Temperature controls and timer

Sudor is HOT! I tried the sauna studio after it was recommended to me by a friend and I have to say, I love it. The sauna concept is somewhat new to Houston, and Sudor does a fantastic job of creating a wellness experience that feels upscale but not unapproachable. The facility itself is modern and clean with ten total private sauna rooms, all roughly the same size. Each room has a sauna with adjustable temperature (165F max) and a timer to track your 45 minute session. The room also has a TV, private Bluetooth room sound system, towels, and a tiny cooler with some moist aromatherapy towels, perfect to refresh your face and neck at the end of your session. They also offer red light therapy for an additional fee if desired. After your sweat, head to the women's or men's restroom and use the cold plunge. The plunge is fairly small, to be used by one person at a time, but is enough to fully submerge your body in the sitting position. Finally, grab a shower, stocked with plenty of towels, soap, shampoo and conditioner. They have a hair dryer and a few toiletry items too if you're on your way to work or just forgot something. Water bottle fill station is conveniently located by the front desk to rehydrate on your way out. Booking is a breeze online. They also offer a number of different memberships or session packages if you want to start incorporating the sauna into your routine. Guests (up to one) are also welcome to attend each session with you for an additional $10 fee. Parking is complementary in the neighboring garage for up to two hours, just be sure to check in at the front desk to get a validation code. Sudor: a hot place for cool people. Five stars!

An amazing facility that makes you feel like a VIP with it private sauna suites that come with Bluetooth music and a TV. If you're looking to do a contrast therapy, the cold plunge is separate from the suite, in each of the men's and women's locker rooms. Locker room is a bit small, but there shouldn't be many people since they only have 10 suites, all of which fits only 2 people, with only one that fits up to 3. Towels and shampoo/body wash are provided in the locker room showers. #330

Amazing experience at Sudor Sauna after the half marathon. The front desk was very friendly and took their time explaining the infrared sauna system. I truly enjoyed the sauna and the cold plunge. The quality of the locker room could use a little improvement (ex. Use better quality shampoo/toiletries, hair ties, makeup wipes), but everything else was great.

Brought my girlfriend here for her birthday to get some hot and cold combination therapy. You get to go into one of their many hot saunas for up to 45 minutes. You have full control over the temperature, lights (colors), and Bluetooth. Their rooms are totally private with locking doors. Dry towels and wet Rosemary towels are provided. Water and other supplements are on sale at the front desk. Just bring your own water. You'll definitely need it! After this you can access to their gender separated bathrooms. Inside here is a small 55 degree cold plunge bath. It will shock you awake more than any cup of coffee could. This visit was a one time drop in. You can do this or become a member and pay weekly/monthly.

I only wish there was some kind of ambient lighting in the tub/over the tub. Otherwise, it was clean, clear and COLD!

Such a beautiful place! There are other saunas, but Sudor is just luxurious and gorgeous. I love the simple, modern, natural aesthetic. I'm so glad to have added this to my weekly routine. It's a great way to recover after a good workout, a rough week at work, or just to find your center and rebalance. Bring water, preferably with electrolytes. You're gonna sweat! They have a filtered water station and have electrolytes available for purchase, along with other accoutrements to enhance your visit. This is my fourth time here. I purchased a massage oil at the front desk to work out some of the kinks in my sore muscles. Such an ideal time for massage (during infrared therapy). It's relatively quiet in the rooms, but be mindful of others. There's a TV in each room and you can log in to your streaming service and catch up on your shows. You can blue tooth in and listen to your latest pod or just some relaxing tunes. You're in full control of lighting, temp, and time (you have 45min each session). On my second visit, I alternated between the sauna (11min) and cold plunge (3min) (about 3 cycles). There are rosemary/eucalyptus/lavender (?) scented, chilled towels in a mini-fridge in each room if you need to cool off. It's so refreshing and smells soooo gooood! On the days I Sudor, I feel like i have a great sleep that night. It really sets me up for a good week, or helps me recover from a crazy one! My only gripe is I wish there was better lighting above/in the cold plunge. Is it a deal-breaker? No. It would just be cool! Showers are clean and shampoo/conditioner/body wash are provided if you prefer. I love the natural scent of their products. Plastic baggies are available for your dirty clothes/wet clothes. Towels are also provided within the sauna and in the locker room (limit 2). There are basic toiletries available too! It's such a relaxing environment. I can't wait to bring my husband for a visit.

