I don't have any pics but I have fabulous things to say about this place! I used to eat here weekly years ago when I worked at the dealership in Beavercreek! I've not had it in many years. I live in Cincinnati now but my bf was up in Dayton a week or so ago for work and saw one of their spots. He called me to see if I wanted something and of course I did. I stuck to my original fave and got the Turkey sub with "the works"!! DO THIS!! It translated after over an hour drive home to me! You have to get "the works", the hot pepper relish is SO good!! Staff is extremely polite. food is OK Would recommend. And lunchtime they are extremely busy so order ahead of plan wait.

We ordered delivered they totally messed up our food. We ordered 2 sandwiches, one a chicken Philly and the other a steak Philly. My steak Philly was The Works with extra mayo, my daughters chicken Philly was meat, cheese, mushrooms, onions, and that's it, with honey mustard on the side. The driver got here at like 10:35 and we opened up our sandwiches IMMEDIATELY! Our sandwiches were the complete opposite of what they were supposed to be. I called them back at like 10:38 and they don't close until 11:00 so I offered to come and pick up the replacement food if they would fix it. The man that answered the phone told me there was nothing he could do because they were already closed which wasn't true, they don't close till 11. I asked him "what is my daughter supposed to eat, you put tomatoes on her sandwich and she's allergic to tomatoes" he said "I can give you a credit in the book for next time" I asked him "What is my daughter supposed to eat? She's allergic to tomatoes. He said "I don't know what to tell you lady. I'll give you a credit in the book" Then I asked him what his name was and he acted like he didn't want to tell me who he was at first, then he said with a VERY SMUG tone "My name is Dave." I said "what's your last name" and Dave said "I don't have to give you my last name. My name is Dave and that's all you need to know. Ask anyone at any of the Submarine houses and they will know who I am". I asked him "if it was your kid what would you do?" and he said "LOOK LADY, that's all I can do, I don't know what to tell you. I'll put a credit for you in the book." So I asked him one more time what she was my daughter supposed to eat and he said "I don't know what to tell you lady" so I said "put the f*****g credit in the d*** book" I called the one in Beavercreek and told them what happened and the guy said for me to come and pick it up and he would give me something free. I had to drive 8.5 miles (1 way/14 minutes) to Beavercreek when the one on Brown Street is 2.2 miles (1 way/6 minutes) from here I feel like I should have gotten my food AND credited back my 20 bucks. read more

This is a classic sub shop near a college campus; older and loaded with character. We were still hungry after eating some sushi so we grabbed a bite here. I got the Italian. The subs come in 4, 8 and 16". I love the size choice. The sub had a toasted bun, it was spicy and tasted great. The person at the counter helped me order and was friendly. I apologized as I brought a drink in with me and he didn't seem to care maybe since I was buying a sub. There is limited seating especially if you have a large group. But This place is definitely worth a try. read more

After hearing great things about this chain, decided to try it out when I got a gift card from work. The food was delicious, fresh, and well made. The cheesesteak sandwich was hot and cheesy and BIG for the price, which was awesome. The fries were seasoned wonderfully, fresh and crispy. The location itself, however, wasn't stellar. The place felt dirty and dingy. The tables were so sticky that when I picked up my phone, you could hear it peeling off of whatever residue was on the surface. Won't be back to this location again, but I'll give another one a shot. read more

I ordered a Pizza Sub and it was cold. The menu says "Oven Toasted Deli Subs" and I was not asked if I wanted it warmed up, just thought it would come warm. My boyfriend also did not like his sub. Chewy bread and cold toppings. Would recommend Subway over this. read more

This place is good times for a good Philly cheese steak sub. This location is kinda dingy but that's pretty par for the course. The people are pretty friendly too. You have Penn station subway and Jimmy johns on the same block but something about these subs is better than the rest. ( I think it's the relish and vinaigrette.) check it out. Pricier than I would like but they have the best subs on brown street, with only average cheese steaks, so go for the turkey and ham.

I'm only doing this review so that I can add this restaurant to my favorites list on yelp! I think that pretty much sums my opinion on SH. While ALL SH locations are good very good, I think this locations makes the best sandwiches. read more

I participated in the 2012 Submarine House Super Duper Cheesesteak Challenge. I finished my 16" sub in less than 16 minutes, got a t-shirt, and my sub was free! The sub was delicious!! Submarine House has different locations in the Dayton area. This particular location wasn't the fanciest by any means, but the food was good and hot. Can't wait for the next challenge... I love this place. My friend intorduced me to the place and I am now a fan! The philly cheese steak with the works is fantastic! I've only been there a few times but every visit is a wonderful savory experience to my mouth and the beer is great, too. I will always visit this place when I am in town! it rocks! read more

Over priced , sub bread fallen apart , other sub was soggy... was disapointed in service, fry where cold also

Decided to order from here because the ad in my hotel room said that "delivery is our specialty". Placed an order for a super cheesesteak and an order of onion rings at 8:02 pm. Was told it would take about 45-55 minutes. I called back at 9:23 and asked if my order was still coming. The guy who answered said that the delivery driver was supposed to bring my order first but didn't and maybe it was weather related. There were only light showers tonight. Anyways, delivery driver calls at 9:27 and said he's around the corner and will be here in 3 minutes. I go down to the lobby and wait until 9:37. I go back up to my room fed up about to call and cancel, and finally get a call that my food is here at 9:41. The food was cold and soggy. I only ate some of it because I was so hungry from the flight in. I really, really wish I would have just canceled my order. Worst experience ordering out EVER! What a waste of $20. Took an hour and 40 minutes for cold, soggy food. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this unprofessional establishment. If I had the time, I'd definitely go down there and demand my money back. Delivery is definitely not their specialty or anywhere close. read more

Very disappointed in customer service at this location. I am a fan of the Submarine House menu and up until recently I have never had awful experiences or complaints. But something has changed drastically over the last few months at this location. Not only are my orders often incorrectly delivered, usually quickly resolved, but this huge decline in customer service such as an employee basically calling a customer a liar and even when they close at 11pm they tell you they close at 10:30pm clearly there's a need for new management or something to boost the customer service back up to where it used to be. I highly do not recommend this location, but if you want submarine house with quality service go to another location because this store has become a terrible example unfortunately. read more

This is my favorite lunch or casual dinner place on brown. The food is always done right and the atmosphere is very authentic for a midwest sub shop. The staff is nice and I have never had any problems. The subs are a decent deal considering their supperiority to chain stuff. Also the gyro deal is good because it is delicious and affordable. Meh. I just ate a Philly with mushrooms. There were 2 other Philly's on the menu with varying degrees of more meat, but I got the regular, and it was disappointingly skimpy on the meat, cheese was almost undetectable:( It tasted pretty good, but nothing I'd return for. If you want to give it a try, definitely get the one with extra extra meat. Bread was very good, pepper relish was very mild. OK sandwich, but Jimmy John's or firehouse blows the doors off the sandwich I just ate. read more
