I ordered a bowl of the clam chowder and honestly, that has to be top 3 clam chowder's I've had, and that's saying a lot considering I've had a lot of clam chowder up in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Being right on the water is great. They had live music. Good sized bar. Even the restrooms were well done. Cleanliness: Grade B. The place is clean for the most parts. Staff is regularly cleaning as needed. It wasn't insanely busy, but staff stayed busy doing what needed to be done. The only place that could have been improved were the restrooms. The countertop looked like they used a floor mop to clean it. Recommendation: use a clean rag to wipe it down and don't leave it streaky. The menu: grade B. Decent menu. We really appreciated that they had a gluten free menu to accommodate dietary issues. The food: - appetizers: Grade B-. The gator bites were very good; however, they were a little over battered and over fried. Salads were good. Oysters were great! The clam chowder though was a bit of a disappointment. It was unfortunately bland in flavor and had a slight burned undertone, as if it were the bottom of the pot. - entrees: Grade D+. We ordered numerous dishes and got mixed results. If they are worried about internal temps, turn the heat down! Taste test regularly. Pasta sauces need some work. Take another try with the scampi and red sauce. Server staff was great.