Our masseuses, Jessica and Alicia, were firm but gentle, making sure that every part of our bodies were treated with care. Our experience ended with some delicious Moroccan tea and baklava treats. Our skin felt so smooth and we felt so refreshed afterwards. It was a unique experience different from any other massage we've had before. From booking to communications after, the whole process was so easy. When we arrived, we were provided a space to securely leave our clothes and belongings, given comfy robes (which were more than large enough to accommodate us), and taken to our therapy room. The full body scrub and mud mask we received left us feeling cleaner than ever before. The therapists very excitedly showed us how much dead skin was coming off our bodies. While my wife's therapist was a trainee who wasn't as vigorous with her scrubbing as mine was, both were still very thorough and attentive to every inch of our skin. When they say your skin will glow after, they don't lie! Our skin looked and felt great after about a 90 minute session. The delicious baklava and tea after the session was a nice way to enjoy a moment more of calm together before we left. This facility is entirely service based, meaning there are no lounge spaces like hot tubs, pools, steam rooms, etc. All the same, this was a great experience to have before our special day.

Took advantage of the opportunity to relax a little bit in a Sunday afternoon. Call it a recovery…read moreday from working out or call it just a mental santity break to kick off the week. This is a great place to do either. The first hour and a half in the men's area rotating between the steam room, sauna hot tub and cold plunge, losing track of the time and just soaking it. The sauna and the steam room each held around 5 to 7 people, respectively. Fortunately I didn't need to push the capacity limits since the crowd was extremely light, especially for for a weekend. I strolled around and checked out the other rooms and the bulgama room was scorching hot, in the best possible way. Broken up into two different dome spaces - one hot and the other extremely hot with a fireplace- that had the cozy smell of burning wood. A fantastic sensory experience. I popped by the restaurant and the Bulgogi stew was delicious. Prices were comparable to being outside of the spa, and the quality was just as good. The food came out piping hot with a little kimchi and some potatoes and a small bowl of rice on the side. I have been to more than a handful of Korean Spas and the features that make this one stand out are: Clean smells- sounds strange to have to say this but Gangnam was clean but didn't smell like cleaning products. Each space had a unique scent based on the desired effect - cedar, burning wood, eucalyptus, etc. Comfortable uniforms - woven, soft terry cloth sets that breathed well and were easy to move in. Unique experiences in small niches- hand spa to massage your hands, foot spa with a pebble bottomed pool, plenty of lounge spaces, vibrating plates for muscle activation or relaxation, I honestly didn't have time to do it all. The staff = top notch. Friendly front desk crew gave a great first impression. The superstar was the gal who helped me decide on a tasty dish in the restaurant, providing great descriptions for all of the choices. After 4 full hours, I needed to go to my next meeting and had to leave. Nevertheless I left feeling relaxed and satisfied. Verdict: Check it out but be sure to give yourself at least 4 hours.

And this is why the rating drops to THREE STARS However, the spa's current approach to cell phone use raises serious privacy and safety concerns. Multiple guests were openly using their phones in treatment areas and even inside the locker rooms -- including taking photos and videos in spaces where individuals are undressed. Locker rooms are universally recognized as places where people have a reasonable expectation of privacy, and recording in these areas can violate that expectation, regardless of intent. Allowing phones in environments where guests are changing creates a real risk of non‑consensual photography or video, which can have legal implications and exposes patrons to harm. Businesses that operate locker rooms and similar facilities typically have a duty of care to protect guests from exactly this type of privacy intrusion. I strongly encourage the spa to implement and enforce a comprehensive no‑phone policy throughout all treatment and locker room areas. A spa should be a place where guests feel safe, respected, and able to relax without worrying about being filmed or photographed in private spaces. PLEASE KEEP this SPA classy, with privacy rules and keep the ghetto out the door!

The company actually has multiple locations all across the United States but this is their first Houston location. Inside they have a total of 8 suites with room 3 being their largest and fit for ADA accommodation. Each private room has a spacious glass sided sauna with temperature and time control, towels, and a TV. Temperature settings go up to 175F but I personally like to leave it around 165F. Sessions last for 40 minutes, controlled by the guest. Red light therapy is included with every session for free which is a nice addition since many studios charge for this as an add-on. Chromotherapy (colored lights) is also included for free. While the TV is available, it is limited to a few preset generic company meditation or jazz music videos unless you have a membership, when they will let you change it to a streaming service. My room was very clean and the sauna itself felt large, enough to easily spread out. Sounds like a great experience, right? Why three stars then? There are no showers or changing facilities. There is only one unisex restroom for the entire studio with absolutely no counter space. After profusely sweating for close to an hour, there is nothing better than a cold shower and clean, dry set of clothes but unfortunately this is not possible. Sure, guests could easily change in their own private sauna room, at least into some fresh clothes, but this is really a downfall of the studio. A couple of operational notes: a water bottle refilling station is available at the front (definitely bring a large bottle!), parking is free in the attached garage however be sure to register your car with the QRC and use the promo code to get free parking. I imagine that they would quickly ticket and/or tow. Scheduling online is super easy through their website. Finally, their membership rates are lower (just $79 for 4 visits a month) than some of the other sauna studios that I have seen in the area so that is definitely a draw if you're willing to drive home sweaty. New guests can try a session for just $20. Overall, sauna studios are an experience that I really enjoy so I might consider purchasing a very basic membership since it is pretty inexpensive, can easily be paused, and credits roll over month to month, however I am definitely disappointed in the lack of showers and changing facilities.

