I always get good food. It's clean in the dining area. Katie and the other employees are always super nice.

I'd heard about Oklahoma's famous onion burgers for years, but somehow never managed to try one. With a conference taking place across the street, Tucker's gave me the perfect opportunity to finally check that box. I'll be honest--burgers usually aren't something I seek out unless there's something unique about them. This was different. The Oklahoma onion burger absolutely lived up to the hype. Simple, messy, flavorful, and a great example of a regional specialty done right. The staff was courteous, the service was quick, and my food was out before I knew it. In fact, it was so good I ended up tucking my tie into my shirt to keep it out of the way. If you look closely at my photo, you'll spot my tie bar sitting on the table after I surrendered to the inevitable. The napkin dispenser's warning--"You're going to need them"--turned out to be pretty accurate. No regrets at all. If I'm back in Norman, I'll happily stop in again. If you're visiting Oklahoma and want to try something that's actually part of the local food culture, Tucker's is worth the visit.

Part 6 - After watching Good Mythical Morning (GMM) with Rhett and Link as they did a blind taste…read moretest of chicken tenders. After tasting the tenders at Carl's Jr. I had to see how the local tender specialists fared. I ordered the 3pc combo ($6.90) which comes with 3 tenders, fries, Texas toast, and a medium drink - oh and the Cane's signature sauce. Opening the container, the tenders were piping hot and steamy. They were really fresh and let's get into the taste Tenders: Moistness - 10 Seasoning - 4 Crunch - 10 Overall - 8 These tenders were hot and they had the crunch and the moistness that makes a great tender but they fell flat on their face in terms of seasoning. Halfway through the second tender, I was reaching for the sauce to save me. I held off though, I wanted to give them a fair chance to make sure it wasn't just an off tender. I reach for the third and take a bite and it's the same story. Where did the seasoning go (no salt, no pepper) - just a very light crispy breading and chicken smell and taste but no depth. I dunk the rest of the tender in the sauce and man it was better, but the sauce is very salty and it was almost too much to handle. That's right, it went from 0 to 5000 in a single bite because the sauce is just way too salty. If they can fix the seasoning, they will have a tender that is just as good as Carl's Jr. The fries were crispy, hot, and fresh. They had a bit of salt on them but they could have added a bit more. The number of fries in the box was lacking, especially for the price. The Texas toast was money! It had a wonderful toasty crust with a rich buttery salty (but not too salty) goodness that I wished was on the tenders. Knowing this, I should have stuffed a few tenders in the bread and eaten them this way but too late. Overall - after eating the regular from frozen thick coated tenders, I was looking for a tender that would hit a home run and this was more like a double. If I go back, I'm bringing some sauce with me. Compared to Freddy's the price is up there but you don't get nearly as many fries for the price. So far Carl's Jr. has the best value offering for the best tenders.
