This is my go-to auto place. Nick as the owner is professional with everything he does and is honest about the issue and the best way to fix it. REAL RATING - PLEASE READ - Not an honorable shop - beware! Other posts must be from the owner! Okay, I have a nice, will kept Pontiac G8. I went here to get my car inspected. The shop manager, Chad, came out to speak with me upon competition of the inspection - - - with a quote for new tires. He handed me the unsolicited quote and explained that I would need my tires replaced soon. The quoted "out the door" price was reasonable (they included a swap out the best used tire for the spare tire) - and I was aware the tires were needing to be replaced, so I made an appointment. On the day of the appointment, I again reminded the service tech to attend to the spare tire. They mounted and balanced the four tires and proceeded to give me the invoice......which was $17.11 more than what was originally quoted. They also failed to swap the tire with the spare. I mentioned these facts to Chad and he took my car in the back to get the spare swapped (he also took my money). They used the worst of the tires for the spare (of course, they sell the used tires to the secondary market). When I called Chad on this he took me to the back and showed me the tire they removed from the spare rim and he showed me the other tires they removed. This act pissed him off........... I left the shop and went home to collect the original written quote (I should have taken it with me to the shop). I also checked the pressure in the tires, which were EXTREMELY over pressure - 50 psi. I returned back to the shop where the OWNER greeted me in the driveway. I explained the tires were over-inflated and that I was over charged. He gave me all sorts of excuses why the bill was $17.11 more than the quote, claimed that I was unreasonable. He was quite aggressive and immature with his tone. He ultimately agreed to refund me the money (claiming that I was "pulling one over on him") and adjust the pressure in my tires. He gave me the cash, fixed my tire pressure issue, then told me to never return to his business again. I don't like getting one price and then charged another. Nice way to do business????????? BTW, Chad stayed inside during the conversation because, and I quote from the owner, "he is to pissed to deal with you." Seriously, how does this place stay in business? Later I noticed that I also had one scared rim from the amateur instillation of the tires. Wish I would have taken a picture of all the rims before the instillation. It's not often that I write a 5-star review but, it's also not often that I am presented with great service from start to finish. I had my car's tires replaced today and the technician advised me to get an alignment on the vehicle. Yikes, I hadn't had one since I bought the car and it had been forever since I had obtained one on my previous vehicle. So, I was expected a huge hit in the wallet. So, of course, I turned to Yelp to find a technician in the area. I used the "Request a Quote" function and then I came upon Sugar Creek Auto. The owner answered me fairly quickly...2 minutes quick. OK. 2 points for SCA. Although, I sent messages to several people, this was the best quote at $49.95. Cha-ching, the price was right! Within 30 minutes, I had a scheduled appointment with the owner, through the app. Anyone who knows me knows, I love an appointment. I don't waste your time, you don't waste mine. Great. Scheduling....2 more points. I arrived, I was greeted by an awesome front desk person and I was checked-in and the car was pulled back in about 10 minutes. Mind you, I'm still looking for the other shoe to drop because this is awesome so far. After the car was pulled back, the owner came out to thank me for booking the appointment and we had a little small talk. 2 more points. About 40 minutes after the car was pulled back, I was pulled aside for the consultation and I had a question. What better place to answer the question, than the service bay. I was invited to take a look at the diagnostic machine and the front desk person (whose name escapes me...sorry) gave me a full explanation of particulars of an alignment job. When we came back in, he even offered to fill my Yeti with water. All the while, I'm thinking that I have fallen into a black hole of good service and attentiveness. Once the car was done, I paid the bill and I was invited to grab a snack on the way out the door. I was thanked for coming and I left. These kinds of experiences are few and far between, I had to share. While getting my oil changed in early July by a different auto shop, a variety of vehicle maintenance issues were flagged. Rather than just going back to that same place, I figured while I was out of town later that month, I would leave the car with a friend - Mr. Edwin Lazo over at Sugar Creek Auto - to get their professional opinion. Whenever their multi-point inspection was finished, I received a link via text with a tour of my vehicle and their findings! Using an easy to interpret traffic light color-coded key, I was able to view photos of the car parts that were flagged. Not only did they show me those photos, but it went on to explain the importance and function of the part itself, what is at risk whenever the part is malfunctioning or not performing at its best - all in simple little video snippets that would make a toddler understand! The problem I ran into was now having two different inspections with different maintenance suggestions and not knowing which report to rely upon. Not to keep me confused for long, Edwin was available to help sort out those differences both over the phone and via text (whichever one I was best accessible with at the moment), as well as help echo the prioritization of the suggested repairs. Putting my trust into the hands of Sugar Creek Auto, I decided to have them hold onto my car and make the repairs as suggested. Despite needing a few parts to ship in from out of state to make the repairs, to my surprise, they loaned me a vehicle to use while my car was in the shop - no additional fee! When my vehicle was ready for pickup - again with the surprises - they had it washed and polished, too! This store is unfair i'm a girl and had a simple nail in my tire they refused to help me. I had this same problem before another store fixed it with no hesitation. One of the workers didn't want to fix it instead tried to offer me to buy a new tire. Because of this I was stranded on the road and a guy who was a mechanic who helped me said they could have fixed this issue. Ladies please don't come to this store. I've been a customer of Sugar Creek Auto for the better part of the last 20 years. My mother and father also have had their vehicles serviced by Sugar Creek Auto in that time. I can say from my extensive personal experience that the owners and employees are very courteous - I really cannot understand the reviews that say otherwise. I chalk those reviews up to irritable people who have been inconvenienced by an unexpected vehicle repair. Their experiences would have been the same or worse somewhere else. I also take issue with anyone arguing that they don't go out of their way to make things right. There have been times when I was frustrated with the service or repairs provided (in particular, a oil leak on my mother's 2003 Ford Taurus that seemed to reappear over and over), but Nick Dixon made several repairs to the vehicle under warranty and for free until the leak was finally fixed. I cannot imagine that many other service stations would go to such lengths to keep a customer happy. Also, I must disagree with the reviews that suggest Sugar Creek Auto recommended unnecessary repairs. As Nick Dixon has more eloquently explained in his responses to some reviews, his business in not in the habit of putting band-aids on bullet holes. They believe in making genuine repairs or replacements and not simply the cheapest option to keep your vehicle going till the next failure. You can get cheap service anywhere - good service is much harder to come by. At least in my experience, they thoroughly review every vehicle that comes in for service and provide you with a list of recommended services based on their inspection. You can ask for more details and they'll let you know how serious the issue is. For example, they let me know that the front brake pads on my vehicle had less than 20% pad remaining and I should consider replacing them. The choice as to when was left up to me, but they advised I bring the vehicle back within 6 months for a check. They only time I have ever seen an employee of Sugar Creek Auto be assertive (not pushy) is when they are concerned for the safety of your vehicle. So, I suppose one might wonder why the 4-star review instead of 5? Because there's always room for improvement! My biggest complaint in the last six months would be that the shop is more busy than usual (not really a bad thing if you think about it). I brought my vehicle in for a oil change and tire rotation recently for which I required an appointment because they were too busy for me to just drop it off. I waited slightly over an hour for an oil change and tire rotation. That, in my opinion, is a little too long to wait for such common services, especially considering I had an appointment and was on-time (within about 5 minutes of the stated appointment time). In the past, when a repair or service would take a significant amount of time, I had been offered a ride home so I would not have to wait. That was not offered to me at my last service, and I do not know if that is still their policy. For sure, such a thing is not a common practice at other service stations, so I do not fault them for this. I conclude my review with a piece of friendly advice for Mr. Dixon: When you are greeting someone and he or she asks you how you are doing, you might find a better response than, "Fair to middling." While I can relate, some people may be put off by that response. First impressions can make a big difference. read more

