Food was comforting and delicious! I love how they give you a pack of seaweed on the side, an egg, and a few dishes of banchan. It's definitely somewhere I'd come back to for my soondubu fix. It's also inside the H Mart, so you can get groceries right after. The service was very nice and friendly. The ambiance was nice since they had a food court style seating, and there are a bunch of other neighboring restaurants if you're craving something else.

Ok an update! I finally took a picture before eating and it's still as amazing as it was the first time. The spicy chicken is now one of my favorites. I have yet to have anything bad or even ok from this restaurant. The service is always friendly and she always makes it clear not to let the bag fall if you're taking it to go. She also recommends you eat there for the best results but I am shocked to hear it gets better! The short rib was flavorful and the side dishes are great! This was my first time trying kimchi so I can't say if it's the best but I loved it!

Located in the H-Mart food court. Ordered my usual Spicy Squid dish. This is a sizzling hot plate, made of Marinated stir fried squid with vegetables in Korean BBQ spicy sauce. Flavorful dish that comes with sides of Kimchi, Korean sweet potatoes, steam vegetables and Miso Soup. Optional Sunny side Egg. Thank you

#26 is delicious from this place!

Food is good, my favorite is #26, service is good too, you just gotta keep asking for napkins but other than that food is great!

Beef tofu soup combo w galbi (short ribs) was $29.95 and this is what it comes w as of 1/1/2026.

I was very, very happy with this place because they not only serve the food in Real home cooking family style bowls and plates like the ride bowl and steel silverware and the side dish trays are all metal for you. Get the galbi (short ribs) on a hot plate. For $29.95, you can get a combo meal with short ribs on a hot plate on a bed of onions and soft tofu soup (any flavor and ingredients you want ... a nice choice of items) that comes with a pack of seaweed, 5 side dishes (vege pancake, raw egg to crack into your tofu soup as soon as you get it, bean sprouts, pickled cucumber, and kimchi. The beef tofu soup was such a tasty and flavorful soup. You are allowed to request the level of spice or no spice. And the ingredients were so clean and fresh and high quality. The beef slices were plenty and good quality bc it was mostly lean ribeye meat. The soup tasted like it was stewed for hours with lots of good flavors bc it was not just water with salt and red pepper sauce w anchovy flavor. The galbi short ribs were seasoned well with a sweet taste and sesame seeds and had plenty of meat on the bone. For a simple sit down cafeteria style food court right next to Hmart, this is a great option to not have done in service and pay tip. You can enjoy food here and people watch at the same time. And you can plan for your next meal at the Japanese or Chinese or mochi or noodle places or bbq chicken or Paris baguette place in the same food court. Huge free parking lot. And in the same mall as Costco and Great Clips and so much more. A great place to eat then grocery shop. Just one thing was that you have to put the raw egg in as soon as you get the food so the heat of the tofu soup cooks the egg. It might not get too hot to solidify the yolk or egg white so hurry if you want your egg cooked.

I've been here three times since the grand opening! I've been craving a good Korean place ever since J moved back and this restaurant really hits the spot. I will say the combo is a bit pricey but the food is really good. I love the hot stone pork!

I got lucky and found the last space in the small adjacent lot shared with the hardware store. Downtown La Grange is crazy-busy no matter when, and you can forget street parking. My father uses a walker, and the restaurant was very accessible for him, which I appreciated. We thought about sitting outside, but it's not all that appealing as you basically are out on the sidewalk looking over parked cars and traffic. After we found a table inside the rustic-appointed space, I got into the short ordering line and chose the Papa Q Platter because I wanted us to be able to try a little of everything. Neither of us eats very much anymore, and the platter was more than generous. We brought home well over half of it. The pulled chicken and brisket were okay, as was the mac and cheese. The smoked turkey, baked beans, and pulled pork were all on point. The burnt ends were great, but the ribs were easily the highlight. They appeared to be back ribs, but they were meaty, smoky, tender without being mushy, and had an excellent bark. The sauces were fine, although I would have liked a sharper Eastern Carolina-style vinegar sauce, or something really hot and spicy. Overall, there were a few average items, but the better meat--especially those ribs--made it a very enjoyable lunch.

You could smell the smoke outside another plus. Decent size on the inside with some outside seating as well. You can see them preparing your food from the kitchen. The service was very good. Abby took our order and she was very patient and helpful. They have complimentary pickles to go with your order if you like. We ordered beef brisket sliders, sliced turkey sliders, 1/2 lb. Of brisket burnt ends and 1/2 lb their signature brussel sprouts. All that cost roughly $53.50 without tip. First the brisket burnt ends. They were tender and Smokey I just wished they had some type of bark on them. All in all they were tasty. I'll give them a 6.8/10. The brisket sliders were also tender & a nice smoke flavor to them but they didn't have any bark on them as well. The buns were soft and buttery which helped. 7/10. They came without sauce which I liked they have 3 sauces on the table for you to choose from. Sweet, spicy and a vinegar based sauce. The sweet sauce and the sauce were average 5/10 the vinegar based I didn't care for at all 0/10 for me. The turkey sliders were decent. Very nice smoke on them and very tender. And they weren't dried out. The same soft buttery buns 6.5/10 Now those signature Brussel Sprouts was hitting hard! They had a nice char on them very flavorful and just a faint hint of sweetness. They were star of the meal! 8.8/10! We got fries with the sliders...... 7.8/10! Q BBQ was decent nothing special but they were good. I'm willing to give them another chance. UNCLE BUB'S AWARD-WINNING BARBEQUE -- WESTMONT, IL…read more I thought Uncle Bub's was already the greatest barbecue establishment known to mankind... then I met JIM. Jim is not just a worker. Jim is a national treasure. A legend. A hero. A man among men. If Uncle Bub's is the Super Bowl of barbecue, Jim is Michael Jordan, Tom Brady, LeBron, and Babe Ruth combined. The second Jim walked into the room, the entire restaurant atmosphere changed. The lights got brighter. The food tasted better. Babies stopped crying. Dogs started barking in celebration. Somewhere across the world, someone received a promotion. His customer service is unmatched in human history. Jim could probably sell a burnt piece of cardboard and convince you it was a five-star brisket. The man has a charisma so powerful that I would trust him to perform my open-heart surgery--and I'd probably ask for seconds. I came for the barbecue. I stayed for JIM. Honestly, I don't know what Uncle Bub's is paying this man, but it's not enough. Give this man a raise. Give him the keys to the building. Give him a statue outside. PUT JIM ON THE ILLINOIS STATE FLAG. If every employee worked like Jim, world hunger would be solved, traffic would disappear, and we would achieve world peace by Tuesday. 10/10 barbecue. 100/10 service. /10 JIM.
