I don't review companies unless I feel that I was given an unjust service - so here it is.. I called this company because I had used them years ago - Oddly enough I ended up calling them again for the same exact issue for the same exact broken burner 5 years later. ( My bad ). They came on a Friday to fix my broken overtop burner - over the weekend the " hot surface " light never turned off - so they came back on Monday - after figeting in the back of the oven sparks flew and power gets shut/flicker off in 2 bedrooms and employee says that now my second burner is not working - they leave to get another part - after installing the part for the second burner - miraculously a third burner is now not working - Hmm. sparks in back of oven that shut off power in 2 bedrooms and now 2 more burners don't work ? Coincidence ? I think not. So after getting charged $ 150 for service calls for fixing one burner - they left me with 3 broken burners - Avoid this company like Covid - Complete Disaster. read more

Verbally abusive. We scheduled routine maintenance of our Subzero. The tech, "Angel" (oh irony!) was rude as soon as he walked in. He told me to fetch him a step stool (he should bring his own). We agreed to the price before he started. When he finished FIVE MINUTES LATER my husband asked him to help him understand why it cost what it did. Again, we had agreed to the price we just wanted to understand the process. He explained that he needed to use freon (valid) but grew so angry as he explained it, that he then refused to take our payment, said he had more important things to do and stormed out. On the way out he called us rich assholes. I had the check written out, we never said we wouldn't pay--my husband simply asked a question. I told Angel he has anger issues, which he does. I would caution against having him in your home. I called Cooper. Tony wouldn't let me get a word in edgewise. He felt we should've asked all of our questions up front, not after the service was performed. Again, we never said we wouldn't pay for the service. If you can't ask a question, then this isn't the service provider for you. Terrible customer service. Verbally abusive. Adios. read more

The company is a ripoff. The "president" of the company came out to my Moms home to fix a Problem under the kitchen sink. The problem they were called to fix was the insta hot was not Running correctly, the water would come out in spurts. Instead of a repair he made it worse, he left a line leaking under the sink and said the sink was out of service till his Plumber came. it was an easy fix, ALL COMPRESSION FITTINGS and PVC . he should have just shut off water to house and disconnected Valve from wall, then cleared the valve of debris. Then reattached the valve, turned on water and see if problem is solved. If not then the blockage is in the plumbing to the insta hot And or the water filter. Turn off water once more and clear the lines to the water filter and then insta hot. Instead he pulled the lines to the water filter saying it was all installed wrong . Then he did not leave the lines he removed behind and somehow he kinked a copper cold water line that was supposed to go to the filter then the insta hot. funny that's the line that was leaking at the compression fitting before the Kink he created. Oh and he took the old water filter out and put it in his vehicle before I could see if it needed to be touch He did not expect me to show up. I am a retired Locksmith but in my 35 years on the road I have worked in all phases of construction including plumbing. He worked for an Hour, complained about the past work and then said he Could not finish so he would send his Plumber right out. When I looked under the sink and saw that he had removed Lines and filter and taken them with him, I could not even attempt to see what he had actually done. I had my Mom call and Cancel the plumber from this Co. and call her normal plumber. It is a common practice of thieves to use this pattern. Remove enough parts so the customer is trapped by no water, Than the person who is on the Job says it's out of my scope of expertise so I will send our Pro. They were called for a plumbing job, why was the President of the company doing the job? If he came to a plumbing Job how come he could not figure out how to clear a water line clogged with sediment. Instead he disassembled all of the lines leading to the water filter and the Insta hot. (Insta hot is an electric mini water heater that mounts under Sink.) The work the President removed and complained about was done by my best friend, A licensed plumber who visits me from the west coast. The "Pres" left a leaking fitting and kinked a soft copper line . I had to put a bucket under his work to catch the drip. He also got every inch of the underside of the cabinet wet including the Electrical outlet for the disposal. When my Mom called and cancelled the second service man the woman on the phone did not even ask why. Then the Pres. Called back and said he needed to be paid for his hour. I am paying him back right now by protecting all of you from these thieves. I would assume all the positive reviews they have are fakes. Beware!! I wish I could post photos ! I would show the missing parts, damage and leak. read more