Sad to say, but I haven't quite used all the sessions since. They do roll over, but I believe 2 earned in that month expire every 90 days. You can also pause membership for about 2 months if you need to use up your sessions if you plan to cancel. You lose it if you don't use it. I like the idea of the private rooms with a glass-framed sauna. You can watch Netflix or other streaming or listen to meditative/relaxing music to pass the 40 minutes. They never rush you, even if you may be running late. In the room, you have the availability to change the temperature. Not sure what it goes up to, but I've seen 170 degrees. I usually do about 150-160 degrees. Sometimes mid 160s. Since it's infrared, it gets progressively hot. Your internal body temperature slowly builds up. You can also change the settings for relaxation, detox, energy, etc. There's a body, face and floor towel for you. At the end, there's a cool, wet eucalyptus face towel for you to cool off. Wear loose clothing after cause you'll continue to sweat after your session. It's recommended to hydrate prior plus have a small meal. I agree cause the heat can make you feel a little lightheaded. I bring a water bottle with me and sometimes fill it with Liquid IV. Drop your towels at the towel drop. The staff is friendly. You can book a session online or by phone. If you need to cancel, you have to call. There's a parking garage which you can park in using the code to get 2 free hours. You didn't always have to scan the QR code to pay, but that has since changed. I'm glad Perspire customers get free parking with the code. The hours are deceiving when you look on Yelp or do a Google search. They are actually open at 9 am on Saturday, not 8 am. Got there early once Saturday, and the door was still locked. If your session is at 9:05 am on the weekend, just know they open at 9 am. Weekdays you can start as early as 7 am and do evening ones past 8 pm. It's pretty relaxing. I've done it in the mornings and evenings. It does either boost your day or help you sleep at night. There's a bigger suite that could be used for couples, I think. Or maybe a mini ladies detox party for a small group of 3? Not sure how many can fit in it or if that's allowed, but it is bigger than the other 7 suits. They also sell some merch and juices. If you're into saunas, I recommend this infrared sauna. I use my apartment's gym, so this is nice to have. I like that it's less than 10 minutes from me. It's also great after a long day at work.

Make sure to take the key with you because when you check in, the staff gives you a bracelet in exchange for the key. Don't forget to wear this bracelet everywhere you go in the facility. It serves as the key to your main locker, and you also use it to pay for services and food. I highly recommend purchasing your admission ticket through Groupon because I was able to save about $10. Also, be sure to book any services you want a few days in advance. After checking in at the front desk, I stored all of my items in the locker room. You don't need to bring your wallet with you because, again, you pay for everything using your bracelet. I booked the Scrub Plus service, and it was amazing! It has been several days, and my skin is still very soft and supple. For this service, you will need to soak in the bath for about 30 minutes beforehand. After the scrub, I changed into the spa uniform provided and explored the facility. They offer a variety of sauna rooms, and my favorite was the Yellow Ocher Clay Room. I also ended up ordering tteokbokki and sikhye at the food court. The food is a little pricey, but it was delicious. Overall, I had an enjoyable birthday at Spa World. Unless you're buying add-ons, the place is mostly saunas, one cold room, and the gender specific bath houses. We walked around the whole place but couldn't find the outside terrace area, even after consulting a map of the place. The ocher bead sauna was my fav. The fire room is unbearably hot. They don't allow shoes in the spa areas but I think they need to make an exception for that room. They have rugs all over the floor and layered ontop of each other in there and it still doesn't make a difference. I became stuck in there because the floor was so hot it was burning my feet. I was standing on a super thin towel I brought in with me. I had to call for my husband to bring me another towel so I could make a makeshift pathway to the door so I could get out. Consider yourself warned. It feels in there what I assume being on fire might feel like at its beginning stages. The food looked nice but some of it was wildly expensive. $8-9 for one coffee? $4-6 for a hot tea? Ehh, I passed. I enjoyed the bath house/locker room area. The showers were nice, lots of diff pools to chose from that each served different purposes, the wrap around mirrors, body lotion, hair dryers, etc... it was great! They even had attendants in there where you could buy items or services from them. I saw many girls buying face masks. It was very zen in there. I spent a solid amount of time in there getting ready bc I had a fancy dinner with my husband afterwards so I used all the space and amenities to get ready :) Oh forgot to mention - check Groupon. We got our tickets at a discounted rate. Front desk ppl were nice and explained things thoroughly and easily.
