I wanted to buy a guitar but have some problems with my shoulder and needed help selecting a size and style I could use comfortably. I got no help from the big box stores. I walked into Music Go Round and was immediately greeted by a friendly guy named Jeff. I explained my problem and Jeff showed me a variety of styles and sizes. When he saw how uncomfortable I was, he showed me how to hold the guitar like I was playing classical and it was a revelation. It took all the pressure off my shoulder. He brought me a variety of guitars without trying to upsell at all and I landed on a beautiful Alvarez Parlor size with all Mahagony top, sides and bottom. This guitar new at Guitar stores is selling for $1,100. I bought this slightly used guitar for 1/3 that cost. And, to top it off, the store has a wonderful dog walking around. So, if you want personal service, no pressure sales, and a great bargain on a great guitar--I would stop here. At least that was my experience.

I have had hit or miss experiences with this place. They have a great variety of guitars most of…read morethe time but the staff is sometimes sort of aloof. Perhaps they don't even realize it. I can't say they actively discourage me in any way. It's just that some of them have a hard time feigning interest. Maybe I'm just not a cool person. I dunno. Some other places have no trouble treating me like I matter, so perhaps it isn't just me. Perhaps I have been encountering an employee who doesn't like his job. Regardless, I keep coming in to see their incredibly good, constantly-rotating inventory. One time, I even sold an amp for them just by being myself, playing some pretty tunes on a nice little setup. A nice older gentleman walked up and complimented the sound I was getting then politely asked if he could buy the amp. We had a wonderful talk and then he bought it while I walked out the door. That made me feel GOOD. That experience has sustained me over a few of the more negative experiences with aforementioned aloof employee.

Reasonable prices, not as much selection as Guitar Center obviously, but a lot more personality, just like all the small shops. Preferable indeed! Didn't have much time to peep the guitar selection. Looked pretty standard...no jaw-dropping Les Pauls or anything, but a few solid used axes nonetheless. Not much for drummers, although he did have a few cymbals, so if you need some color in your kit's cymbal arsenal, maybe give him a call to see what he's got. Best for the used amps/cabs though...good selection considering the size of the joint.

My son had taken Music Together lessons with Mister Vic before and we knew that he would do a great job entertaining the kids. Most of the children were 5 yrs. old; there were some 2/3 yrs. old as well. Mr. Vic managed to engage and entertain all of them at all times, he definitely has a special gift! The parents also loved it and were very happy to see their kids enjoying the music, exploring instruments and dancing! Mister Vic was very nice and kind and he even offered to sing Happy Birthday at cake time! And last, but not least, Pat was super nice and helpful in helping book the party and providing great advice on how to have the space set up for the party.