This was the best service call I have ever had in my life. I lease...so I was dreading this process of finding someone to fix my dryer and working with them and my landlord to get this accomplished. My dryer was fixed same day. I will continue to use this company for any appliance in this house and future homes in the area. Where's the ZERO star option?? I wish we read these reviews before we too, was screwed by this company. Our 48" GE Monogram went out after hours (6:30 pm) and required emergency repair. In a hurry we hired the first available company to come fix the issue. In walks Angel (though asshole is a far more appropriate "A" name for him). Seemingly nice guy until it comes time to discuss money..... After diagnosis he reports that both boards need replacing and the coils need cleaning. He says he has brand new parts from the factory in his truck and can get it running in about 30 minutes - for which he will charge my senior citizen parents $2000 ($450 Emergency Visit + $1550 Parts). As their business woman daughter who was over for dinner, I proceeded to question these prices and attempted to negotiate a better deal, however this was apparently unacceptable to Angel, who immediately became agitated and proceeded to tell me with an aggressive attitude "Listen lady, I don't even want to fix your refrigerator at this hour, I'm just trying to do the right thing by you......." After having dealt with too many scam artists in my life, I knew right then his level of defense wasn't right and suggested my parents wait to have a different company come out. Unfortunately, they didn't want to be without a fridge and fell pray to this ripoff artists con. As he's fixing the fridge he starts asking me inappropriate questions... "How old are you? Any children? Married? You can see where this is going right??? Now it's time to pay and I review the bill..... I ask him one last time to do better on the price to which he responds "If you go to dinner with me, I will" I said "Nevermind, I guess we will just pay this overpriced bill then"...... Well, Asshole, I mean, Angel didn't like that and said rudely, " I see why you're 39 and single"....... CAN YOU BELIVE THIS??? Anyway, Fast forward 2 months later and the fridge is out again...... A different company comes out and shows me that not only were the boards not replaced, still with my original 2016 tags on them, but shows me that retail on these parts is only $200, and charges me a FAR MORE appropriate amount to do the same work Angel didn't do, yet charged me for. After realizing my senses were indeed true, that my parents were ABSOLUTELY scammed out of $2000, I pursued the company for reimbursement. Owner Greg called me and after a couple discussions said he'd give me $500 back.... I said thank you but that's not acceptable. I said I'd settle the matter for $1000. After a couple more discussions, Greg agreed to pay me $1000 in increments..... being nice about it, I accepted and guess what....... Now Greg isn't returning my messages. This was the worst experience I have ever had with a repair company in my life! Please, please, please do not be fooled or taken advantage of as I was from this company. The owner, Greg, has no idea what he is doing on the newer machines. He came to my house to repair my washer (that is only 4 + years old) and told me that the master board was the problem. He came back with a part and after he put it in he said it was repaired, it was not! It kept doing the exact same thing (acting like it wasn't balanced) and wouldn't spin the water out of the wash. I called him to tell him it wasn't repaired and he said he'd come back on Monday between 9:30-10:00AM. He never showed or called! I called him many more times and left a message each time but he never called me back... he had my money. I never heard from him again! So now I'm out several hundred dollars and had to have another company repair my machine (and it had nothing to do with the board as he had said. It was the drum assembly that was bad). Of course I had to pay the company to do the correct repair (several hundred dollars again) but at least they did the repair and my washer works properly. Whatever you do, do not call Greg Farrington or this company unless you like to be taken advantage. PS I would have given them zero stars if I could but I believe you get my point from what I have written here. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! That is why I am so pleased to share the experience I had last week with Cooper Appliance. When my dryer wasn't working and I dreaded the idea of shopping for either a repair company or an appliance- both needs were efficiently taken care of by Ingrid! I called at 8pm on Sunday night so I would get a call first thing in the morning, but Ingrid called me back promptly after I left my initial message that evening. She is truly priceless as she already had found a few choices for a replacement by the time I found out that my dryer was going to need to be replaced after the serviceman assessed the dryer. The servicemen who did the work were knowledgable and neat...all they way around Cooper Appliance exceeded my expectations! read more

