If iced coffee is listed as an option, it would help if the staff were more familiar with how to prepare it. Our server had to come back and ask for clarification, and what I received felt more like a flavored iced coffee with a shot rather than a true iced double espresso. I also had to add my own cream, which made it seem like hot coffee might be more their specialty. The food itself was solid, though a bit on the pricey side. The scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, and toast were decent. The poached egg with salmon on grilled eggplant and arugula was tasty, and the home fries were a standout--unexpectedly excellent. Service was attentive and kind throughout, which I appreciated. However, the wait time after ordering was noticeably long, and there was a 3% convenience charge for using a debit card, which was noted on the receipt. I don't typically give less than 4 stars, but this feels like a place that could easily improve with some small adjustments.

They offer a limited number of draught beers, a decent size cocktail list, and, canned alcoholic beverages. What better way to keep cool by the pool than with frozen drinks. Most of the frozen drinks can be made non alcoholic. My favorite was the piña colada. I added an additional rum float for a few extra dollars. I tried the margarita and it could stand to have a lot more lime and a little salt. The strawberry daiquiri was also another favorite. They offer a well rounded food menu. The appetizer menu offered standard fare. Including wings and nachos. Need a little more sustenance? I recommend one of the burgers or sandwiches. Feeling like something a little bit light? I recommend one of the rice bowls. Served with rice and protein served southwest, elote, or stir fry. We went with the hotdog. I was excited about the lobster roll bun it's served it. The bun was perfectly crisp and the hot dog well grilled and tasty. The chicken tenders were just ok, a little on the dry side for my taste. But the fries made up for chicken. They were cut like chips. They were perfectly crisp and very well seasoned. The restaurant is covered outdoor with seating over looking the Gulf. The vibe is casual and no shoes no shirt is completely ok. The bartenders are friendly fast and efficient. This is definitely a good go to spot for drinks and treats when spending a day at the pool or beach.

The fish sandwich was one SMALL fish tender on a bun. I cut it in half and put it side by side to fill up the bun. Flavor was good though. Pina coladas were ok, tasted like a mix was used, but they were strong, so that made up for it. Beware 22% service fee when ordering to go!!

The restaurant has beach access so it is very convenient. When you come in, you can take an open seat and a staff member will come by quickly to take your drink orders. The vibe is an open air bar and grill with one table having a former life as a surfboard. You will notice that everything is served on disposable paper plates. These are very sturdy, and different sizes. Cutlery is also plastic and comes in a plastic bag. So, the Salty Rose is not trying to be anything more than the vibe implies. Also, I am sure that this is what the Salty Rose is so efficient. The best thing I had was the Gulf Fish Sandwich. The size of fish far exceeds the diameter of the bun. The bun was advertised as Brioche, but it seemed to be a standard hamburger bun. I say this because I had the Smash Burger (also good) and it was on a brioche bun. I learned that the lettuce and tomato caused the meat/fish to slide off and out of the bun, so I removed it. My wife and I split the quesadillas and they were excellent. I would recommend asking for additional Pico and a side of salsa. We also split the Chicken Nachos on two occasions. My wife had the salad twice and loved the lemon vinaigrette. A bonus is on the weekend, they had a live band. So if you are staying at the Pensacola Beach Resort, this is a great place to take a break from the beach for lunch!!

The menu is very limited. However my kid loved her Quesadilla and it came with fries. I had the blackened fish tacos (2) and they come with fries. I ordered the queso and oddly had to ask for chips. Which felt odd, given the price for a cup of queso. The outdoor fire pit was stunning and view worthy. I'd stop in for another cocktail again.
