We walked in around 11:30 a.m. There was only one other customer (a dad and his son) and the person who walked in just before us, who appeared to either be a friend or a regular, based on how all three employees greeted her. While they were extremely friendly to her, we weren't acknowledged at all--not even a simple "We'll be right with you." Instead, the employees stood there for more than five minutes talking about how business was, how they slept, what they did over the weekend, melatonin, and other personal topics. During that time, no one took our order or made any effort to help us. After waiting, I finally said, "If you guys are going to keep having a conversation, can we at least order our coffee and get that started?" They looked at me like I had said something unreasonable. One employee, who was sitting at a table near the counter coloring, muttered something under her breath, and they still didn't take our order. Instead, they continued their conversation. At that point, we left. This experience was completely unacceptable. Great customer service starts with acknowledging people when they walk through the door, especially when your shop is nearly empty. Unfortunately, this first impression ensured we won't be back, and I can't recommend this business to others.

The place was smaller than it looked but it was packed with goodies from fresh meats, cheeses, sausages etc with a frozen side filled with homemade and not homemade items to cook at home. One thing that I always look for is the homemade meat sticks and anything jalapeño or hot will be my first choice, they had jalapeño and cheddar. I'm always bitching that if I want a real chicken fried steak I have to make it my self because virtually no one does because there the frozen crap, they have a homemade take home package of 4 that I snapped up but have yet to cook. The jalapeño and cheddar sticks were so on point with nice chunks of cheddar and jalapeños, dam I only bought one package. The take and cook country fried steak package finally got its turn and I must say that it was the best prepared take home frozen country fried steak I have had. They cook super fast and have a tasty crunchy batter with a tender moist center to my surprise. I'm really starting to hate my take a cooler while traveling to bring home items that I can't get where I live because there is great stuff out there and I'm probably never going to get them again because every trip is different. I would really like to come this way again and stop here so I could grab some more items. All in all this was another great county meat market that does what it does well and the whole reason that I now search them out when I'm away from home. I actually went back to this establishment a few times because I wanted to give Stout's Irish Pub the benefit of the doubt. I thought maybe the first experience was just an off day for the waitresses. Unfortunately, after going back, I realized it wasn't a one-time thing. Each time, I've found the service to be rude, dismissive, and generally unwelcoming. There seems to be a select group of staff who are very close with certain customers and will spend their time talking with and befriending them, while other customers are seemingly ignored. I've also noticed staff spending a lot of time on their phones or sitting at the bar instead of checking on customers. The overall attitude from some of the staff gives off major "mean girl" energy. It's especially noticeable because there was a newer staff member during my most recent visit who was genuinely kind, attentive, and good at her job. I really enjoyed interacting with her, and she honestly stood out from the rest in the best way. The food is just okay and, in my opinion, lacks flavor. If you order it to go, expect it to be pretty soggy by the time you get home. I gave this place multiple chances because I really wanted to like it, but unfortunately the repeated poor service and mediocre food have completely turned me off. I won't be returning.
