i have been using this cleaner for years. their prices are constantly rising. i understand things…read moreare higher than ever but their services are excessive compared to other dry cleaners. also, their seamtress prices are off the charts. i took a dress to have the zipper replaced. the person tried to insert a zipper that did not match any color in the dress. when i went back to pick up the dress, i believe the old zipper was repaired and not replaced. it was very expensive in the beginning just to have a zipper replaced. i hate feeling cheated. i am in the process of finding a new dry cleaner in the north shore. we will see. already, i have gotten cheaper cost for dry cleaning a ladies 2 pc suit. house of roth told me $20.00 for the 2 pieces, 2 other dry cleaners said $15.00. i will call 1 more before i make my decision which one to use.

I met with Sam, the owner, who greeted me right away. He asked if I had been here before and I told him "Nope, I found you on Yelp". He seemed very happy to hear that. He did look over my coat and said it should be a pretty easy job. Runs about $35 but right now there is a 30% discount going on. Then the bad news, he looked over the purse and said he doesn't do them anymore, he was going to refer me to someone else but said it would be between $60-$75 dollars. I just decided that it wasn't worth it, and I'll just give it to my granddaughter to use. (she's 8). All in all I found him to be friendly and honest. Prices seem reasonable too. On occasion I've had to ask for rush cleaning and they've always helped out with no up charging. In addition to cleaning I've had alterations done and again great. I've had motorcycle jacket collars sewed down, "speed opener" pockets added to bartending pants and most significantly a suit fitted all these things were done wonderfully at at a reasonable price. The husband and wife who run the store are great and attentive and it was disappointing to hear that they are looking at retiring in the next few years but no doubt they've earned it. Joy Cleaners has been one of the best. I came in after a week worth of laundry with a flight the next morning. They were kind enough to have my laundry done the next day so I could make my flight, which is normally out of the question for them because of the high volume they handle. I was genuinely grateful they made it happen. I also want to add this: I have had some horrible experiences at other places where my clothing came back forever damaged, shrunk, stained, or treated like it did not matter. That did not happen here. Everything came back clean, folded, and handled with care, and it felt good coming back home to clothes that still looked like mine.
