My condition required a 5 day hospitalization. Prior to seeing Dr, Kirk I had seen a different MD because Kirk Eye Center was closed. That MD minimized my concern and misdiagnosed my condition. When I saw Dr. Kirk he listened to my concern and did a thorough examination. In addition to being an excellent clinician, he has a very good bedside manner. I've recently had cataract removal in both eyes and now have excellent vision without glasses. Again he took the time to determine the type of activities I am involved in to make a recommendation for the type of lens to insert. The procedures were absolutely pain free even though I just received a sublingual anesthetic . I highly recommend Dr. Kirk.

It's your classic 90s weird patterned vinyl chairs. The optical store was closed. It is a huge office space. There were signs posted on the plexiglass at the reception desk, such that you could not see who you were talking to, so that was also weird. The technician and optometrist were really nice though. Even though my appointment started 10 minutes late, they were quick and efficient and I was able to get out of there within the hour. I paid for parking, since it was unclear whether the spots behind the building were available for customers to use. I don't know if I'd come back only because I'd rather be able to walk to appointments over driving, but would recommend in terms of how easy it was.

5 stars for the doc, less a couple for the waiting…read more I've seen Dr. Springer twice in the last year. He is a good guy and seems like a competent, on-top-of-it doctor. I feel like he listens to me and conveys critical information to me in a respectful and clear way. He's been good about communicating with my other doctors who need test results. However, for the love of pete I do not think you should have to spend two hours in a doctor's office to undergo routine exams. One hour, sure. I have gone through this twice now but I haven't figured out what the deal is -- the first time I was told weekend holdouts had called in on Monday morning and had gotten fit in, causing the delay. But it was the same situation on a Wednesday. So, by all means, go see Dr. Springer.... if you have a lot of free time. Maybe the Lake Street office is more streamlined, or making an early morning appointment would help.
