Miso Veggie Ramen

Something quick but also AMAZING ! we came here on the quicks and did not regret it. We were greeted as soon as we walked in, got to seat wherever we wanted to. As soon as we sat down, we go a water bottle (which was amazing) and the menus. The lady was so nice and friendly and definitely put up with her jokes and laughs. She recommended the popular choices, from each category and vegetables ramen. and from the bento boxes. We got the miso pork ramen, miso veggie ramen and the fried chicken bento box. Everything came in such a reasonable time and was beautiful in presentation, quality and flavor!! Everything was great, clean and the server definitely made getting the check so fun.

Sodooku Ramen (we ordered via DoorDash Delivery) without broth

Today we woke up with more than 4 inches of snow and after shoveling our driveway, the craving of warm comfort food was the first thing that came to mind. We googled Ramen and found this new restaurant, right next to Jewel grocery. Decided to order via DoorDash and we're glad we did! We ordered sodooku ramen. It was well packaged, the broth didn't spill. We got generous serving of ramen noodles and pork. The broth was tasty too! The reason I gave it 4 stars is that we want to try their other offerings as well as chicken karaage. I hope they don't close too, it is so hard to find a good ramen place in the suburbs.

Dinner time

When we first walked in we noticed that almost every table was full. My husband and I sat at the long table with bar stools. We were greeted right away with a bottle of water and a menu. There are so many great menu options and it was hard to choose. We ended up ordering the Karaage Chicken appetizer and we both had a bowl of the Tan Tan Ramen. The chicken was nice and crispy and very flavorful so yummy! It was a big portion size too. I like that they were bite sized. The Tan Tan Ramen was steaming when it arrived at our table but was not physically hot like I was expecting which was great! I could dig in and not burn my mouth which is a first time ever for me! The ground pork added a nice spice and flavor to the soup and was perfect! My husband does not like too many hot spices in his soup and this one was perfect for him. It was just enough to get his nose to run. I highly recommend dining here, we will definitely be back! Especially now with the weather cooling down outside.

Glad to have found this place in Naperville. Very impressive menu and selections. Had this black ramen and it was very good. I will try something spicy next time.

Really good ramen, and a really nice woman who waited on me, I have been away for a year or more and she forgot my usual order, which was all my fault. My togo place for ramen in the west suburbs.

Sudooku Ramen is a nice casual ramen spot and a welcome addition to Naperville. The menu is simple and to the point, which is wonderful. No more flipping through pages upon pages trying to figure out what to get. Appetizers, ramen, or bento boxes? The noodles used here are perfect. Firm, just soft enough, and picks up all the flavor of the broth. The variety of ramens is nice. Pork, chicken, and even a vegan broth is available. I went with the spicy Sudooku Ramen which is basically your tonkatsu ramen. All the ingredients were perfect. I'm very happy about having this here, and will certainly be back over and over.

Spicy classic chicken

I continue to order from here off of door dash. I've tried other ramen restaurants but, to me, they don't compare. When I want a big bowl of spicy soup this is where I turn. My kids love it too. It always arrives hot and in 2 separate containers, one for broth and one for the noodles and other ingredients. I'm not a ramen expert by any means but I do love soup and this tastes amazing to me especially compared to other ramen restaurants I've tried. I'll keep coming back!!

Food was delicious and appropriately portioned for the price point. The server was so friendly and attentive! She also provided helpful information and recommendations when we weren't sure about which flavor ramen to order. We ordered spicy garlic pork ramen, spicy chicken ramen, chicken karaage, and veggie rolls. I will definitely come back the next time I'm craving ramen!

Attention veggie ramen lovers: This place has all the vegetarian options you can dream of! We went here on a Saturday mid-day, and although the place is pretty small, it sure was packed! This ramen restaurant is located in a strip mall, and delivers on it's cozy atmosphere. The menu is actually pretty in depth for the size of the restaurant, and there were so many veggie options to choose from for both appetizers and ramen! THEY HAD VEGETABLE DUMPLINGS YA'LL. No where has vegetable dumplings! This place is truly a blessing! I got their standard tofu ramen, and a side of chili sauce on the side, and devoured the whole thing! The food was tasty and the service was great. It's no wonder why this place was packed! 10/10 would return!

I have been to this ramen place multiple times since last year. It's a very small place with varieties of ramen and appetizers. It's a perfect ramen spot for cold snowy or rainy day in the suburbs. People are friendly and service is fast. I love their ramen. The broth is so good. If you're in the area do give this place a try.

Finally found my new favorite ramen place! I ordered on their website and picked up on a Friday night and the restaurant was packed - every table was full. Usually a great sign! I ordered the spicy miso ramen with fried tofu added in and it was PERFECT. Great level of spice, the tofu portion size was awesome, and the ingredients (and noodles) tasted really fresh. They included Brussel sprouts in the ramen which next time I may order on the side as some were pretty big pieces but really that's my only room for improvement! I also tried their spring rolls which were very tasty. Cannot wait to try more items off their menu!!!

