That might not seem like a long time, but there was only two cars in drive-thru and no one else waiting. I used to work at McDonald's. Even when I had to cook the patties on the grill, I could still get the order out in fewer than five minutes. Now, everything is supposed to be pre-cooked. It should not take five minutes. However, this one did. And I can tell you they did nothing correctly. The hashbrown was lukewarm and greasy. It was either pulled from the fryer before it was fully cooked or the fryer wasn't the correct temperature. It was inedible. The McMuffin was even worse. The cheese on it was ice cold. The sausage patty itself was lukewarm. The muffin wasn't even toasted. The egg was room temperature, too. I ate two bites and cast it to the wildlife on the side of the road. I'm betting even they would pass on that disaster. There was not one redeemable quality about that meal. I do not get McDonald's very much. Maybe two or three times a year. When I do get it, it's because I still acknowledge the fact that the sausage McMuffin with Egg, when it's served hot and fresh, is easily the best breakfast sandwich on the market. It is without peer when it's properly served. The McDonald's in Mount Horeb has always been terrible, and they ruined my Tuesday morning by serving up a joke of a sandwich. I frankly thought this place would have been closed years ago due to incompetence and a lack of cleanliness. The Corporate Overlords have clearly been derelict in their duties to improve the performance of this smoking crater of a restaurant. Avoid at all costs.
