My wife and I purchased quite a bit of furniture from Suffer. We dealt with Ray (who we found out is the Mgr) he was fine up front. But after waiting for our delivery 12 weeks. They delivered the wrong Dining room table & chairs. They did not review the order before they loaded the truck. Then they say no problem it is in the warehouse we picked wrong. We will swap it. But then it gets better. A chaise lounge we ordered was made wrong. They would re order but keep the one we have in the meantime. Just what I want mismatched furniture. We were also told that the deferred payment would not start until all was corrected. The answer is they LIE. I tried to explain to the owner (Anthony) only to be told I was rude and why should he not invoice me as all of the pieces are in my home even if it is the wrong piece. If you wish to be manhandled and get the wrong furniture and be told to pay for it. Go to Suffern Furniture they do that well read more

My 4 Star rating is QUALIFIED. I was very happy to work with Joy for the purchase of a sectional sleeper for my Vermont condo. She knew her stuff and I also knew what brand I wanted and the size it had to be. After that, the interaction got a bit more frustrating. I was told the couch was in the warehouse and delivery would be set up. No word for a week. BTW, this purchase was made in Sept. and. we are now talking in Dec. Ray told ME to call the warehouse. I thought that was strange. I did so and left a message and got no response. Called the store again and had a few "words". All was finally worked out. I realize the delivery location was a distance away, but Joy had assured me that they dealt with many out of town clients with homes in FL and such. The delivery finally went well. I have no complaints there. I would just agree that SFG has to pick up a bit on how they handle their customers. It is easy to feel as though once they have your money, they forget about you. It really seems the purchaser has to follow up. read more

I purchased beautiful duet iTunes from suffern but with many issues. Some are certainly due to the manufacturer Universal but after 9 months of attempting to get my expensive bedroom furniture repaired. The communication from Anthony and Judy has been poor with it being necessary for many follow ups over the last several months just to be ignored. Most recently when I reached out in January they said the replacement has just arrived and they'd contact me to deliver. Two weeks later after I still hadn't received it, I tried to follow up again but no response. Fast forward another week or so and they said there was another issue but they don't seem to be taking care of it. Now it's over a month later which I should have been close to receiving it. Furniture issues include broken headboard, color imperfections they touched up with black marker, furniture that has lacquer/glue clothes visible and touchable and two pieces that didn't have proper lacquer. I am giving two stars instead of one because I have a feeling if the furniture actually came in good condition there might have been no issues. read more

I am writing this review after witnessing how poorly Suffern Furniture Gallery treated my parents regarding an order they placed with them back in September. They had ordered a standard La-Z-Boy chair the beginning of the last week of Sept 2015 and were told that the delivery could take 6-8 weeks, but "most of the time" orders come in earlier than that time frame. By the 8th week and still no delivery or word on where the chair was, they called Suffern Furniture Gallery several times and were told that absolutely no information could be provided as to where the chair was or when it would arrive. By the 9th week, they called again and were given the same run-around. They decided to go to the store and inquire in person. The manager and his staff could give no information as to why this delivery was taking so long and they couldn't give an approximation as to when it would arrive. The manager and his staff seemed annoyed that my parents wanted to know the whereabouts of their chair or when it would be delivered. Given no clear answers, my parents decided to cancel the order and the manager angrily refused to give back their deposit, yelling, "We've been in business over 60 yrs!". Only after threatening to contact the Better Business Bureau did the manager's assistant attempt to call the warehouse. When even the warehouse could give no date of delivery, the assistant finally returned my parents' deposit and cancelled the order. It's sad the way some businesses treat their customers nowadays. They act with a sense of entitlement and forget that it is precisely the customer that allows them to stay in business in the first place. Sixty years sounds like a good run, but it won't last if customers are disrespected and maltreated. Word of mouth will ensure that. read more

We had considerable difficulty communicating with the staff after the delivery men decided they could not deliver our furniture up our stairs. Suffern Furniture delayed speaking with us in resolving the matter and when we did talk, we were blamed for ordering "inappropriately sized furniture." After quite a few frustrating phone calls and a week or so later, Suffern Furniture sent another group of delivery men that had NO PROBLEM with the delivery. It took less than 20 minutes. It is unfortunate that they were not willing to work with us and come see our home before falsely accusing us and being unwilling to help. read more

Delivery problem: salesperson said could take up to 6 weeks. We ordered in Feb. Just rec'd sofa yesterday - in May. It is as ordered and salesperson was helpful. But I'd be shop elsewhere next time. read more

I am sorry for the experience of the last reviewer, but I felt obligated to share that, so far, our experience with Suffern furniture has been wonderful. Joy spent a long time with myself, my husband and kids, and eventually my designer, picking out our new sectional (fabrics, pillows, etc.) The furniture on the showroom floor is very nice, but they'll also show you options from the many catalogs they have. We were going to spend a small fortune on a media center from another furniture store, and they found us something similar for far less. The media center has arrived and we love it (for the price the quality is very good). Unfortunately the fabric we chose for our sectional is backordered, so it still hasn't arrived. I called to inquire about it, and when I told Suffern furniture that my husband is having surgery and will need somewhere to sit all day, they graciously offered to deliver a loaner couch. You just don't get that type of service from corporate stores. I'd definitely recommend you go here for good quality furniture and great customer service. read more
