Sugar, Butter, Chocolate made our wedding cake, and wedding night, one to remember! The cake that they created for us was delicious perfection and beautiful as well. They even referenced our flower theme in the design. In the years since our wedding we have continued to go back to them for baked goods, including purchasing a mini-recreation of our wedding cake for our anniversary. I could not have imagined a more full sense way to celebrate and remember our special day. Thank you to SBC for continuing to help us celebrate the occasions that matter in the most delicious ways! All the best, Daniel

The space is relatively small, with a line inside and outside and a few tables outside. The length of the line and wait time varies based on the time of day and if you go on a weekday vs weekend. Go early if you don't want them to sell out of anything or purposely go a little later if you want one of their lunch sandwiches on focaccia. I have had the tomato and garlic focaccia twice now and each time it has been exceptional. Minor critique, the slices of garlic could be a bit smaller. I also had the shakshuka focaccia which is divine and I would absolutely recommend both. I need to come back to try their sandwiches as well. I am not a sweets person, but everyone I know loves their pastries. Getting someone a gif tcard here makes for a great gift.

I'm usually more of a savory girlie but all the sweet items we tried were great, especially the rhubarb croissant and the earl grey morning bun. I really enjoyed the focaccia sandwiches (smoked salmon and pea/mint/feta were elite) and the artichoke green garlic slice. The flavor of the sesame stirato was excellent but the bread itself was a tad too chewy for the filling we got with it (tuna salad), so that style probably works better with the jambon beurre. Will definitely be on the rotation whenever I'm in the city -- would love to try some of their seasonal/limited edition items one day, though not sure if I have it in me to brave the lines that can form on the weekends, lol! We'll see :)

It is so clear that they use incredibly high-quality ingredients and carefully curate each component, which is exactly why everything comes together in such an elevated way. The tomatoes reminded me of the ones I grew in my garden during California summers as a teenager. Perfectly salted, layered over soft, not-too-tart feta. The focaccia was made with beautiful olive oil and, while a bit chewier than I usually prefer, gave the sandwich a satisfying bite. I had to close my eyes while eating it just to savor it. The chocolate cherry almond croissant... wow. Such a creative combination, and it did not disappoint. Soft, buttery, and filled with a sour cherry compote that reminded me of a cherry cordial from a box of chocolates. 5/5. Hainsley, who helped me, was exceptionally lovely. Everyone even in line was very nice, the vibes were awesome. I'll definitely be back to try the spicy tofu sandwich and the heirloom tomato tart!

While they didn't have their full selection available, there were still plenty of pastries to choose from. We ended up getting the vanilla kouign amann and the chocolate PB&J croissant. The kouign amann was flaky, buttery, and beautifully caramelized. The chocolate PB&J croissant was easily our favorite. It was filled with rich, decadent chocolate and a layer of jelly that balanced everything out without making it overly sweet. My significant other hasn't stopped talking about it since! We're already looking forward to coming back to try more.

The actual area itself is quite cute, and I like the way the interior was decorated. It has a very minimal vibe, but it really suits the place and the neighborhood. We got an Iced Americano, a Mortadella Scallion Pancake Sandwich, and a cocktail called Lovers Quarrel. The drinks were honestly pretty good and very much needed for the weather. The cocktail had this airy tart taste that perfectly matched the vibe of the drink. The sandwich itself was good, however it was extremely oily. The actual taste of the sandwich reminded me a lot more of Indian Omelets than Scallion Pancakes, but regardless, was still tasty, just wish it had less oil. They typically bring the drinks and food over to your table if you decide to sit at a table, which makes it a lot more convenient. The people working there were also doing an amazing job, so kudos to them. Overall not bad, maybe I might come back when it's cooler for the dessert items.

I've found myself stopping by a few times, most recently on a soft Monday evening, mid-run, just as the sun was beginning to set. It was one of those pauses you don't plan for, yet end up appreciating the most. Each visit has been defined by their pastries--thoughtfully made, deeply flavorful, and consistently comforting. While I've tried a number of items over time, what stands out most is how difficult it is to go wrong here. There's a quiet confidence in everything they serve. On my most recent visit, I settled on a flat white alongside a saffron-based pastry filled with cream. Both were exceptional. The coffee was rich and steady, grounding in its warmth, while the pastry carried a delicate balance of sweetness and depth--the saffron present but never overpowering, the cream adding just enough indulgence to make it feel complete. The space itself feels like a small retreat. The interior leans into a cozy, almost cabin-like warmth--wooden textures, soft lighting, and an intimacy that makes you feel instantly at ease. It's the kind of place that invites you in gently, encouraging you to slow down, even if just for a few moments. On my last visit, I was served by Forrest, who was welcoming and kind, adding to the ease of the experience without making it feel overly structured. Bakeri is not the kind of café that demands attention--it earns it quietly, through consistency, warmth, and the simple pleasure of well-made pastries. It's a place I find myself returning to without much thought, knowing that whatever I choose, it will be just right for the moment.

From the front, Bakeri looks small and cramped, and I think that visual alone probably talks a lot of people out of stopping in. What they're missing is the outdoor patio tucked behind the building, which opens the whole place up. Honestly, if it weren't for my friend, who lives nearby and comes here often, I probably would have skipped it myself based on that first impression. That's just how the cookie crumbles in NYC: plenty of great spots lose customers before they even walk in. The brunch, though, was genuinely good and healthy. I got the salmon and avocado on rye, which was pretty decent. Worth pushing past the storefront and finding your way to that back patio.

Well that's a lie, my one complaint is that I wish the mini croissant cereal wasn't sold out so often! But how can I blame them because their stuff tastes SOOOO good? I've been to France multiple times and let me tell you this place is the real deal! The space is typical of any spot in the city, not super big. We arrived roughly an hour after they opened, and thankfully there wasn't a line. It was a weekday so I guess it's less busy. The bakery is charming, and since they have a few outdoor seats, we enjoyed the nice weather that morning. We tried several of their most popular pastries, starting with the almond raspberry croissant. The croissant was crispy on the outside, and perfectly flaky inside, with just the right amount of raspberry filling. It wasn't overly sweet, which I really appreciated. Next was the cinnamon roll. It was good, but it wasn't my favorite. Personally, I prefer the Radio bakery better. I like a cinnamon roll with a bit more structure and chew, while this one was very soft and fluffy. It's just a matter of personal preference. The chocolate chip cookie was excellent--chewy, rich, and exactly what you want from a great bakery cookie. On the other hand we also had the chocolate cookie that was very similar looking to the LU brand, but we didn't like it. To drink I ordered an iced almond milk latte. It was fine, but nothing particularly memorable compared to the pastries. I really enjoyed the visit. While L'Appartement 4F isn't my favorite bakery, everything we tried was well made and flavorful, and Im glad I made the drive to experience it. If you're in Brooklyn, it's definitely worth stopping by.
