For an $1,800 dishwasher, that's incredibly disappointing. Now I've got a new dishwasher that's less intelligent and less useful than my old one, and I'm confused that nobody at Ferguson thought to mention that for only $100 more, we could get a much better solution. I expected better advice from them, so this experience has been very disappointing.

I did everything possible to avoid issues -- I confirmed timelines with my salesperson, Drew, to avoid a price increase and followed up with a call. Despite that, my quote increased. After some back and forth, they did honor the original price -- but the problems didn't stop there. Drew failed to place the order, even though I had submitted it and paid in full. That delay caused major availability issues, forcing me to purchase a more expensive microwave just to stay on schedule. When I needed to change one appliance, it took weeks just to get an updated proposal. I shared my install deadline well in advance, because I had out-of-town carpenters coming specifically to install the appliance panels. House of Appliances never got back to me in time, and I missed the window. Now I have to pay extra to get the panels installed later. To make matters worse, the refrigerator drawers and wine refrigerator arrived damaged. I was told they could be repaired -- but I paid full price, and I will not accept repaired appliances. These units are required for my Certificate of Occupancy and panel installation, and I still have no resolution. I even contacted a manager and have yet to receive any help. This kind of service is unacceptable.

We asked if we could still browse their showroom. Drew immediately welcomed us and then proceeded to spend nearly an hour going over all the appliances we were looking for: ovens, dishwasher, refrigerator, etc. All the while knowing there would be no eventual sale. Drew Meltz is the best appliance salesperson we have ever met, hands down. He is supremely knowledgeable about his products, patient, cordial and a real pleasure to work with. He gave us an estimate and collected his $149. We thought Appliance King was going to do the repair. But less than 5 minutes after they left, they called and said they do not service our brand/model. So, basically, they stole $149 and our time in bad faith.

One of the salesmen was a particularly nice guy with a soft sell so soft he didn't even try to sell us anything...which you don't find too often down here, where salesmen generally stalk you and price-bait. This guy just gave us a couple of coupons and mentioned other stores nearby with different selections in case we needed more to choose from. Decent fella.

At the register, one of my items didn't have a scan code on it and the cashier said that I had to go back and find the correct code for it. It seems to me that one of the employees should assist with that. I complained to the manager and she 100% agreed with me. Update: I visited this HD location last week and it was greatly improved. One employee was very helpful and got a larger dolly cart for me to carry bags of heavy garden soil. Also, the cashier was a bit more engaged than I've experienced in the past. Prices have increased as of late March 2026 but I don't suppose that HD's fault.

Noticed a staff member in a few of the aisles helping customers. Thats the big thing here, the customer service is great. I always check YouTube for DIY stuff for my home but these guys provide valuable info from experience. I'm sure Home Depot and Lowes get hurt from online purchases through Amazon, which maybe why its never busy at most locations. On my way out, I noticed three bins for "save the earth" to dispose of rechargeable batteries, fluorescent bulbs and plastics. Not sure if this is used often by customers but it seems like a good idea.

I thought I would just try my local store and I can't tell you how wonderful Joel was. From the moment I walked into the kitchen area he just wanted to help me. I even apologized for taking his time and he repeatedly told me it was not a problem. He showed me exactly the cabinet that was sent. He gave me insight into what was being done and even helped by showing some alternatives. I wish we could import him up to New York because he was so easy to deal with and so willing to help and educate me on everything about designing a kitchen. I truly appreciate his time and expertise.
