I was very nervous and thought I had cockroaches. Lucas came over, on time, and I explained the whole history. He gave me the time. Last fall, I spotted insects hanging around in my unfinished basement. A few came into my kitchen and bathrooms, but were gone by the end of October. This year, I had more, and with the rainy October, the warm early November weekend, that dud not help. I wound up lowering the heat in my house because U dud not want to heat up the basement with the oil burner. I also limited my use of the space heater I have. In short, Lucas calmed me down and explained it was crickets. Even though we went up and down the house and I said I had used Raid, and tge crickets were now dead, he still told me what to do. bait traps, get a dehumidifier. He gave me his card and said I can send him a picture if I am unsure what insect it is. I knew it was a free inspection, but still pinchong myself I did not have to oay for the time he gave me. As a note,,I had submitted a request the Sunday after Thanksgiving, hot a call back in an hour, and Lucas came Monday afternoon. I definitely recommend Lucas and will use Surburban again if the unexpected crops up...which I have a hunch it will with this fast changing weather on Long Island now.​ read more

I am new to the setauket area. It is very woodsy with a lot of tick activity. Having a small child and two dogs, we contacted Suburban for an estimate. They were very helpful and knowledgeable over the phone, and gave me an estimate based ont he size of my property. the estimate seemed a little high, so I reached out and had the opportunity to have Jason work with me directly. He was extremely professional and kind hearted. Jason took the time to re evaluate my original phone estimate and revised the treatment based on more information about the property. It saved me a considerable amount off the original quote. Vickio who performed the treatment was absolutely wonderful. He took the time to walk through everything with us and to listen to our concerns before doing anything. Especially in these crazy times, it was so refreshing to receive such white glove treatment from Jason and his team at suburban! It can often be so much easier to just say 'no' to a customer, but jason and his team took the extra time to go above and beyond and make sure everything was perfect. I've never wrote a review, but my experience was disgusting. Backstory: I have waterfowl as pets, and we seem to have found some rat holes near the coop. I called and was told that Collin would be coming to give a free estimate. The first day he was supposed to come he never showed up between the time period I was given and I needed to cancel. I rescheduled and when I did meet him it was a nightmare. Collin was rude, speaking over me, talking down to me, and questioning me inappropriately. He questioned if I was the homeowner, which I am not but my dad was aware that he was coming, however, couldn't be there at the time. He questioned if I could even afford the services and if I would be the one paying. I am absolutely disgusted, I had to ask him why he had such an attitude. This was a horrible experience. Having a pest problem like rats is already embarrassing enough and to have an experience like this made it ten times worse. I don't know what making this review will achieve, however, I do wish that Collin the inspector will learn to come to these visits with more compassion and understanding. Thank you. read more

