Service was excellent with minimal staff and they greeted us warmly. Our meals were quickly made to order and hot and fresh. And when I asked for a large chocolate dipped cone...I got a large cone! First I enjoyed a couple of lengua and a cabeza taco with cilantro. These were excellent, juicy and flavorful. On another visit they were mysteriously not open. Then the third time, I had three chicken tacos which were fine. I will stick to my favorites, the lengua and cabeza. I will support any place that serves these. It's made to order, there are two nice benches, plastic utensils and plates, and fresh homemade salsa on the table. There's a mama in there cooking and two adolescents taking orders. The food came out within a reasonable time; hot, fresh, flavorful, and just like auntie's kitchen. If you look through the order window it looks just like an auntie's kitchen in there; big metal pots on the stove and everything. The other places might win local awards (judged by Iowa palates), but the reality is that none of them can compare to Tacos La Michoacana. They aren't flashy, it's simply fantastic food that fills you up for only five dollars. Cash only, folks. And don't waste their time with your broken and offensive attempts at Spanish; they speak English fluently. The reality is that nowhere else in town can hold a candle, but so far I've only seen Latinx people eating there. They are not here to service people that want greasy chicken covered in nacho cheese.

A perfect spot (just off the interstate) to grab a bite to eat, stretch our legs and use the restroom. We all ordered via self ordering kiosk. The food came out in no time, piping hot and correct. My Spicy McChicken was great but the star of the show was the insanely fresh fries! (And that the ketchup was fully stocked.) Bathrooms were clean. Staff was friendly. If you want to grab a bite, pop off the interstate and mosey on over to this McDonalds.

I'm not a coffee drinker, yet KaffeGeita had such a good vibe. I bought a roasted iced coffee for my partner and browsed this place. It's less than a mile west of the 35 and equipped with a drive-thru option. There are lots of pastries and sandwiches, WiFi for interior seating, and super cool T-shirts. There are many nursing homes and elderly people living in Story City, and if you need a place loaded with kindness to get away for a little bit, this is the place.
