The reservation process was easy, and she made sure we had everything we needed when we arrived. We found a list of local restaurants on the dining table, which was very helpful. (Tip: If you're going downtown for dinner, don't drive -- it's a nice walk from the inn, plus it's hard to find parking downtown.) The inn is in a quiet area, and we slept quite well in Lola's room. In the morning, the breakfast Janet made was incredible! Egg and cheese croissant sandwiches with fresh basil, thick sliced bacon, fresh fruit, juice, and coffee. One of the best meals I've ever had! The grounds are lovely. There is a pool and a hot tub, and plenty of places to sit and relax outdoors. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, so much that I wish we could have stayed longer! We definitely will next time. :)

Barbara answered the phone and she was so pleasant and helpful, I knew it wasn't a mistake. Peter greeted us upon our arrival. He was just too sweet! Walked us around, gave us our key, etc. He told us about the various areas of interest and we had a great conversation about where they moved from. I was sorry to not meet Barbara, she was visiting family. The house is darling, lots of antiques and nick-nacks, cabinets full of crystal and old teacups & China, lots of family pictures. It was like walking through my great-grandmother's house. We stayed in the Brunswick room, overlooking the backyard. Quiet & peaceful, like we stepped back in time when things were simple. I was pleased that there was no TV (they do have WiFi, don't panic). Overall, it was a great stay and I hope to visit again.

The breakfast was top notch and did I mention the cookies? Barbara has been making these blue ribbon (the blue ribbon is next to the cookie jar) sugar cookies for over 20 years. I also loved that check-in is at 2:00 (instead of the increasingly common 4:00!), and the electronic check-in was incredibly easy - no need to meet anyone, just use the provided code to access your cabin. They've also put a lot of thought into the property. There's a really nice common area with chairs, a fire pit, and games, and the cabins have TV and Wi-Fi. The only downside was the cooling unit in our cabin (unit #7). It worked great when we first arrived on a very warm day, but later started making a terrible squealing noise and stopped cooling properly, so we had to turn it off. The cabin got pretty warm, and unfortunately only one of the windows had a screen, so opening the others would have meant inviting all the local bugs in to spend the night with us. Other than that, we really liked Miners Camp and thought it was a charming, thoughtfully put-together little place. We'd definitely stay again - hopefully with a happy cooling unit next time!

After picking our date and making our phone call to book and going over everything Brian sent us a contract with a price we never agreed upon. I had to beg to even get a contract drawn up because Brain kept calling trying to book another party on our date and move us. I had asked for a contract since we picked our date in August and barely got one first week November. Brain just wanted us to lay down a down payment without anything on paper originally and I begged and begged for something written on paper. Weeks later he sends an email and the price is 5K higher than our agreed upon. I had tried to text multiple times about the contract not being what we agreed upon and had been ignored for two weeks. I had even contacted Amanda (the grounds supervisor) trying to get this fixed after being ignored by Brian but per her Brian is the only one who has control over any booking and any financial portion. I even reached out by email to Bran and was ignored with no response there as well. Trying to book this venue has been such a negative experience and sadly I would never recommend this location to any one for ANY event. Over the phone Brain told us we are 'family' and would treat us like so but he has treated us so poorly. We had been working for almost two months trying to book this venue. It truly is a shame as this would be a meaningful location for me since I was raised in these mountains and grew up riding horses through those canyons. It is disheartening the way they run their business and how they treat people. My fiancé and I both work in public service during the pandemic (he a firefight and I'm an ICU nurse) and this how we've been treated by this business. We are taking our hard earned money and business elsewhere and I would recommend ANYONE looking at this venue to do so as well.

After checking out the South Fork rapids we then went over to North Beach and floated around while we watched all the rafters go by. The hosts, Troy and Janna, were very accommodating and also very friendly. We booked site 5 online and when we got there we asked them if we picked a good site. They said yes, but that site 6 would be better for this weekend because we wouldn't have anyone directly next to us so they switched us to 6. All the sites are spacious with shade and pretty level. (I will add that they did lay some gravel at each site but the sites are all dirt for the most part so it does get dusty. We travel with Astro turf mats so we laid those down and it did a good job mitigating the dust.) Troy and Janna have owned the park for a couple of years now and have put so much work in to it to making it a nice RV Park where people will want to be returning guests. They have an awesome bar area where they serve cold beer and wine. On Friday nights they grill burgers and on Saturdays they make pizzas. So if you don't want to cook, they'll cook for you! They've built a stage in the hang out area and every Saturday night they have live music!! The band last night was great. We hung out at the bar for a few drinks. Met some other campsite guests who were all friendly to chat with, and then we went and sat in front of the stage and enjoyed the music. They've got some picnic tables in front of the stage but we just brought our own chairs. They've also got a pool table, bocci ball, darts and other fun games to enjoy. This was our first time visiting this campsite and we'll definitely be returning. Thanks Troy and Janna for making our first visit a fun and memorable one. We'll be back soon to drink your cold beer and enjoy some live music!