We recently moved into our second home on LI. As our previous house and this one are older, we have encountered various pest problems in both. Suburban Exterminating serviced our previous house, and because the relationship had been quite good, we brought them with us to our current house. Today's visit by technician Victor was to treat our shrubs and under deck areas for mosquitoes, and treat our foundation for ants. When I told him that we had seen sugar ants in our second floor bathroom, he treated that with an non-toxic gel as well. He was consistently polite, efficient and careful. He explained everything he did, and left us with tear sheets on all the pesticides he used. We have been very satisfied with our multi-year relationship with Suburban Exterminating. I am proactive in managing the relationship with all our contractors and service people, including Suburban. I am home when they come and I engage with all the technicians. So completely impressed with this company. We had an issue with birds in our attic last weekend. We contacted our former pest control company, JC Ehrlich to come out for an emergency call, which didn't happen. So we made an appointment to seal off the space the following Monday, which ended in a no-show from Ehrlich. A phone call to the office ended with a notification us that our $800 annual fee didn't cover birds, we were never on the schedule & there was no availability for weeks anyways. We immediately called Suburban. Kahn, one of the company's representatives came out, took a look at the attic informed us that the birds were gone, then sealed the attic vent with screen mesh that we had on hand. We were charged absolutely nothing for this! Kahn was extremely informative, thorough & personable. I've been a Suburban customer for many years and have always recognized them for their professional, knowledgeable and customer-focused technicians. Waking up on a Saturday morning recently to a swarm of yellow jackets in my home, I called customer service for an appointment. Within a few hours, technician John Walsh was at my door. He quickly assessed the situation and was able to strategically place a piece of painters tape over the entry point, which was very difficult to reach due to its location on a vaulted ceiling. He called a "troubleshooter" technician to assist with reaching and treating the outdoor entry point/nest which was at the second story level. Technician Imran Khan arrived and inspected the interior wall. After patiently providing a detailed explanation of the problem and recommended treatment, Imran treated the area from outside. So, I unfortunately had my husband call an exterminator. He called Suburban they had transferred him to the sales department...I don't know who he spoke to but they got Kevin a salesman here the same day. I was very upset to have these little critters so we signed the contract. Next day Dominic showed up and went above and beyond. the next day Jill called and followed up on the technicians work and two days later Matt another technician showed up to follow up. Things were going Great! A week after there was no appointment and no call? Did they forget me? I called the Manager Dona, she restored my faith in the company. I was told a follow up was set for 2 weeks out from the last follow up but she moved the appointment up immediately and scheduled me another follow up in a few days. I took on a lot buying my first house at 24 and quickly realized a lot of people will take advantage of new home owners. Suburban Exterminating is not one of those people. By far the best value of any company I have used at my house. I realized I had a wasp problem when I was doing some electrical work in my attic. I called as a new customer on a Sunday and they had Jim/James over in less than an hour. He did an amazing job and realized I had a bigger problem than I originally thought. He openly told me he was going to come back next week and check incase he wasn't able to get all the wasps. YOU NEVER SEE COMPANIES OR TECHNICIANS DOING THAT. I recently signed up with Surburban because of a problem with mice. I am very impressed with the staff, from the receptionists to the dispatchers and the experts. I'm especially pleased with the technician, Joe M, who came to my house the first time. He came, listened to my concerns, calmed me down and set the traps. He explained where he saw the problem and he was right. In addition, he plugged up all the holes he saw outside the house where they could be coming in. After 1 1/2 weeks, the mice were captured and have not reappeared. It's been about 5 months. Today, he came for a routine spraying - ants, and little spiders. He is very thorough and professional. We've been using Suburban Exterminating for over 2 years now for general insect control and also to get rid of the mice in our basement. The service technicians are always good and courteous. Besides spraying inside to prevent insects, they remove any dead mice they find in the basement and replace the bait in the stations around the perimeter of our house. This past week I needed someone to remove yet another dead mouse and the technician who was assigned, Imran Kahn, was exceptional. Not only did he do that, he was proactive and went above & beyond what he was required to do by taking the time to look around the outside of our home to determine how the mice were getting into our house in the first place. This company is the best!! I had a very bad ant problem this year they were both inside and outside my house like I've never had them before. I called suburban and then sent their technician named Julius who was extremely polite and professional. He came to my door explained everything he was going to do and gave me paperwork on all of the chemicals they would be using that day. He advised me to turn my water sprinklers off for 24hours so that it didn't wash what they sprayed away. When he was finished he came back to the front door and reiterated what he did and told me he was able to successfully spray my whole property. Let me tell you they only had to come that one time and since then I have not seen ONE ant!!! I cannot recommend this company enough!! They really did a great job!! read more

I cannot commend our technicians Robert Capolino and Brandon Chambers enough. They were highly professional and extremely knowledgeable of our insect problem. They immediately put my mind at ease which is important when you have no control of a situation such as insects. They treated my house as if it where their own, and took the time and extreme care to eradicate my problem. I realized I needed to take care of a termite issue that I thought had been solved. Mike immediately came to give the house a thorough evaluation. From my house, he was able to arrange an exterminator to come that day. Glenn tweaked his schedule to fit me in. He was clearly an expert, showing me evidence I would not have found. He installed the Sentricon system around the house, which will kill the colony. The price was very reasonable for the service and the continued assurance with the warranty. Both Mike and Glenn were thorough in explaining the process and situation. They were professional, helpful, and super-effective at getting the job done. Wes Halstead, the lead exterminator tech is OUTSTANDING! He sincerely cares about his customers and goes above and beyond the usual service afforded. He was laying down outside on the ground in the rain, plugging a hole into my home where we were experiencing a major problem. You do not generally find service people who are that dedicated. I've used this company for rats outside my house, and mice inside. They eliminated my problems efficiently and effectively. Every technician who's been to my house has been extremely informative, taking the time to answer any questions I had, and going further to explain their process and products. Excellent customer service. Quick response and very helpful. They tell you upfront that they evaluate, suggest appropriate treatment, and allow the client to make their decision without any pressure. Mark Kristol came to evaluate the very the next day; he asked a few questions and patiently answered MANY questions I had. He was HONEST and after evaluating the home determined that the bugs were coming in from outside and no further measures needed to be taken. He provided his card and told us we could contact him at any time if we should have any other questions. I recently called Suburban Exterminating to investigate what I thought was a mice problem in my bedroom wall. I had had exterminators come in the past and they simply put out traps. I was very fortunate to have Mike Silberstein as my inspector. He did a thorough inspection of the entire house, inside and outside. He found no evidence of mice or rats and did not charge me for a service I did not need. I really appreciated his honesty as other companies have had no problem charging me for a service that I did not need. He also helped me with a hornets nest and gave me excellent advice.
