I love this place. Is the wait long? Yes, but grab a seat at the bar and have a couple drinks while you wait. You can't rush a good thing, right? We chilled at the bar, grabbed a couple appetizers and drinks while we waited for a table. We had the crab claws and grouper nuggets, both were super tasty but the grouper nuggets were amazing. After a an hour or so, our table was ready and we were seated on the covered patio. I had the fried shrimp po-boy and we split a whole lobster amongst the table. Everyone walked away stuffed and needing a nap. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu and I would encourage you to try something new!

Food and services were great! We tried a variety of items from raw oysters to the blackened group sandwich to fried crab claws to the Mahi Mahi topped Caesar salad and grouper nuggets. Just delicious. The only issue was the oppressive heat which was very surprising on the last day of May. The air just wasn't circulating and it was extremely hot.

Peg leg Pete's was super great! We started off with raw and baked oysters, they were both fabulous. Popcorn shrimp was decent. I also had a local beer and it was super good. I didn't catch the name but it was fabulous I had the special which was a red snapper- PHENOMENAL. My husband and FIL had the grouper and my MIL had the blackened chicken salad- they all loved the food. Baby wasn't feeling too great so she didn't really eat but I ordered her pb&j with corn so it's cool they have many options for kiddos. I will definitely be back to peg leg Pete's if I'm ever in the area again. Our server PHI was super cool, knowledgeable and nice and had an awesome vibe. The ambiance was cool with a pirate ship theme. Loved it!

Our food and service were amazing! Plus we had the corner table near the water so we could watch dock activity. We will go back the next time we are in town!

My family went to peg legs today for Father's day. There was about a 30 min wait. We didnt mind at all. The food was phenomenal, as always. But our waitress, Chandra, was AMAZING. She waa funny, personable, and just all around great!

Down stairs fried food is ok unless you get sea food then it's amazing, upstairs everything is amazing, loud, fun servers, and great for all ages, frozen drink menu is Iconic.

We spotted this place from the balcony of our Airbnb and were enthralled by the number of cars there every day and night. Would definitely recommend the waitlist, if available. There was about a 40 minute wait so we tried the down stairs area which had immediate seating. This area offered a limited menu; however they had an entire and okay area for children, live music and bay side views. We opted for the oyster sampler and the crab / crab plate. My husband is from Louisiana, we were expected more of a boil flavor. They steam and provide Old Bay seasoning, plus melted butter.

Wow! What a pleasant surprise! Abigail started the night with her energetic and friendly demeanor and provided exceptional service. The seafood platter and the gumbo were the best we ever had at a restaurant. The seafood was so fresh and the fish was so big and flaky. The shrimp and scallops, although not the largest, were so fresh and perfectly fried. The parmesan oysters and oyster rockefeller were good but had too much topping. We are used to the grilled parmesan like in Louisiana but these are baked. Personally the oysters were good and didn't need too much done to them. There is no doubt we will be back because the service, food and prices are so worth it. Wish we lived closer!

A must on our yearly trip to Pensacola Beach! I've never had a bad dinner here. It's always very fresh (you watch them unload the boat) and very well prepared! #1!

Get on the waitlist before heading there to save you some time! It was packed even at 5pm. I thought it would be a tourist trap but the food was EXCELLENT. I wanted some fresh fish and gumbo and it beat my expectations. The grouper was cooked to perfection and the sauce that goes with it was delish. My daughter got an enormous burger and she ate the whole thing! The spinach artichoke dip was good, but was really salty combined with the salted chips. Just skip it and get some gumbo for an appetizer! We were seated by the front windows and got treated to an incredible sunset!!

We are on the waitlist for 6 people (Watson), can we get our table for 11, hostess said to leave this comment?

These questions go to people who have reviewed the business not to the business

    Curbside or take out available?

Take out is available. I do not think they offer curbside. Only reason I say this is because I do not see marked spots for curbside. You should go in just to see the fun decor. Love this place! I've been going since they opened.

Can we make reservations a day or two ahead of time?

I have successfully used the sign in option (get in line) on Yelp (nowait) with Peg Leg's.

    Pet friendly restaurant?

I don't believe so. There's a small playground that gets crowded with kids and seating is fairly dense but the food and service is wonderful.

    Is the playground area open?

The actual playground is open. But ther are picnic tables to sit eat and watch the kids that is covered.

Is this a place where its appropriate to go to straight from the beach with a cover up and flip flops on?

    Absolutely! 😎

Is there a weekly special on Mondays?

They have dinner specials always varies from day to day . Great oysters and grouper is our favorite. Wonderful service

    Do they have kids menu's?

Yes! They have grilled cheese, grouper nuggets, fried shrimp, etc.

    Is there a Happy Hour?

Yes, from 3-6pm .50 off draft 1.00 off pitcher of beer

Since the three of us in our group aren't big eaters, we asked to split a portion of everything we ordered, and she didn't blink an eye. We started with the BBQ shrimp, which was fantastic! It's not a heavy, traditional BBQ flavor--it's more of a rich, New Orleans-style sauce. With six shrimp total, it was perfect for splitting, especially with the delicious bread served alongside it to soak up that amazing sauce. Nom!! Two of us split the wedge salad, and Brittany happily accommodated our special request for ranch instead of blue cheese. Our other friend had the kale salad and thoroughly enjoyed it. For the main course, the three of us split the filet mignon, which came with a dollop of mashed potatoes. The char on the steak was absolutely fabulous, and the potatoes paired with it perfectly! The restaurant is fairly dark and can get a bit noisy on busy nights, but we enjoyed our time immensely. Grand Marlin has private rooms and is easily the most high-end restaurant on Pensacola Beach. Our total was $178.00 before tip, which is well worth it. The attire ranges anywhere from dressy to beach casual, they have several great seating options for special occasions, and there's even a gift shop with some great finds. For anyone who remembers, this used to be the Boy on a Dolphin years ago. As an honorary Pensacolian since 1975, I consider myself a bit of an expert on all things Pensacola Beach--and you won't be disappointed here! Pro tip: Get a group photo by the bay before leaving. Even at night, it shows off those perfect Pensacola views.

It is awesome highly recommend.!! They have fire pits, cozy couches, high top tables even booth seating ! The staff flounder was delicious. The only food I did not like was the chicken Alfredo. The chicken breasts were a bit tough and not marinated or flavorful, but the seafood is spectacular and fresh! they have an adorable parrot named tequila. That is a great photo app and plenty of other backdrops from wooden statues, and even a giant shell that you can stand inside of.

What really sets Joe Patties apart is the quality. Nothing compares to the freshness of their fish and seafood. If you feel like you're paying a little more, just know that when you cook it properly at home, the quality more than justifies the price. One tip: if you're getting steamed shrimp, skip the pre-steamed option. Go to the counter, pick out the shrimp you want, and have them steam it fresh for you. Definitely grab one of their tubs of garlic butter and herbs and have them add half or the full amount depending on how much you're getting. I got the Argentine shrimp, about a pound and a half, and had them use half the butter. No one in my group expected it to be as good as it was. I set the plate down and it was gone in less than five minutes. I was lucky to even get three pieces for myself. We also purchased a whole grouper and had them fillet it for us. We seasoned it with their Everglades rub, and I have to admit it was probably the best grouper I've ever had in my life. The freshness makes all the difference. We grill often and have made grouper before, but it's usually been frozen, and it never comes out anywhere near this good.
