It was time for a NYS inspection and an oil change, so despite the fact that Keeler Honda was closer, I opted to take the car to Rensselaer Honda. On the phone, they were very pleasant and welcoming, giving me a choice of appt times despite the end-of-year rush that hits service departments. They texted me twice on different days to make sure I was still planning on making the appt. It was simple to confirm both times. Arriving there, we drove right into the service garage and dropped off the car and keys. Jeanette was friendly and efficient, listing the oil change and NYS inspection as the items to be done. I signed off and my husband and I went to the waiting area, from where we could clearly see the garage area. There was a nice child area room, a separate quiet room and a coffee machine that provided quite a selection of beverages. Bottled water and snacks were also available. We sat in the open area near the large screen TV and simulated fireplaceA little over an hour later, the car was done for a total of $70.08. They did not try to price gouge me or search for "something" they could make money off of. Nice job, pleasant and quiet waiting area where you aren't in the middle of the showroom floor ( like Keeler Honda), and they will certainly get my return business. Update - 11/12/2019 The battery to my husband's 2016 Accord died suddenly this afternoon, so I tried to book an appt early tomorrow morning to get the battery replaced. No dice. In fact no early morning appts all week. No attempt to squeeze us in, which I find very disappointing. As a result, we had to go to Keeler Honda, because they made room for us Sorry, Rensselaer Honda, but if you want the business of any Albany driver, you need to make the room in your schedule for times when emergencies pop up.

We test drove a 2108 Honda Pilot, after discussion with the sales rep we decided to move forward. After signing paperwork and leaving a deposit, he told us they did not the title for the vehicle due to an improper signature and that it should be there Monday, possibly Wednesday the latest. Needless to say the title never came. After two and a half weeks of waiting a less money in our pockets, we asked the dealership to provide us with some kind of compensation to keep us a float. Balancing a family on one car, with the expectation and verbal reassurance that this car would be in our driveway any day now- they agreed to give us a rental as we await the title. A week went by, more dates were promised, a tracking number was provided and the title never came. After a month waiting and a week with the rental the sales manager insisted we bring the rental back- because at this point we were an inconvenience and an expense. I would never recommend doing business with these people. They held onto us long enough to try and make a sale- and when they realized this title was not coming anytime soon after a month without a vehicle they decided to push us out. They lied to us over and over about the titles tracking and whereabouts, the previous owners involvement and the prior interested buyer who we later found out also pulled out after over a month waiting. Mike Smith is the biggest con artist out there and I wouldn't give him one penny off the ground if I found it :-) I would never recommend this dealership, and I suggest you stay clear of the headache. Invest your money literally anywhere else.

Took a few days to mull it over then went back and bought it. I've had it for over two years now and I've taken it back to the service department for state inspections and oil changes. It hasn't needed anything else. They really go through it to to bottom before selling it. And this car is 17 years old. The service department is great. They don't add on extra things wrong like some other service department or try to up their cash flow by recommending things you don't need like a lot of quick oil change places do. This is the honest mechanic I've been looking for. All in all I'm really happy with the Bob Karl experience. When this car eventually dies, I'll definitely be back to buy another. I'd give ten stars if I could. Extremely highly recommended!

    I purchased a 2006 Buick Lucerne on December 2, 2020 with 68,950 miles. "An exception car" as Bob…read moreput it. With taxes I paid $6200. So far I've had to have the brake lines, portion of the fuel line, quick disconnect, fuel evac hose and solenoid, transmission pressure sensor replaced and a rebuilt differential installed. I also replaced the passenger side mirror. So now I have a 16 year old car that I've had to put about another $5000 in repairs. Later I found out that Carfax listed the car as a total lose. My bad for not checking sooner. Bob says he doesn't get Carfax because of a bad experience. I once asked him via email if he would have bought the car had he gotten the Carfax. I didn't get a reply. Bottom line, I have a 16 year old car that's cost me about $11,000.

    I have been looking online for 5 years for a car. I physically started searching 6 weeks ago. Three…read moreweeks ago I went to Subaru of Troy. The car dealer Jimmer K went about and beyond explaining every button in the car. I had to think about it and went back a week later and the Subaru I fell in love with was sold. So I then advanced my search still looking and went back to Subaru of Troy. I had tried out different cars at about 13 different dealerships. Absolutely no one came out to see if I wanted any help, they just handed me the keys and took a copy of my license. I drove about 20 cars total but I had no idea about all the buttons. I went back to Subaru meanwhile we were constantly looking online. I fell in love with a green Subaru but it had a few things to be taken care of. My intentions were to be back on Monday to do the paperwork . In the meantime we found the identical car with like 36,000 miles less and a 2019 not a 2020. We went and looked at the car which was the same price and I bought it. Nothing had to be fixed on it. I felt really bad and left a voicemail with Jimmer. I am telling you that I have never met a salesman like Jimmer before. He went above and beyond all expectations. I would highly recommend this dealership and I would ask for Jimmer, he was "fantastic".

We decided that was enough waiting with no one telling us why he was delayed, or Vito setting us up with someone else to take a test drive. As we were leaving, I spoke to the receptionist and told her we were leaving and she said he was with other customers. At the same time someone stated from a disembodied voice, I'm Vito. We left anyway. We know right now dealerships have the advantage but how about giving the customer a modicum of respect.
