I had to bring my dog in after she came home from daycare with a deep laceration on her neck from a freak accident involving a chain-link fence. Dr. Azagrar thoroughly examined her and reassured us that it was not a dog bite, but that the wound would require staples. He prescribed an antibiotic and an anti-inflammatory, and I'm happy to say she's healing beautifully! There was a bit of a wait, but it was absolutely worth it because I knew my dog was in great hands. The care and compassion we received gave us so much peace of mind during a stressful situation. I brought my pug, George, to Pet ER today, and I felt compelled to share just how exceptional this experience was. George's nails had grown so long they were beginning to cut into his pads--something no pet owner ever wants to see. To make matters more difficult, George is absolutely terrified of having his nails cut. It's always been a stressful experience for him. But when I brought him to Pet ER, they immediately put us at ease. They were more than happy to help, took him in right away without an appointment, and had everything done in less than two minutes. To my amazement, George didn't make a single peep--he stood calmly and allowed them to do exactly what they needed to. They even told me he was perfect! I was truly blown away. From the moment we walked in, the level of compassion, professionalism, and genuine care we received was beyond anything I've experienced in a long time. I've been part of the Setauket community for 58 years and have owned and cared for many animals over my lifetime--including horses, goats, donkeys, dogs, and cats. Having worked with countless veterinarians in this area and beyond, I can say with complete confidence that Dr. Azagrar and the entire team at Pet ER stand out in every way. They are not only highly knowledgeable and skilled, but truly compassionate. Our cat Alexa, was constipated, wasn't able to pass bowel movements for five days, then started to not eat or drink water. She was also vomiting white foam. We got her into Pet ER right away. They were quick to examine her. Told her she needed to stay for two days they will put her on IV and manually remove her bowel movements. Her bowel movements were hard like rocks and built up behind her pelvic bone. Dr. Azagrar was very informative and thorough his work. The nurses and staff were amazing, very helpful and friendly .we put $1000 deposit down and got approved for care credit card to pay for the rest of the $4000. They updated us 2 to 3 times a day with Alexa's progress with phone calls, sent pictures and text messages. When we picked her up, they gave us all the right medication and her blood work information ,physical examination notes, diagnosis, assessment ,care she received during her visit there and home care. We've had to bring our little cat here a couple more times this year, and I just wanted to say that Dr. Azagrar and his team here have been so loving and kind to her. We've sadly been dealing with some very serious health issues for her, but Dr. Azagrar and his staff made her feel loved and comfortable, and even after multiple overnight stays she always came back to us looking and seeming to feel a lot better. He's an extremely thorough vet and has shown our cat tremendous empathy through her illness, and was always on top of next steps and medications to try and improve her quality of life as much as possible. I wouldn't recommend this office, the front desk Is very unprofessional and there is only 1 Dr available. If you order images, they are not shared with you the following day as promised, unless you follow up on multiple occasions. I am so please and happy with the service and care my 16 1/2 year old dog received in the middle of the night on a weekend at Pet ER. My dog was having a seizure and they took us right in and Dr. Azagar and his team were fast and effective. Dr. Azagar came out to talk with us after they were able to get my dog in stable condition. He was polite and professional. The next day when we went to pick her up, he spent time with us helping to understand what happened and how to help her going forward. My adorable, sweet and funny 7yr old Cavalier has heart failure. He's has several escalations of symptoms and after having an absolutely horrid experience at VMCLI (where my pup's cardiologist is) we came to Pet ER for the first time in April. We have sadly had to come back 2x since then, but we are so grateful Dr Azragar is right in our community. He took wonderful care of my sweet boy and the rest of the staff was amazing too. My experience was far better than I expected. From my initial phone call up until I walked out of the door after receiving excellent care everyone was just so pleasant. Avoid this place at all costs. It is my opinion that the doctor and staff are unprofessional and do not care about animals. The concern is only about making money and overcharging. They will also perform services without notifyimg you in advance and then try to charge you for it. I'm a Three Village Dad (3VD), and volunteered for the SCSPCA for over five years. Go to another clinic and avoid this place at all costs. I attached photos. One of an email to Azagar demonstrating that he is being less than truthful about not knowing who my dog was, she was there yesterday and a post I put up on 3VD to make sure they know what occurred. Yesterday in the very early morning, hours my 10 year old cat Noel was screaming; had horrible diarrhea and was hiding under a chair. She urinated all over me when I lifted her and I thought the worst was coming. I googled a 24 hour vet and found Pet ER 24/7. I called. Dr. Azagrar answered and said come right over. Turned out that my sweet girl had hurt her back and was dehydrated from not drinking causing the nausea and Dr. Azagrar made an accurate diagnosis and gave her pet meds and IV hydration and now she is fine and coming home today.
