Food was comforting and delicious! I love how they give you a pack of seaweed on the side, an egg, and a few dishes of banchan. It's definitely somewhere I'd come back to for my soondubu fix. It's also inside the H Mart, so you can get groceries right after. The service was very nice and friendly. The ambiance was nice since they had a food court style seating, and there are a bunch of other neighboring restaurants if you're craving something else.

Ok an update! I finally took a picture before eating and it's still as amazing as it was the first time. The spicy chicken is now one of my favorites. I have yet to have anything bad or even ok from this restaurant. The service is always friendly and she always makes it clear not to let the bag fall if you're taking it to go. She also recommends you eat there for the best results but I am shocked to hear it gets better! The short rib was flavorful and the side dishes are great! This was my first time trying kimchi so I can't say if it's the best but I loved it!

Located in the H-Mart food court. Ordered my usual Spicy Squid dish. This is a sizzling hot plate, made of Marinated stir fried squid with vegetables in Korean BBQ spicy sauce. Flavorful dish that comes with sides of Kimchi, Korean sweet potatoes, steam vegetables and Miso Soup. Optional Sunny side Egg. Thank you

#26 is delicious from this place!

Food is good, my favorite is #26, service is good too, you just gotta keep asking for napkins but other than that food is great!

Beef tofu soup combo w galbi (short ribs) was $29.95 and this is what it comes w as of 1/1/2026.

I was very, very happy with this place because they not only serve the food in Real home cooking family style bowls and plates like the ride bowl and steel silverware and the side dish trays are all metal for you. Get the galbi (short ribs) on a hot plate. For $29.95, you can get a combo meal with short ribs on a hot plate on a bed of onions and soft tofu soup (any flavor and ingredients you want ... a nice choice of items) that comes with a pack of seaweed, 5 side dishes (vege pancake, raw egg to crack into your tofu soup as soon as you get it, bean sprouts, pickled cucumber, and kimchi. The beef tofu soup was such a tasty and flavorful soup. You are allowed to request the level of spice or no spice. And the ingredients were so clean and fresh and high quality. The beef slices were plenty and good quality bc it was mostly lean ribeye meat. The soup tasted like it was stewed for hours with lots of good flavors bc it was not just water with salt and red pepper sauce w anchovy flavor. The galbi short ribs were seasoned well with a sweet taste and sesame seeds and had plenty of meat on the bone. For a simple sit down cafeteria style food court right next to Hmart, this is a great option to not have done in service and pay tip. You can enjoy food here and people watch at the same time. And you can plan for your next meal at the Japanese or Chinese or mochi or noodle places or bbq chicken or Paris baguette place in the same food court. Huge free parking lot. And in the same mall as Costco and Great Clips and so much more. A great place to eat then grocery shop. Just one thing was that you have to put the raw egg in as soon as you get the food so the heat of the tofu soup cooks the egg. It might not get too hot to solidify the yolk or egg white so hurry if you want your egg cooked.

I've been here three times since the grand opening! I've been craving a good Korean place ever since J moved back and this restaurant really hits the spot. I will say the combo is a bit pricey but the food is really good. I love the hot stone pork!

My friend recommended this place as a nice homey Korean place. The food was a bit pricy but the…read moreservice was extremely slow. Seafood pancake- it had good textures. It had some crispy outside layers and was filled with chewy seafood inside. Chap jae noodles- not bad. Well seasoned but quantities were a bit on the low end for the price. Kbbq- one order of the galbi was expensive. It was seasoned well but the quantities for 2 people were very low. Side dishes - the radishes and kimchi did not taste fresh. Atmosphere is homey. We got a booth on the side.

Great choice for Asian food in Westmont, in spite of the lackluster atmosphere. If you like Korean…read morefood, this place has lots to choose from. New Korea Garden is full of traditional dishes as well as modern takes. Has options for a few diets. The prices are pretty good and not crazy expensive like at many Asian and Korean places. Came at lunch. It's not an impressive looking place. That's the worst that can be said about this restaurant. Kind of a boring atmosphere. The food was pretty good though so whatever. It's about $14 for an entree. Maybe that sounds like a lot, but you get a lot. Entrees are mostly meaty with beef or seafood, but you can get tofu instead. They can make most of these okay for vegetarians. Each of us got the Spicy Noodle. This is buckwheat noodles in hot sauce. Additionally. this came with lots of appetizers. There was kimchi, miso soup, and lots more. For sure this is one of the best options in town for Asian. It's authentic, but it's suitable for American tastes. There's plenty of choices for meat eaters, and also many that can be made for vegans and vegetarians.

I loved our AYCE Korean bbq dinner at Seocho Garden. I was craving kbbq (and not from a chain…read morerestaurant but a friendly family-owned type of establishment) with a spread of banchan and lots of red meat. We found this spot in Lisle and headed straight there. We were 2 adults doing the AYCE ($40/per person). This meal set included choice of unlimited meat, banchan, rice, fluffy egg, veggie pancake, and certain salads. Other items were à la carte like their cold noodles ($5) and lettuce to wrap your meat or kimchi jigae, if you wanted to supplement the basic set. The food was so fresh. The banchan tasted like it was made by my friend's mom (highest compliment), and the meat was delicious. We chose bulgogi, and garlic marinated beef and an unmarinated one. There is a warning that they would charge if there were too many leftovers, so we were careful not to over-indulge since we were just 2 people. I absolutely LOVED the cold noodles. The soup was slightly sweet, buckwheat noodles were so chewy as intended (I was able to eat this without cutting it out with scissors) and included a half hard-boiled egg, slice of Korean pear, and slivers of cucumber. I would come back just for this dish. I was tempted to get the kimchi jigae but knew I wouldn't have room, and also it was sweltering hot outside, in the middle of summer. The service was friendly and quick. We came on the early side, around 6pm so the place was not packed yet with larger dinner parties. Our cups were kept filled with water and we were checked on frequently; our grill was cleaned as needed. This is a spot where I'd love to bring my parents when they visit the burbs (frame of reference is that they love San Soo Gab San in North Park). On the inside of the restaurant, there were tons of 4x6 print outs of customers over the years. I loved the family-friendly aspect of Seocho Garden. They have clearly been a staple for kbbq in the community. Four shining stars. We'll be back!
