Well... almost everything. =) This little restaurant was one of the only places we could find open, and by the time we arrived, it was obvious the manager and his small crew were already preparing themselves for the tidal wave of hungry travelers that was about to descend upon them. And honestly, I have to give them tremendous credit. While most people were home gathered around tables with family, turkey, and pumpkin pie, this small group of hardworking people had chosen to spend their Thanksgiving feeding complete strangers passing through town. One of the staff members helping was the manager's daughter, and despite the growing crowd and nonstop activity, everyone maintained such genuinely positive attitudes that the entire place felt unexpectedly uplifting. The manager himself took time to speak with us and shared how grateful he was for the kindness and generosity shown by the owners of the establishment. There was something deeply sincere and humble about the conversation that stayed with me long after we left. It reminded me that there are still genuinely good-hearted people out there quietly doing the right thing without fanfare. As for the food, we kept things simple -- burgers, fries, and onion rings. Nothing particularly fancy, but perfectly passable for a Thanksgiving travel lunch. But honestly, the food was not what made this stop memorable. It was the spirit of the place. Kansas is often considered part of the American heartland, and sitting there on Thanksgiving Day watching exhausted travelers, hardworking employees, and grateful customers all crossing paths together somehow felt like a small glimpse into the kindness and resilience that still exists quietly across the country. By the time we got back on the road, I found myself oddly thankful we had stopped there at all. Sometimes the places you remember most are not the luxurious ones. Sometimes they are simply the places that made you feel welcomed when you needed it most.

Sammy the manager came out to the eating area to make sure everyone in the dining room was enjoying their meal. Even sole good conversation. I'll definitely be back again. Excellent experience and highly recommended.

Whomever is at the drive thru in the mornings has been exceptionally rude for over a month now. Today, she said she couldn't hear my husband. So he spoke up. When he ordered my burrito, he had audibly stated no jalapeños. I heard him. Our son heard him. He wasn't whispering. He was talking the same he would going through any drive thru. And we've never had issues. When she read our order back. We had noticed she didn't repeat no jalapeños. So my husband just goes "oh. That should have no jalapeños on it". And she goes "Well she already made it". Okay ma'am. You learn working fast food that what the customer orders is what they get. I ended up speaking up and I said "he did say no peppers". She goes "well we didn't hear that". So we just pull up to the window, pay, and as we're leaving. This woman really looks at us and nastily says "you need to learn how to speak up". I'm sorry. She's been rude for so long. And I just couldn't do it today. Every other day I just smile and go about my day. But it's just ridiculous.
