The large Italian beef was indeed large (I should have ordered the regular; the large is more than any one person should eat) and packed with beef. The portion of fries was big, too. Quick service. It was mushy. This continued throughout the sandwich. From the pinkish hue of some of the beef, I'm guessing this might be due to being cooked less than I'm used to? In any case, it was disconcerting. And the jus was much plainer than I'm used to, as well. I expected to see flecks of oregano and other spices; this version was darker and seemed to be lacking those. It may be unfair to compare this to my expectations. Maybe, if you're new to Italian beef, you might enjoy this. But if you're looking for a Buona / Mr. Beef / Portillo's experience, you won't find it here.
