Calzone

No beer on Sundays? Weird. And only cabernet for wine. Pizza was good, i recommend Sicilian style. Calzone and chicken marsala was also had and this is the old McGillicutty's (sp). Had a good crowd of people.

Side salad and garlic knots

My wife and I recently got take-out from Venecia for dinner and it surpassed all expectations. They don't have a true website, just a Facebook page so we looked at the menu via pictures from Yelp. We were able to order online via DoorDash and it was ready for pick up in about 15 minutes. We tried a 12 inch pepperoni pizza, and split a spaghetti bolognese. The dinner entrees come with a side salad and two garlic knots. Honestly, the food was delicious. Great sauce to pasta ratio on the bolognese. Pizza was topped with grated parmesan reggiano, which is always nice. We really enjoyed having a near 3 course meal with the side salad and garlic knot. It was the perfect amount to split and we still had plenty of bolognese and pizza leftover for lunch the next day. Overall, highly recommend Venecia and it has now become our go-to casual Italian restaurant in the south Dayton area.

I swear we try something new each time we come and it only keeps getting better and better. The pizza is huge, fresh toppings, and taste so good. We love the thin crust, rhw sauce is simple but compliments the pizza just right.

Tiramisu

Our first time here and we will be back. House dressing was great on the salad, and we loved that the entrees all come with a salad and two garlic knots. My husband got the shrimp scampi and the shrimp were cooked perfectly and not over done. I had the trio pasta and it was wonderful. Tiramisu was also amazing. They offer a cash discount which we did not realize otherwise we would have made sure to bring cash! Atmosphere was just alright but food was great. Service was also great, and everyone was friendly. Seems like a family run restaurant which we love.

The garlic knots! Yummy!

Tonight enjoyed a wonderful meal at Figlio starting with Kir Royale, focaccia & olive oil. Then…read moreenjoyed the Peasant 7 layer salad a classic. Our main dishes Chicken & Veggie pizza with Gorgonzola instead of feta and the lemon chicken pasta. Wow the chicken pasta was so good, fresh grilled chicken, mushrooms, spinach & melt in your mouth pasta, some of the best I've had outside of Italy Finished off with one of my favorite all time desserts chocolate mousse mmm good!

Took about 5 mins for someone to come to our table upon seating. She brought waters and we asked for a soda. The soda did not come for another 20 minutes (after we asked/reminded). Waitress also mentioned she was bringing bread to the table, which took another 10 minutes. Portion sizes are drastically smaller than they used to be. Peasant salad was extremely small and had huge pieces of the butt of the lettuce head. The pasta pictured is $22, and the dish was the size of my hand - also only had 3 strips of chicken breast. We alerted the waitress that 2 pepper shakers we tried to use seemed to be out of pepper, but we weren't offered a different shaker. We saw others being offered fresh cracked pepper for their salads, but we were not offered that option. Ambience was fine, but we were seated in a corner table out on the "covered patio" area of the restaurant, and we did not get much attention. Overall, disappointing experience from a service and quality/portion perspective.

This review will resemble many others here on Yelp. Ambiance and service was very good…read more Drinks were well made and balanced. Quickly served what should have been a nice half loaf of airy Italian bread. Please see pic in manhandled squashed bread. Not exactly appealing or appetizing with the hand and thumbprint left in the loaf. Entrees were served in a reasonable time. Shrimp Spaghetti was fine. Nothing remarkable about it that would make me order it again. The chicken Marsala was quite disappointing. The only thing cooked well was the asparagus. Two small breasts were over grilled, easily happens to breasts 1/4" thick and they couldn't even come up with enough Marsala sauce to cover them?!? I guess 2 slices of mushroom in the sauce were generous. The cafeteria ice cream scoops of mashed potatoes were a nice touch. I had to actually laugh when my plate was set in front of me. What upscale restaurant serves mashed potatoes using a scoop? Cold dense and had a lumpy weird texture. Felt like they added cold mash to hot mash and tried mixing them together. The cafeteria quality food doesn't match the decor or cost of the entree. The deal is if you are charging an avg of $30 a plate in Dayton for Italian entrees you better up your game. Brio really doesn't. Hopefully new people continue to come here because I think repeat customers will be hard to come by. I can't say I have a convincing reason to return which is unfortunate because everything else is set up for success. But if your primary function is to deliver Italian dishes at a higher price point than the local competition your food has to be better and customers have a higher expectation for what we are paying for. In Brio you may find better elsewhere but you'll never pay more. Sorry Brio, one and done for us.

I'm so disappointed, we arrived at brio today at 2:15 and sat on the patio. It was our 16 year…read moreanniversary and we wanted to have a special lunch. Unfortunately it was very lackluster. We had the inside bartender as our waiter, there was only one other table on the patio and no one at the bar. I'm not sure why this became the ridiculous experience it did. We ordered water, Diet Coke and a miller lite. We must of sat waiting for 25 minutes for just that. Finally I went in and said can we please get our drinks and bread ? Bartender told me - So sorry, we're trying to figure out the new computer system. We were told they were out of Miller , so I asked for a house wine. And the bread was in the oven. We ordered side salad that arrived with wilted iceberg $8 each and had no dressing on it and received No bread- I asked again for bread. He said still in the oven.... 40 min after we arrived. We did get one piece of bread at the 50 min mark after finishing our salads. My lasagna was good but my spouse's chicken caprese had little pesto and no flavor. The bartender said I know you've been here forever with service being sub par so desert is on me. We were not at any point offered refills on drinks or bread... When our bill arrived- He charged us for both desserts and said he forgot what he said about complementary... And just laughed!!! Our whole experience was the worst I've had in years ! Our bill was $100 and it took 2 hours and 10 minutes total. I will never return to Brio at the Greene in Beavercreek Ohio.
