I 100% recommend to anyone looking for a trustworthy, affordable place to take their pet! Prior to the appointment, the clinic followed up multiple times beforehand with reminders of the appointment time and date, as well as instructions for my dog for the night prior to surgery. The attention to detail is so appreciated here! Upon arriving for my appointment, I met with Dr. Berger and his staff to go over the procedures my dog was undertaking that day. The cleanliness of the office and the obvious experience the staff had with treating their patients was very reassuring for me. The staff also took note that I traveled a few hours to their clinic, and prioritized getting my dog's procedures wrapped up earlier than expected (I was expecting pickup to be around 5pm, but they were done around 2pm!) so that I could travel back home faster. This is so thoughtful and sincerely so appreciated. Upon looking at my dog's teeth, all the plaque and tartar have been removed; his teeth are sparkling white! His incision spot after neutering is also small and tidy. I am extremely grateful to LI S&N for such wonderful care and thoughtful treatment of their animal patients and human customers. I heartily recommend them.

My experience at Long Island Spay and Neuter began on a high note, characterized by exceptional…read morecare and attention for my pets. Dr. Burger, a traditional veterinarian, genuinely connected with his patients, providing compassionate and knowledgeable care. The practice's commitment to affordable spay and neuter services was a significant asset. However, over time, the focus seemed to shift towards profitability. The transition to a larger facility brought changes that negatively impacted the quality of service. The once-familiar voices answering the phone were replaced by unfamiliar staff, leading to frustrating delays in communication. The ability to see Dr. Burger diminished, resulting in a rotating roster of veterinarians that disrupted the continuity of care. Obtaining essential medication for my dogs, particularly their anti-seizure prescriptions, became a cumbersome process. I found myself needing to visit the office monthly or manage complicated interactions with online pharmacies, which added unnecessary stress. Ultimately, Long Island Spay and Neuter has transformed from a trusted veterinary practice into a business that prioritizes profit over patient care. This shift has compromised their integrity and has drawn unfortunate comparisons to less reputable practices in the area. I hope they can realign their focus on the well-being of their patients and restore the trust they once inspired.

I would like to start off by saying I have never left a review before this. but something needs to…read morebe said. Horrible place. I think I can describe it with one word. "sketchy" the entire staff do not care about the animals. The first scenario I had with them I was giving them the benefit of the doubt, during the pacing of my dog. During a very tragic accident with one of my dogs, while I was away from the situation (going through a divorce) My baby boy some how was struck by two vehicles. The animal hospital provided me with absolutely no information on the care of my dog, any details on any thing. I work in the area. and was having an issue with one of my dogs and had asked to come in. They denied my animal care. The pain I have had to live with, not knowing what had happened to my baby has killed me. I never blamed them for the result, which is why I was willing to go back, but them denying my other animals care. is questionable vet practices at best. the way I have been treated by these people, is negligence. and is something I will now need to follow up on.

From the kitties, @cheeto_and_jax_snack_cats : "Well ok so the nice doctor stuck something up our cat butts and did a thorough exam, but we still head-booped mom when we got home so all is well. Thanks for making us better, doc."

I called to make an appointment but because my dog was a senior the clerk behind the desk did not want to give me an appointment. She was really obnoxious. I persisted and got an appointment believing the indignity I suffered was worth it for a good vet to care for my fur baby. My dog was not welcomed. We were treated in a cold unprofessional way. And I was not impressed by the care my dog received. I never went back.

The medication she's been prescribed works for her. Dr. Adams told me she'd be on it her whole life, but we could test to see if she really needs it.... so we did that. But when I try renewing her prescription a short time after, it's not allowed to go thru. Why is that? I'm told by the receptionist my dog needs to come in. Why? No reason stated, it's just completely unknown as to why I'd need to come in, but I have to!! To spend more $$$. Unnecessarily. This had happened at least 5x over various things. So now you're restricting my dog's medicine that I was told she'll need the rest of her life? Goodbye. Went to a vet within a 5mi radius and she assured me there was no extra testing or anything needed for me to continue receiving my dog's medication. Greedy. Also, I've watched him work, not very clean, I can see why he chooses to have people wait outside while he takes the animals back. & In my opinion, he's not well informed on proper dog diets, just pushes Hills brand product without question. A salesmen. P.S. doc wears his political opinion on his sleeve. Who cares what side you're on? Unprofessional.