Pretty good ramen and will definitely be back to try one of the bento boxes! Appetizers looked great too but we kept it simple for dinner tonight and didn't order any. Super quick service and great prices.

Is there egg in the ramen noodles? I have a egg allergy!

Ramen noodle is made from flour with egg white in it. We currently do have a substitute kale noodles for vegan or egg allergy customers upon request.

Yelp says that the business has outdoor seating but I don't see any pictures or comments about it. What is the outdoor seating like?

Our outdoor seating consists 2 tables and 8 chairs with no umbrella, which located right in front of the entrance.

I ordered their teriyaki skewers, agedashi tofu, and tan tan ramen. Sibling ordered the beef noodle soup. Ambiance is cozy, extremely large booths for family style seating or with friend groups. Tan Tan Ramen: Large portion, quite spicy for someone that can handle very mild spice (so ask for less if they can do it). Flavor is superb, something I'd definitely order again. Came with ground pork, bean sprout, veggies, and half a boiled egg. Teriyaki skewer: Not your traditional Japanese teriyaki flavor, however equally delicious. Tender chicken pieces glazed and seasoned. Agedashi tofu: Gave lots of pieces, I wanna say 8 or 6 pieces. Crunchy exterior, powdered with shichimi togarashi chili powder. Comes with agedashi sauce which is authentic to its flavor. (Very surprised because I've come across lots of restaurants that mess this up). Overall a positive experience, good food and ambiance. Have yet to try their Japanese menu items like tonkatsu ramen, but all my recs above are a safe bet!

The rice noodles with Hunan style are unique at our suburban areas. Another choice to make to the China town in the City. We have tried almost all flavored rice noodles soup. My favorites are Xiao chao Xiang and spicy ribs. Xiao chao Xiang can pair up with rice as well. Both delicious. Services are always quick and friendly. They have only 6 tables and a few bar seats. Very cozy in place to enjoy the meal.

I ordered online for carry out and the platform was easy to navigate. Once my husband and I arrived at the resto we were greeted by a very kind staff member. Our food wasn't ready but within 5 mins of us being there it was good to go. We tried the wonton soup and chicken dumplings app. Both were on the bland side. Normally I'm used to wonton soup also having noodles and theirs does not. Flavors were OK, felt like both dishes were missing spices. Everything was cooked perfectly though. Maybe we ordered the wrong items from here and need to try others instead.

In my experience, this signifies either the place was going to be a shithole to pass up, or it was a serious place to eat, then get out and go somewhere with an atmosphere. Happy to say J's (IMHO) is a serious place to eat. No-nonsense, direct and to the point. When I walked in, all those common chairs I mentioned were stacked upside down on the tables in the way that places do when they are closed. The taciturn fellow who worked there assured me they were indeed open, and explained they had just finish washing the floor. Please dont read any of this as negative-the best Chinese places I've ever been have looked like this-and if you've paid attention to the Travel/Food shows on the TeeVee, the joints in China itself are pretty much the same. On to the food, know this place is a Serious REAL-DEAL Chinese resto. I didn't notice if there were "Occidental" Chinese-type dishes on the carte, (primarily 'cos I wasn't looking for them). What I saw looked yum, and had a hard time making choices, even though I had read the menu multiple times and thought I know what I was going to order in advance. Confessionately, this is a chief feature for my tortured dining self-It's a wonder I even get fed in restaurants (especially the great ethnic ones), due to option anxiety. I zeroed in on "Street Noodles" for starters-wouldn't you? Then went to "Cold Beef Shank" for entreé. The Noodles were fab as was the Shank. The noodles were in a broth. with some hunks of bok choy and ground meat on top. Hearty, still light. The shank had a thin sauce complimenting but not obscuring the beefiness. One bugaboo: the Shank needed a bit of seasoning, and I wasn't going to use soy sauce, as I believed that would have marred the subtle flavors of the Beef. I asked for a salt shaker. It arrived, and I was a little taken back, 'cos it appeared it hadn't been washed in a while, and the salt inside was caked. It occurred to me this condition was present due to the non-use of said shaker. I don't think I've ever asked for a salt shaker in a Chinese resto. I pulled a toothpick out of my "Murse" and broke up the caked NaCl. Applying same to the pieces of Shank, the flavor bloomed and I was a happy boy. Bring some salt packets along when you visit "J's", maybe. The fellow who was waiter and cashier was a "western" fellow, whom I engaged and turned out to be quite an experienced foodie. some pleasant conversation indeed. Throwing 4 for this excellent establishment, with a few grains of salt separating it from 5...
