We don't usually head east from our hotel, but we did this morning to try Cafe Bistro. Overall, the experience had some positives, but there are a few areas that could be improved. If iced coffee is listed as an option, it would help if the staff were more familiar with how to prepare it. Our server had to come back and ask for clarification, and what I received felt more like a flavored iced coffee with a shot rather than a true iced double espresso. I also had to add my own cream, which made it seem like hot coffee might be more their specialty. The food itself was solid, though a bit on the pricey side. The scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, and toast were decent. The poached egg with salmon on grilled eggplant and arugula was tasty, and the home fries were a standout--unexpectedly excellent. Service was attentive and kind throughout, which I appreciated. However, the wait time after ordering was noticeably long, and there was a 3% convenience charge for using a debit card, which was noted on the receipt. I don't typically give less than 4 stars, but this feels like a place that could easily improve with some small adjustments. read more

We arrived an hour after they opened. Ppl were leaving so it worked out great! We got the table By the window. Server was friendly and recommended her mother's favorite dish which I had to try! Plenty of coffee Pours, the same pancakes are super THICK, very filling! So pleased they offered GF Pancakes-what a treat! Don't waste your time Food was alright, but took an hour to come out after ordering and was only slightly warm. Asked a waitress about our food and it came out immediately after like it had been sitting there. Service was bad, server was not friendly. I understand this is a small restaurant and you can't seat many people at a time, but when all tables are filled you should have the amount of workers to handle all of the tables. They seemed understaffed for a morning breakfast rush. The people behind us were seated after us and got all of their food within 30 minutes of ordering. I guess I'm just not understanding why two orders of pancakes and a sausage biscuit would take an hour to come out. Very disappointing, will not be back. read more

The best meal I had during our vacation in Pensacola! My husband swung by one morning and grabbed us a couple of coffees and breakfast sandwiches to go. He came back to the condo and told me how cute the restaurant was and how friendly the staff was too. He ordered ahead and came in to pick up. They didn't make our coffee ahead of time because they wanted it to be as fresh as possible. It's a little thing, but those little things can make all the difference. We really appreciated the thought. We really wanted a good breakfast before hitting the road to go back home. A lot of places in Pensacola aren't open until 10 or later but Cafe Bistro was open and ready to serve! We already knew we liked it from our quick breakfast earlier in the week, so we decided to come back and dine in. It is a really small cafe with not a lot of seating and no space to wait on a table inside. We luckily got the last available booth back by the kitchen. Our waiter was great and so was the man who sat us and made our coffees. I feel like this restaurant is very family oriented and it seemed to run like a well-oiled machine. I ordered the steak and eggs which really hit the spot. The steak was great and the breakfast potatoes it came with were so well seasoned. My brother got strawberry banana pancakes. He said they were some of the best he's ever had, and you could just tell by seeing how thick and fluffy they were. In fact, he said that every meal a waiter carried past us looked like it belonged in a food magazine. My husband and I also ordered iced vanilla lattes and those really hit the spot. If we find ourselves in Pensacola again, I'd have 0 hesitations about coming here every single morning for breakfast. It was easily my favorite! read more

They had nearly no one in the place at lunch time and everything took forever to come out of the kitchen. One would think the food would be great having to wait forever, but no. The hamburger came out so bloody it had to go back. The Philly steak was so over cooked it crunched and was dry. SO DRY. The salad was just a bowl full of lettuce, two tiny tomatoes, and a couple of dried up pieces of chicken. Skip this place and go elsewhere. Service was ok. read more
