As a former client with very little experience in skincare, I was convinced to purchase a $700 package that included four facials and skincare creams that I was told could be refilled. At the time, I didn't know any better, so I expected professional treatments that would noticeably brighten my skin, improve firmness, and address imperfections--especially considering the price. Unfortunately, that wasn't my experience. The treatment rooms were extremely small, and the facials themselves were very underwhelming. The two aestheticians who performed my treatments seemed to put in very little effort. Each facial consisted of a basic cleanse or scrub, some steam, and a mask--nothing that felt different from something I could do at home. To make matters worse, during my final appointment I asked about refilling the creams that were included in my package. I was told that the refill period had already expired, even though only a few months had passed. That was never clearly explained when I purchased the package. Overall, I felt misled and taken advantage of. When I told my current aesthetician about the experience, she initially thought I had to be exaggerating because the package and services sounded so unreasonable. They offer a deal on a 45 min facial and then offer you a facial package. None of the facials were like the original. They'll put a red light mask on you for 30 min and call it a facial. Then I scheduled a microdermabrasion. When she was doing it, I felt zero exfoliation, only suction. I specifically asked "Is there a crystal in this machine? I don't feel anything." And she said yes it was a diamond head microdermabrasion, machine. When she left I took a photo and asked Chat CPT what it was. It was a simple suction machine. Very dishonest people and a low quality establishment. I totally regret purchasing the package. Complete waste of money. I saw ads on IG that offered an LED facial at a discounted price. I was looking for some self care so this targeted me at the right time! After checking Yelp, which the salon was not listed on, and Google reviews, I found positive comments that brought me to the salon. It's located on balboa island so parking can be an adventure on its own. Once parked, the salon is easy to find. The entrance was open and bright. The receptionist brought me to a seating area where I filled out a welcome questionnaire about myself. The esthetician got me right away. The room itself was not the most lavish, but it was clean and comfortable nonetheless. As far as services, there was a BOGO promo for add-ons. I spoke with the esthetician to figure out which ones I could benefit from. I ended up getting the microderm abrasion and collagen booster. She worked them into the facial seamlessly and I was still out of there in about an hour. She was nice and professional. Upon check out, another woman walked me through the products that were used on my face and asked if i wanted to purchase any, at a discount of course. I said no and that was that. I appreciated that she wasn't pushy. Then she offered me a subsequent treatment session at a discounted price too - that one I said yes to. All in all, good experience.
