We came based on reviews and pictures and were quite disappointed. The staff was very friendly and sweet. The Thai iced tea was ok and the donuts were not good. There was not enough flavor in neither the cinnamon roll nor the chocolate cake donut. The chocolate did not taste like chocolate. It was tasteless. A great stop for a Tahoe treat. My kids had seen the sign for mochi donuts near Stateline and requested we make a special trip to get one. The hours of the Stateline location are a little hit or miss so seeing this one pop up on yelp made it to logical stop. We strolled in later in the afternoon and found a case with a decent selection of donuts which included a few of the mochi variety. The kids were all hyped to get them, but then they saw the cleverly decorated donuts in the case, and immediately changed their minds in favor of those sporting the sugary icing and candy toppings! It's summer so I'm saying yes to everything and one child was enjoying a bright blue shark attack doughnut while the other had a deep and Rich chocolatey s'mores donut. Both of them were in hog heaven, and didn't look up from their plates until only crumbs remained. All of that said, I'm not sure this is a remarkable donut shop so just expect the basics and expect those basics to be done well. This is the reason for three stars over four or five. It's not really an experience in the selection isn't anything truly truly unique. There's nothing really special to the shop though there is a cute little wall mural to snap some photos with. Parking is super simple in the large lot and there's a good amount of space inside if you do want to sit and enjoy your donut. Staff was super friendly and helpful too. It's clear this is a family run operation and they have a lot of regard for their customers. This is a great stop. If you wanna bring back a little treat to those at the hotel or house nearby. Wow, what a nice little place! Great selection of delicious donuts, many with creative designs, but the star here is the wonderful lady who runs the shop. What a kind beautiful person. We need more people like this in the world and we need more people like this to run our local businesses who are so friendly and welcoming to the customers and want to make sure they get a good experience. Her friendly smile and cheerful attitude sure brightened up my day, even more than the donuts. Now to the donuts themselves, they are mostly traditional, American style donuts, but they also have mochi donuts which you haven't tried them are made with rice flour and are a little bit chillier but definitely an interesting donut experience if you'd like to get away from the usual donuts for a change. They have the donuts prepackaged in a random variety. You can still buy the donuts single as well. I got a cinnamon roll that seemed a day old. I'm from the East Bay and usually pretty picky when it comes to boba, but this place surprised me. The lady at the counter (I think she might be the owner?) was super patient and had me try my honey black milk tea with boba before I left -- I ordered it at 50% sugar, and she wanted to make sure it was just right. Even offered to remake it if I wasn't into it, which was really thoughtful. The tea itself? Strong -- like, actually tea and not just watery milk. The boba was smaller than the typical spot but super fresh with that perfect chewy texture (made fresh in house). I also had a donut (regular American-style, not mochi), and while it was on the smaller side, it hit the spot. Definitely not mad about it after a 2-hour hike. There was no line with a fair selection of donuts still available ~1:45pm on a Friday. From the mochi donuts we got 1 maple + 1 strawberry (there were also a few plain glazed & 1 green option (matcha?)) - strawberry was the winner; both were pleasantly chewy (as expected). My man also got a fruity pebble raised glazed donut which was surprisingly delicious to me - I'm not the biggest (artificial) sweets person but this had a nice balance plus the added crunch was fun & it was just one layer so not tooooo much fruity pebble madness. The mochi donuts are on the heavy side compared to lighter and fluffier ones I've had at other bakeries, but the frosting flavors were on point, especially the strawberry one. I wanted a cinnamon roll with raisins but the cashier told me she's never heard of a cinnamon roll "with raisins" only glazed or no glaze. There's plenty of parking outside. No outside sitting area only inside. The lady that was working this morning was very nice. First time being here. I had ordered a maple mochi donut. It was NOT a mochi donut. It was not at all chewy and did not have any consistency to be called a donut (look at the picture I posted). I dislike giving bad reviews but I also like being honest and don't lie (if you ever read any of my other reviews or follow me- I hate doing this to family own mom and pop business but really to ANY business). I couldn't eat the mochi donuts. The glazed heart donut did it for me. It wasn't cooked enough. Making them into heart and star shape was cute but if you can enjoy eating them, it is a waste of effort. I usually buy the bar glazed donut but some of there donuts look way smaller in size compared to other donut stores. I'm not sure if I will ever come back but I do like to give places another try before completely never going back. The cinnamon roll was VERY hard. Stop by while visiting Lake Tahoe. The jalapeno cheese and ham croissant, the cheese was cold inside. I wish the round chocolate donut with cluster had cream inside instead.
