I get a monthly Brazilian and to say it's less painful than waxing...well you should trust me because I'm a natural redhead with fair/sensitive skin! I recently went in and had my first Brazilian done by Clarissa. First off, the establishment is super clean which I love! You walk in and are greeted by a friendly receptionist who then leads you to a back waiting room that is stocked with all your waiting needs. I was definitely nervous but she made the whole experience as comfortable as it could possibly be. I had previously read about all the benefits of sugaring vs waxing and I can't wait to see my long term results. Clarissa was quick and didn't have to go over areas multiple times which was amazing! I used to love this place. I realized soon how terrible their customer service is. They are so extremely rude. We wanted to do a walk in, and it was completely empty in there and they closed 45 minutes after we went in to ask for a spray tan. They were rude and turned us away. We drove 30 miles just to find out that they couldn't even close a couple minutes. A true business would take all customers and close a few minutes later. We won't be coming back for a while. I just recently switched from 2 stars to 5 stars. The owner is so sweet. She took care of this issue and I just went to the Santa Monica location. The people at that location were amazing! I still wouldn't go back to the Newport one, but definitely Santa Monica. They are very good at their job and make this experience of sugaring, painless! read more

I love this place! The method and styling they use for spray tanning it amazing. I love the way it looks every time. I get lots of compliments from family and friends that the tan looks so glowing and natural! They offer hair ties, shoes, water and coffee! This place is very welcoming and everyone is very easy to get along with! Also! There is a nail salon, a juice shop, and a massage place right next door so you can do a full spa day! Yes the staff is fairly friendly, but I do not think this justifies my experience. I felt I was expected to understand how the process of a spray tan works, even though it was my first time, and the lady helping me did not care to explain anything. No one told me before getting tanned I should be home by 1.5 hours to rinse off, or risk getting "very dark" when I wasn't planning to go home after b/c I had a class, so I had to skip it. People make mistakes, and I understand people are busy/tired so don't explain things at times. I was able to move on, but I checked my email (expecting the receipt), however it was an erroneous email stating I didn't show up for my appointment, when I clearly did. I called to ask about it and they apologized, and said they would immediately email me my receipt. I also asked to double-check that my 2nd spray tan appointment, which was made the day before my wedding, however she said it was NOT made. I was so upset that they have made mistake after mistake. But because the lady on the phone was apologetic I was willing to still come for my 2nd appointment. However, she failed to keep her promise that she would IMMEDIATELY email me my receipt, confirmation of appointment and manager's contact. I still have not received an email. This type of service is not acceptable, I will not ever bother coming back. read more

Honestly, I feel slightly weird giving one star to this business due to the fact that they do not exist but unfortunately to write this review, I must give a 'rating'. I, along with a few other yelpers(see 'not recommended reviews') had gone into Sugared only to be greeted by Bronzed. I was informed by the receptionist/tanner/girl who clearly didn't know to lie about the fact that 'Sugared' doesn't exist yet, that they do not do sugaring here. I must have looked puzzled because the girl quickly said, 'but we might be soon!' Oh, great. 'Might be soon!' Maybe all of these reviews are based on the possibility of this non-existent business being great?! I left still quite confused and irritated at the fact that this 'great business' with so many 5 star reviews does not even EXIST. The reviews on here are clearly fraudulent as not only are they mostly out of state people but they have also reviewed all of the other Bronzed locations. I cannot believe a business would stoop so low as to have fake reviews written for them or perhaps, even by the business themselves. Let's keep Orange County clean of dishonest business' such as 'Sugared'! Do yourself a favor and visit ANY of the other tanning/sugaring places in Newport Beach. I'm completely appalled.
