    Breakfast Sandwich
    David F.

I thought this place was really nice! It was located right across the street from where I was vacationing. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There wasn't a lot of seating inside but if you do happen to want to eat there you can.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff seemed pretty nice. Everything tasted great! I got a breakfast bagel sandwich. It had egg, cream cheese and turkey on it. The kids got a chocolate donut and cheese danish. I really enjoyed my Chai tea latte w/almond milk and caramel. Best chai latte I've ever had. I wish I had one right now. I can't wait to go back the next time I'm visiting.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]The place was behind a little shopping center and is a mom & pop kind of place. It's a bit hidden and behind another building.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Upon entering, there were several cases of parties that we looked at. We stood there and checked out the different parties for about 5-10 mins until someone greeted us and helped us. My wife is the one with sugar tooth so she grabbed a couple of cannolis, macaroons and other goodies. Happy wife happy life right? [[HIGHLIGHT]]It is a bit away from the tourist spots so it was not crowded. I assume this is where the locals go to get their donuts and pastries.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I recommend going early for fresh selections.

We love this place! We enjoyed a chocolate croissant, bear claw, two double espresso and of course a chocolate cupcake for later! Service is always so friendly. Can't wait to come back!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Small bakery tucked along Lake Tahoe Blvd. Inside had a few tables to enjoy your treat.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There was still a good selection Saturday afternoon. We settled on a lemon meringue tart and pecan tart. Lemon meringue was more sweet and didn't have enough lemon tartness. We liked the pecan one better.

I've always wanted to stop in here after driving by on many visits to the area. We arrived after noon, so perhaps donut selection wasn't as good, but still lots of items to choose from. Very friendly service and reasonable prices. We tried a maple donut, chocolate croissant, bread pudding, strawberry cupcake and day old apple danish. The cupcake was disappointing, not much flavor and icing too light, like whipped cream, for my tastes. Chocolate croissant was big and tasty. Maple donut was tasty. Bread pudding is very dense and pretty yummy.

7 years later and it's still as good as we remembered! We got a little bit of everything to stay as well as a box to go. Service is still great and they allowed us to take our time and ask plenty of questions. Want something a little less sweet, cinnamon roll is the way to go. Best bites this trip: Bear claw and little chocolate cup!

Sugar Pine Bakery is a small little bakery/cafe that has won several awards. Baked goods and desserts. The service was nice, patient, and friendly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have inside seating available.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We tried a couple of items...plain butter croissant and a blueberry Scone.

Chocolate Cake with Fresh Strawberry Filling

We got a cake from Sugar Pine Bakery, and it was fantastic! The cream was light and fluffy, and the cake itself was incredibly moist. The buttercream on the outside was a bit hard and needed some time to thaw, but other than that, it was perfect. It's definitely a great spot, and I'd highly recommend it if you're in the Tahoe area!

If I could give 0 stars I would. I saw their Thanksgiving menu for desserts, and was very excited to get the bread pudding because it's my mom's favorite. It. Was. So. Disappointing. We're used to soft, moist pudding-like bread pudding; this was stiff, absolutely no flavor, some unbaked flour on the inside. Everyone who ate it at our dinner couldn't even stomach it because it was so hard. And it was $30 for a small 8 in. I haven't heard my mom stop complaining about money wasted for the past few days, so thanks!

Went in for a last minute birthday cake and was received with the best service! Luis (i believe was his name) was so nice and very helpful as he answered all of our questions. the cake was around $35 and was so tasty and yummy! [[HIGHLIGHT]]very cute interior that sells local art, very cosy place[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Went into the bakery one morning to try out a couple of pastries . It was fairly early (about 9a) so they had most of the selection . We ended up trying the chocolate croissant which was on (3.5/5) and the pecan pie which was...ok(3.5/5). Both didn't feel super fresh but the dough was quite crispy and the filling was reasonable . I would probably try other places next time

    Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup Cake

I ordered a cake to celebrate my step dad's birthday while we were vacationing in south lake. We ordered the 8" Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup cake. It was very reasonably priced at $45, and it was DELICIOUS! So moist, not overly sugary sweet. The inside had peanut butter whipped cream layered with chunks of actual peanut butter cups! It was heaven! And I am not normally a chocolate cake person. 100% recommend ordering this cake!

Do you bake eggless or vegan cakes ? Asking for a custom birthday cake order

    Yes, they make vegan cakes

I keep getting a busy signal, Can I call to order a cake over the phone?

I actually ordered in person, because I wanted to take a picture in to show them what I wanted. I did notice that they are very often shorthanded, and may not have time to answer the phone if it is a very busy time for orders in person or if it is…

Sugar Pine Bakery, what IS the brand of coffee you sell? I was told "Sierra" (not Alpen Sierra) and that you don't sell it, but I'd like to buy or order it. What exactly is it?? Thanks :)

It is from Alpen Sierra Coffee they sell and use for their coffee drinks!

Does anyone know if it is again under new ownership? Been awhile since I've been in.

Yes we are, we added more to the menu and we offer any custom cake or pastries.

I wish they would open one of these near where I live. Actually, that would probably be a bad idea because I would want to go there every day. Up on the second floor, this place can be a little tricky to find. But once you get close you can definitely smell the beautiful aroma of fresh baked cookies and ice cream. The service here is friendly and helpful. My wife and I ordered a Bear Bowl, which is either a large cookie or a brownie, warm, topped with ice cream. We opted for a brownie with a berry pie ice cream and Smore Ice cream. Both of the ice cream flavors deliciously creamy, while the brownie was rich and chocolatey. Honestly, this was as good as it gets in my opinion. We couldn't stop eating it even though we weren't even quite that hungry. If you're around South Lake Tahoe be sure to come here.

I had the S'mores, my daughter chose the Bear Batter, and my husband went with the Blackberry Crumble on a lemon cookie. We all enjoyed our treats, and the flavors paired really well together. My only critique is the cookies themselves. Visually, they didn't look very appetizing because they appeared quite underbaked. While they actually tasted good, I think they would have been even better with a little more time in the oven. A slightly firmer, more golden cookie would have made the overall dessert even more enjoyable. That said, the ice cream was great, the staff was friendly, and it's a fun place to stop if you're craving something sweet. I'd definitely come back and try another combination!

What I wasn't expecting was to have some of the best coffee I've ever had in my life. they make all of their syrups in house and they are all delicious , they have eco-friendly to go cups, which I really appreciate. my personal favorites were anything with their vanilla or toffee syrups or the seasonal Horchata latte. But honestly, beyond all of that, the staff is so nice and accommodating . The ambience is unbeatable so many places to work. Enjoy your coffee or just hang out. It doubles as a bookstore and a coworker space there's lots of options, but definitely a place that you can stick around and drink your coffee. We went every single day of our trip , we intended to try other spots in Tahoe, but just kept coming back here every morning. I truly love trying new coffee spots, and I don't think I've ever been as excited as when I came here. This place was nearly 20 minutes from the place that we stayed and we still drove out every single morning to get coffee here that's how good it is . (I just double checked the DD site and apparently that has been fixed. And a Half Dozen is actually priced at $50 now, so a dollar cheaper.) I enjoyed all our meat pies. Especially with the chimichurri. Tho i wish they gave us two of each sauce as three small containers was not enough. The hubs fav was the beef. I liked that and the chicken. The crust was chewy and flaky. Our order wasn't quite ready when we got here, so we waited outside the store for approx 5ish min. The kind cashier brought it out to us. Parking was easy.
