Been comming to this subway for a decade and have NEVER had issues as a local, except for now.... the older gentleman who made the sandwiches for my friends and I was horriibly rude. The store was empty and there was no line, so when one of us took some time to read the menu, the employee loud and aggressively said "it's been 50 years and the menu hasn't changed". We had a coupon and it seemed as though he wasn't going to honor even though it had scanned. Luckily the second employee was gentler and honored our coupon. Food was fine as far as subway goes, but the staff was very very unwelcoming. The loud one made a rude comment about a border patrol who walked by outside by making fun of his hat and his walk. All around uncomfortable and definitely NOT how our beautiful North Woods community stands to treat people. i still cant believe it this subway stole $15.87 from me tonite at 6:55 pm. i placed a mobile order for (2) footlong meatball subs with 10% tip using coupon code BOGO50 at 6:40 pm sunday july 16th 2023 . anyway, the order went thru fine on the app it gave me an estimated pick-up time of 6:55 pm AND CHARGED MY CASH APP DEBIT CARD $15.87. but what happens when i show up to pick up my order? the 2 angry rude 40 something grand marais subway sandwich makers claiim "they never got the order". so 1st i try and show the angry man my phone with the charge on it timed at 6::40 and he actually physically threatens me under his breath like a coward i mean be a man and threaten me to my face if your gonna go there over a sandwich. tinkerbell ha. anyway, then the coward rudely pushes me off on the angry woman and she is just as much fun because she wont even look at the order on my phone and tells me rudely 3x's "it didnt show up so tough luck" . i dont know what they did to make my order disappear between 6:40 and 6:55 but the anger from both of them like that was really a surprise at the time but now hours later i guess if i was in my 40s like they both were still making sandwiches at subway on a sunday night id be angry too maybe lol. and for the record ive ordered atleast a dozen other times from this location over the years during the summer with no problem before from several other employees who werent whiny little 40+ little babies like these working tonite. but they definitely lost me as a customer wow read more

This Subway is under new ownership. What a refreshing change! Awesome service, open Sundays, and nice remodel! Every complaint I had in the previous review is no longer valid. One minor thing improvement: please microwave the eggs on the breakfast subs. Otherwise, the egg gets cold quickly. Other than that, perfect! I'll definitely be back! read more

This is the worst Subway ever. The lady accused some older people of stealing when a guys wife took a sip of his pop. She would not give a guy with three kids some extra napkins. She was totally stingy with all the toppings. I had to ask 5 times to get more onions because their idea of onions is literally 2 small pieces on a 12" sandwich. The staff was great and had no problem adding ingredients to my sandwich when I asked for them ( I'm on weight watchers so I needed extra 0 point veggies)! AWFUL. the staff was not friendly nor professional. 3 members of my family including myself ordered salads like we have before at many other locations, but this time the employees did not chop up the salad...the cucumbers, tomatoes, and bacon were left totally whole and they gave me literally about 1/4 cup of lettuce....on a SALAD. definitely not worth the $10. when normally, all of the contents of the salad are thrown into a bowl the size of a mixing bowl and the contents are tossed, chopped and then scooped into a portable salad container. then we look down the row and they were serving other customers and completely passed up my dad as he was trying to wait his turn. ordering was a total mess. this staff is obviously not trained well at all. not to mention the BUGS that we saw crawling around while we were trying to eat our three shreds of lettuce and whole cucumbers.....y'all need to get a hold of this location. read more

Fair service and the food is like every Subway. The BIG disappointment: they do NOT accept Subway coupons, unless they are from "local market". I attempted to use a coupon that I received with my newspaper (from the Twin Cities) and was told they wouldn't accept it, even though it wasn't expired and it was for $1 off a meal deal. I stopped by to order sandwiches for my construction crew. After ordering five sandwiches the lady behind the counter objected to a request to individually wrap in thirds one sandwich. She refused to do it based on the cost of one piece of paper additional to wrap the sandwich. I could not believe that she would actually argue with me over a .10 issue. So she charged me an additional $.10 and happily wrapped my sandwich and thirds it is so ridiculous to even have to discuss such a menial thing but it made me angry. This point it really doesn't matter if the sandwiches are good or not it is how poorly I was treated as a customer that sticks in my mind. read more

I cannot believe the rudeness I experienced while ordering a sandwich, from a woman who refused to give me her name, that later stated she was the OWNER! It started out when I talked about using my phone coupon- they don't accept them. Then I asked to put the vegetables on the side of the sandwich so it wouldn't get the bread soggy as the intent was to eat the foot long tomorrow. They would not do so. They would not wrap the cut halves separately. They would not add extra napkins. The owner said she could not make me happy, I told her she was correct. She was going to refuse me the ability to buy a sandwich! I have lived on Subways at least once a week, NEVER have I experienced such utter disregard or distain from Subway management. went to this subway as passing threw town and got my sub cold even after they toasted it so ask for it to be microwaved and the sandwich had not been open yet and they refuse to heat it up for me in a very rude way and was so surprised. they said cant take food back after been over the counter and i said ok can you refund my money which they did but then wanted to start a new sub that heated better and they refused to serve me. i was shocked and confused by this all i wanted was a hot sub and they could not do that and never met someone so rude. subway needs to know this they dont need this lady kinda wrecking there name at all. read more