I recently called Cooper Appliance to repair my Transtherm Wine Cellar (like a refrigerator for wine)....a bit outside the box for any repair shop. The control panel was blown and as this was a non-standard appliance, I obtained the part directly from the manufacturer and was hopeful that I could find someone to figure out how to install it properly. The repairperson (Peter) showed up at my condo bright and early and I showed him the job. He did not seem perturbed. 40 minutes later, he was done and the Cellar was good as new and running perfectly. I was charged under $100 for the service call and have found a new efficient repair company for the Boca Raton area. VERY SATISFIED!! read more

My experience with Cooper appliance repair left me wondering how they are still in business. First of all, Greg, the owner arrived 3 hours after the agreed upon appointment. We called several times, apparently his phone died(he asked to use mine to call his next appointment...no joke). next, he proceeded to take apart the dryer clumsily, leaving tool marks on the finish like the one pictured around the outer lip. He confirmed my suspicion that the heating element had broken and that he would order one and get it the next day. at this point we paid him his "consultation fee" which was supposed to go towards the cost of repair, trouble is, he never showed up to complete said repair. He called the next day saying the part would be about three times as much as quoted and would arrive a week later. He encouraged me to get the part myself if i could, which i did( for about half of his quoted price non-oem) and the part arrived the following Moday We called him and attempted to make an appointment for that week, he told us Friday would be the only day that would work, we tried to nail down a time, but he simply told us to call him day of and he would make time to fit us in. Come Friday we did call him, straight to voicemail, about 5 times for me and probably twice as many from my wife. My wife finally got in contact with the office claiming that Greg was out of town, and that maybe he could do Monday(they later called again and said they could not even do Monday). My wife was visibly frustrated at this point because we have not been able to use our dryer for 2 full weeks and she suggested that we just go and buy a new dryer. I then figured i might as well try fixing it myself, which i did successfully. This leads me to my conclusion. As it turns out, Their job just isn't very hard, at least not hard enough to justify being an absolutely incompetent flake who treats customer phone calls like telemarketers . Just as an aside, if he does miraculously call you back, he will actually say "who is this?" as if he is just dialing his missed calls without listening to his voicemail. Either, Greg is the absolute worst businessman in the history of people, or he makes his money by scamming people out of the consultation fee and never actually shows to finish the job . You want my advice, watch a youtube video, buy the part, do it yourself, don't deal with this garbage company and the idiot who runs it.....by the way Greg, I want my money back read more

I bought a dishwasher machine from this Co.,the installation was made by a 14 years old kid who was the grandson of the guy who supposedly have to install it but due to a problem with his knees he couldn't bend and a few months later I had a flood in my house,I called a co. and after checking where the leak was coming from they checked the machine and told me that the person who did the installation left all the old rotten parts there.The guy replaced all the rotten parts but the damaged to my carpet,baseboards,the door to the bathroom was over a $1000.00. All of that expense could have been avoided if the machine was properly installed.So beware if you need to buy any appliance from this co.of the person who is doing the installation.Before this happened I was going to buy an air conditioning unit from this co.I'll never use them or recommended them to anyone. read more

In July of 2013, an employee of this company came in to my Uncle's home, and charged him $2,389 to fix the refrigerator. The check was written to the owner's name, not the name of the company. The company claims that they took a compressor apart and fixed it and reinstalled it. I asked them to provide me with the name of the parts company where they obtained the parts to fix the compressor. They declined. They also claim they removed and replaced the evaporator coil. Again I asked them to tell me where they obtained the evaporator coil, and again they declined to tell me where they got that part. A few months later, with an actual Authorized Sub Zero servicer, I stood by while he removed the back panel of my Uncle's refrigerator. The Authorized service provider showed me an evaporator coil with a red zip tie on it. He told me that the red zip tie shows that it was the factory installed evaporator coil. Cooper also claimed that they put freon into the Sub Zero refrigerator. Freon cannot be put into a Sub Zero refrigerator unless you cut a freon pipe and weld on a valve, because they are designed to be "sealed systems." The Authorized Sub Zero service provider found no such newly attached valve. As for the $500 labor, my Mother was visiting Florida from St. Louis and watched the repair person. He took the refrigerator apart, somewhat, then left for a long time, then returned and put it back together. He then told my Uncle it would be "twenty three eighty nine." And then my 82 year old uncle, who has some dementia, wrote out a check (which I still have) for $23.89. And then the "repair person" told him no, the price was $2389.00. read more
