Have a near 30yr old Subzero fridge that stopped cooling. 2nd repair needed on this old unit. For a very reasonable cost, Jason came and did a tremendous job (on Saturday) of putting things right. This is the second time I have called on SubZero and Viking Solutions to fix a problem with my 32-year old SubZero. Both times Jason came the next day and within the two-hour time slot they had given me. He is knowledgeable, efficient, and very experienced with SubZeros, He explains exactly what is going on and breaks down exactly what the repairs will cost. The first time, April 2024, the refrigerator was not running as cold as it should. Jason diagnosed the problem, described the fix, obtained the necessary parts and did the repair within a day or two. The second time, Nov. 27, 2024, frost was building up in the freezer and both the compressor and the freezer were running a little warm. Jason replaced the compressor fan motor and the defrost timer, both of which parts he had on his truck. In just a couple of hours the frost build-up was gone and the freezer was running like new. (Another SubZero repair company had proposed a more elaborate fix that would have cost several hundred dollars more, taken 8-9 days to get the parts, and I would have had to turn off the freezer completely in the meantime and lose all the food.) I cannot recommend SubZero Solutions ad Jason highly enough. Five stars for both visits! read more

Steve did an AWESOME job. I have a 20 year old SubZero 632 with custom cabinets. It's been great. It was $5k in 2002... now over $15k. OUCH. Recently the freezer compressor wasn't working. Being an engineer... I dug into it. Concluded either the compressor or the starter capacitor was the cause, likely the compressor. The place I bought it from was going to take a couple weeks to send a tech... I got a referral to these guys. Steve showed up that afternoon. Thankfully it wasn't the compressor (a 3 or 4 hour job to replace, plus the part alone is $300 best case). Steve replaced the relay overload switch and had me up and running in about an hour. The compressor kit I thought I was going to have to install includes this little overload switch, so it _would have_ fixed it, but this was quick and a heck of a lot less work. Many thanks to Steve. We have two sub zero units: a freezer and refrigerator. After reading Yelp reviews we decided to call Sub Zero Solutions for help when the temperature in our refrigerator began to fluctuate between 29 and 40 degrees. Fearful we might need a new refrigerator, Jason explained the reason we did not even need a new thermostat. He also denied we needed to have the compressor cleaned! Jason checked the refrigerant pressure, and added lightbulbs I had forgotten to mention as they had burned out! This is a testimony to good people and to the power of Yelp. Our 13-year-old (inherited when we bought the house) Sub Zero freezer gasket ripped fully over the weekend. I called a leading repair service (whom we've used before) and they scheduled me for almost 3 weeks later. For my primary freezer? Not happy to wait that long. I jumped on Yelp, found Sub Zero solutions and left Steve a voicemail on a Saturday. He called me back within an hour and schedule an appointment for Tuesday morning - took all the info. on the fridge so he could have the gasket ready to go. This morning, Jason arrived at the front end of the two hour (yes! no waiting all day long!) window I'd been given on Sat. and quickly got to work. Offered to clean the condenser and give things a once-over while he was at it, all for the cost of the service fee. Well, things were DIRTY in the condenser and it turns out that our fan motor was leaking oil like crazy. I don't think this thing's ever been serviced in the 8 years we've lived here. Jason had the fan motor on the truck, replaced that w/o any upcharge, told me how amazing these fridges are and how they'll run forever if you just maintain them properly and went on his way. As I sit beside the beast, it's quiet for the first time I can remember in a while - the whole thing was struggling to run and now that Jason tuned 'er up, she's more efficient and quiet than ever. Oh, and bonus! They service Wolf ranges b/c they're owned by Sub Zero - so I'm having this crew back to fix a long-broken oven door. If you're on the fence whether to call, just do it. As you can tell by their name they service only Sub Zero and Viking appliances. They don't sell these refrigerators which attracted me to use this business. We have a 17 year old, built-in, sub zero, and we have used the folks we bought it from in the past and have been very disappointed. We were told our service would be very expensive and encouraged to purchase a new refrigerator. We got a second opinion., Jason from Sub Zero & Viking Solutions said it was a standard repair, for this brand, typically half way through the lifetime of the product. Jason was prompt, courteous and knowledgeable. He said our refrigerator should last 30 years and our repair (new condenser) should give us another 13 years. Yay! This guys are wonderful to work with, gave me a ballpark estimate and it was right on - they came quickly and solved the problem right away. I had another company come and look at it - after scratching their head they left me an estimate that was literally 3.5 times what Steve did it in. This was going to be a bad review. Steve was supposed to show up at 3 PM. He didn't, I didn't hear from him and at 3:30 I called his cell and left a message. I still hadn't heard from him by 4 PM and figured he wasn't coming. Then, at 4:30, the bell rang. Turns out Steve had texted me, thinking the number I gave him and had called from was a cell phone (it's a landline). He apologized for being late; it had been a crazy afternoon. When he and his associate came in, I asked them if they wouldn't mind taking their shoes off, as we try hard to protect our wood floors. They did so without hesitating or complaining, which often doesn't happen. Then they went to work, which was inspecting and tuning up our almost 20-year-old Sub Zero fridge, and fixing the light. Steve said he didn't expect any major issues, and, about a half-hour later, they were done. He said the unit was in good shape and that it could last another 10 years, which was great to hear. And it was nice to have the light working! He also made some suggestions re maintaining the unit. Because they were so late, Steve didn't charge me for the part to fix the light, and the final bill was actually less than what he had estimated when we scheduled the appointment. I would unhesitatingly call Steve again for anything to do with the fridge and would happily recommend him. read more

I called Sub Zero & Viking Solutions on a Sunday night after 10pm, after noticing the temperature on the refrigerator ride started rising. Steve, the owner of the business, responded my voice-mail in half an hour and promised to call me back on Monday morning and put me on the schedule. He called me the first thing next day, and came to my house with his son Jason by noon. They were extremely professional, quickly identified the problems, and fixed the problems with changing the motor of the major fan on the ceiling (that had stopped running), and two old sensors that caused the back wall mounting with ice. Both Steve and Jason very patiently explained every detail I would like to know. The refrigerator went to back to normal in four hours, and we are very happy with the results. Their service has one year warranty, which is an extra insurance. Steve and Jason are both so pleasant to talk with. I would highly recommend their service to anybody who has Sub Zero products. Steve and Dennis came over two days after I placed the call,and could not have been more helpful, pleasant and professional. They repaired the part needed within an hour and my refrigerator is back and running fine. The other company, Yale appliance, told me I needed a new refrigerator without even diagnosing the problem. I would stay far far away from Yale appliance. Subzero is the way to go if you have a Viking. Super knowledgeable and for $450 they fixed my problem. I simply had to write a review because I was so impressed with this company. Starting with my original call-which was answered promptly and and the person I spoke to was immediately helpful (& reassuring). This person listened to my description of the problem, and most importantly did not make me feel stupid for my uninformed assessment of the situation. I was told they'd send someone out between 12-2, and that's exactly when Jason showed up. When Jason showed up, he was very polite and professional. He said his name, the company's name, and then asked if he could come in to take a look at the freezer. I had my one year old grandson with me, and I appreciated the fact that he took that time to make me feel comfortable letting him into my house. I called around but no one would service Sub Zero or they could not come for days. Doing a Google search I found this repair service in my own town. I called them A gentleman named Steve answered the phone and I told him my dilemma, he said he could come out that afternoon around two.
