that for the future). You place your order, pay and then wait until they call you. I didn't see "Philly Cheese Steak" on the menu, but the Torpedo was pretty much it. I ordered that plus chips and a drink, all under $10. I found the first table I came to, and it looked like the table top was leaning. There is only about 4 booths and 4 two-tops in here, and not much space. You're not coming here for the atmosphere, as everything seems very old. They have a fountain machine in the back with your basic options. I don't recall music. The service was very friendly. My Philly came out piping hot, and I forget to request no mushrooms. Either way, I still scarfed it down. The bread was oversized sub bread, and soft enough for the meal. I can't say there was anything great about the Cheese Steak, other than it was fresh. It could have used some extra seasoning or special sauce on it. However, it did the job of filling me up. I'd give the Philly a 2.5, service 4.0, atmosphere 1.5 and options a 4.0. I do want to come back to try out some of their other subs and certainly the deal on those wings ($.50 per wing). Worst customer service of all time. Stood in line for 20 minutes waiting on an online order. They refused to refund. The line was long, but all three employees including the owner continued to let the phone ring and people stand in line. When they finally answered the phone, the employee lied to the customer assuring them that the driver for their food delivery was on the way out the door. He did not leave immediately as the employee said, but 15 minutes later or so. Food was not hot, but tasted of a burnt oil from the grills. Offered for lunch, a Whiz Kid special that was pretty appealing and a fairly good choice considering the portion and quality. Prepared on the smaller hoagie that Sub of Subs serves for its lunch special, was tender well seasoned beef, an abundance of diced onion and the classic cheese whiz. There was just as much onion as beef and although it was delicious, it was quite a lot of onion and not enough bread to accommodate the pungent taste. It was slightly saltier than I would have preferred. I'm sure the whiz has killer sodium so that's probably the cause. I will return to try the philly fries. Overall, a great experience. read more

It is always a pleasure to walk into a food establishment and see the health score of A!!! I was told about this sub shop by a colleague. He ranted about their wings (quantity and price). In my head I said how are the any different from any other sub shop that sells subs, chicken wing, salad? They all do the same thing, drop the chicken in the fryer and add your favorite seasoning or the salad tastes like the bag salad you buy from the grocery store and they add meat if you desire. Well let me set the record straight about subs of subs .... they are NOT the same old typical sub shop!!! While my colleague raved about the wings I was wanted something light. I choose the grilled lamb salad. Wow! Whoa! Mind blowing! Yes I'm talking about a salad! The presentation was beautiful. The taste outstanding. The medley of mixed greens tasted like they went outside to garden and got the greens, the tomatoes and cucumbers were diced; perfect for eating. The silvered onions were great. The lamb was cooked perfectly! The only thing missing was a hard boiled egg and a slice of pita bread, but those are personal preferences. They do give you two packs of saltine crackers and two packs of salad dressing and get this at no extra charge. Did I mention the portion was hearty. It's not often I don't complete my meal in one seating but this one I went back to finish it as a small snack. Definitely going back to try the chicken next! read more

I ordered 10 lemon pepper wings and paid the $1.50 service charge for all flats. They were still hot when they made it back to the office. The lemon pepper seasoning was very good. They were crispy and not soggy at all. I do wish I had a little more ranch and celery. The celery were the very ends of the stalks. I had one bite. Not so good. But everything else was really good.
