Maybe it was just a busy Saturday morning, but the young woman helping us didn't seem thrilled that I was taking photos and asking about the pastries. I get that most of their customers are probably regulars who already know what they want, but for those of us just passing through, a little guidance (and patience) would go a long way. Even with that experience, I'd still recommend stopping by. The pastries really are that good, the prices are fair, and it's the kind of nostalgic, old fashioned bakery that's getting harder to find these days.

Dunkin' Donuts has much better donuts. As you can see, most of the donuts were eaten. Not because they were good, but because my boyfriend was absolutely starving.

We had a large party for my parent's 50th Wedding Anniversary and Sugar Pie was able to help us do a recreation of my parent's wedding cake. They did a 3 tier wedding cake with Almond Cake and Vanilla Buttercream. It was seriously out of this world...took me back to the old school wedding cake that we used to be used too. Everyone at the party was going on an on about it and having more than one piece...wish we just would have gotten it a little bit bigger due to the double dipping on cake. Every time I go in I'm surprised by the fun, creative ideas they've come up with. Have you ever seen Hot Chocolate Cheesecake before? I hadn't until Sugar Pie Bakery made it. And of course everything always tastes delicious, you can tell everything is homemade and not from a box. They make their cupcakes and other goodies fresh every day so you have to get there quick because once they sell out, they're out till the next day. I would give them 10 stars if I could! read more
