(Not the whole brood) if you read my previous review, the following may make more sense. Smaller tables (including us) are sat in the dining room that features a beautiful large bar in the center. The bar seats many and is elevated from the dining room. The dining room has high windows that overlook the golf course, with a fireplace and is so much quieter. When passing through the buffet/large party room, to our table, it was a madhouse. Large tables, large families and lines of people at the food stations. The brunch at Polo Fields is popular. The food is excellent. The service was a marked improvement this visit. We saw the same waitress throughout our visit. Water and coffee was filled by an assistant that was on top of the refills in the room. We also enjoyed the drink specials available. Crepes, smoke salmon, salads, prime rib and ham, but don't forget the wall of desserts! This visit, there were always plates to be had and hot coffee in our cups. It was excellent food and a wonderful brunch experience. Our meal was comp but we paid for the drinks and my husband tipped her generously (~$40) as we would have if charged. I would describe the menu as limited, there are entree's, salads, soups, sandwiches and specials, however the options just don't excite the palate. The quality of the food is ok. Pricing is high, considering entrees do not include any sides, those are all carte. They serve a basket of really good focaccia bread with Italian seasoning for each table. This too is limited as you cannot get additional orders of the bread, not even to purchase. They have the customary fish fry Fridays and other specials as listed on their website. Reservations are required as they are limiting capacity. The host and waitstaff were all properly masked and gloved. Poor things looked so uncomfortable, as it was a muggy evening. The view from the deck is beautiful though the seating isn't the most comfortable. Plastic tables and chairs; some with umbrellas, are all well-spaced. I guess it's good enough for the season but for a yacht club, I would expect it to be a bit more comfortable and less casual. There wasn't a dress code so it was fine. Our server, Elena, was the absolute best. Super sweet, upbeat, hustler that kept the drinks full, anticipated your needs and made some great recommendations. I had the prime rib and husband had the Reuben. The sandwich was good, he reported. Nothing to get excited about but was enjoyable. The prime rib was not seasoned enough. The aus ju was seasoned beef broth and helped, as well as, the horseradish. Prices were reasonable but I would be much happier if they worked on their wine list. It was okay. Needs an update. Generous pours and the Mai Tai was excellent. Elena can sling a drink for sure. I think she hand stuffed my olives too. The facilities were once pretty cool but now are in need of some serious updating. Still a functional place but pretty dated. Great space for events, indoor and outdoor. Huge windows, hardwood floors, and great views. The membership rates are reasonable and we will consider more than a social membership next season.

Golf balls struck both my and other vehicles while driving west down the city street of E. Stadium…read moreBlvd with such force that my windshield is now totaled. The concussive impact while I was in motion driving sounded like my car had been shot with a gun. Had any of these golf balls hit a person in the head they would likely be dead. Police report made with Ann Arbor city police. I went over to The Ann Arbor Golf and Outing and spoke with the *district manager* who was there on duty sitting with a group of men at the golf clubhouse bar. I requested a word with him and showed him the fresh damage to my vehicle. He stated that they have no contingency plan to prevent balls from going over their fence and striking cars or people saying it just happens sometimes with bad shots. I pointed out that once should be more than enough to look into preventative solutions and that other vehicles had been struck by different golf balls in the same time frame as Ann Arbor Police were already on scene taking report from other drivers who's vehicles were struck and damaged while driving down the busy city street. I reminded the Golf and Outing Club manger that the stretch of E. Stadium Blvd directly in front of them is also directly in front of The University of Michigan's Big House Stadium and is frequented regularly by an enormously high volume of pedestrians including children on a daily basis. When I asked him directly if preventative safety would be initiated by him now alerting the golfers to be careful, the Ann Arbor Golf and Outing Club district manager laughed saying that they were currently having a tournament and he would absolutely *not* tell his golfers to shoot more carefully. Clearly transmitting and demonstrating the attitude of not caring at all about the avoidable danger the Ann Arbor Good and Outing district manager then just strolled away from me back to the golf clubhouse bar. Speaking with my auto insurance provider I am told the smallest amount of money it is going cost to repair my completely totaled windshield will be $500 out-of-pocket. For our household that is not insignificant. Maybe it is laughable for the district manager at the Golf and Outing golf club and its members, but it's certainly not a joke for our single mother household. Anyone who golfs there should understand completely that Ann Arbor Golf & Outing Club is fully aware and not at all bothered or concerned about pedestrian safety or automotive safety whatsoever. Someone is going to get seriously injured/die from being struck with a golf ball unless the Ann Arbor Golf and Outing Club agrees to address their safety failure. The fact that they were so nonchalant in caring or expressing any care about safety of people on a public street really was shockingly impressive.

My boyfriend plays on a Sunday night league here. The place itself is state of the art and extremely spacious and clean. I've been to so many rinks where cleanliness goes out of the window and the establishment only cares about the amount of people on the ice. Not here! Employees are always smiling and they seem genuine that they love their job. The rinks itself are rather cold, but it's to be expected if you're watching a hockey game after all. I recommended a hoodie and a blanket if you're watching from the stands (which aren't that comfy, let's be honest!) An arcade is on site if you're here for a party and the cafe is filled with snacks to help your grumbling stomach. Cash only though! I look forward to exploring and having more fun here in the future!

They had a great setup with a buffet of apps and cheeses. The cheeses were a bit boring in my book but the hot dips and crackers and crab cakes were utterly fantastic. The green salads were fresh but unremarkable. Service did well for such a large gathering though. The mains we had to choose from ahead of time were chicken marsala, a vegetarian risotto or filet and sea bass. Well duh. The filet was fantastic, perfect medium rare with good char on the outside. The sea bass was melt in your mouth with a delicious beurre blanc. People who went marsala seemed sad upon viewing the combo but the vegetarian raved about hers. Dessert was a sundae bar. Just vanilla ice cream. Lots of fun toppings but more ice cream flavors would have made it epic. Coffee was served and was happy, especially after a few vodka and sodas with a splash of cran. For an event it was pretty great.

The greens staff and crew are hard working and know how to maintain a challenging course. The dining room has a nice balance of elegance and homeless. I never had a bad meal there. Prices are reasonable. The tennis courts and swimming pool I can't comment on because I never used them The number one positive about the Barton Hills CC is the intrinsic location. Barton Hills is actually hilly. It's not a flaky developer's name. My only regret is that I can't afford to join, but I had many of the best times of my life there. Join if you can afford it. It's a gem.