Took my car in for an oil change and asked them to also look at the AC as it was not cooling. After several hours the mechanic called to let me know that I would need to replace the entire system at a cost of over $2500. I declined the work and took my car to the dealer for further review. Within the hour the dealer called back to let me know it only needed to be charged with freon at a charge of $150. AVOID! AVOID! AVOID! read more

This is a terrible service station. First of all the people who work there are very rude. I had brought in my car for alignment. They checked it out and said they couldn't align it because the tire rod ends needed to b replaced. They then gave me a quote for $500+ to replace them. so i took my car ordered tire rod ends from toyota and got it replaced elsewhere all for under 100 dollars. But i still needed alignment. At this point i shud have saved my time and gone elsewhere for alignment but decided to give them another chance. I took my car in again and they checked it out and said they could not do the alignment. When i asked why, they said it was too much work. TOO MUCH WORK????? bunch of lazy bums. I took my car to bissonet and got my wheels aligned for $20 cheaper and much better service. This service station SUCKS!!! read more

Well, after replacing my perfectly-fine windshield wipers myself (instead of paying your shop $25) and spending $700 for a new power steering pump, high pressure hose and labor, I'd have to say that I can't afford to bring my vehicles to your shop anymore. If you want to discuss refunding me $250 or more, let me know and I'll contact you personally (and I'll add a third post here saying you did your best to ease my frustration). The only downside is sometimes the people there close the oil and lube station early, so you usually need to get there before 4pm to get your oil changed when in doubt. read more

I've been getting my vehicle here for a few years, and never had problems. They were always polite, helpful and timely in the past. My entire family brings all their automotive needs here. I walked in at 5 minutes after 5:30 pm and was denied an oil change by a less than polite employee. She said I would have to come back the next day. On the door and website, it's advertises closing at 6 pm. Change your advertising or stick to your 6 pm closing time. I'm not going to go out of my way to drive over there again tomorrow or ever again if this is what I am to expect. I'd rather go somewhere closer and more convenient to my work or home. read more

These people are very unproffessional. I went to get my allignment done and they charged my card. When i asked them about the allignment report they said that their printer is not working and they couldnt provide me the report for allignment. How would i even know whether they actually did the allignment. And even i dont see any difference while driving. I would not have done my allignment here if i knew that their printer is not working. So guys be careful about these guys. I would not recommend anyone to go there. read more
