Can't stand by their work…read more Recently had put Jackman's installed boiler serviced for the 4th time in as many years, and were told by the technician that helped us (he's very good, and I won't disparage his work) that the repair would not cost us a thing, as it was to fix a problem caused by a different technician's faulty work on installation. Lo and behold, we then received a bill for $180 for the service call. The office personnel wouldn't hear our argument about what the technician had quoted us. This wasn't the first call for a repair caused by their own shoddy installation of our boiler, either. Within the first year, we had to have a fan in the unit replaced as it was installed with wires rubbing against the fan blades. Another $180 to fix that, and nearly some very cold days spent waiting for a part with no heat. Go elsewhere.

Dead River paid 1/2 of the cost to replace it but it still cost us $1500 out of pocket due to their technician destroying our water heater. Then we were told we would not be billed for their service and yet they sent us a bill. So evidently that was a lie, and even after speaking with a representative, they told me it had to be paid. It was on the weekend in winter and not pleasant to spend several days without heat. I stayed with Dead River propane until the driver refused to fill the tank when he said I had an illegal match lit oven. Rather than disconnect the stove he shut off delivery leaving me with no hot water or clothes dryer. It took me a few weeks to get hot water from a different propane provider. I can't recommend Dead River. Customer service leaves a lot to be desired.
