I unfortunately had a terrible experience, or lack of experience, with Sugared. I really enjoyed my first session with Bella who did an amazing job on my brows and facial. I was texted a few times to move that appointment around which was annoying as I work full time however I worked with their schedule and made it work. I then booked another appointment for my pre-wedding brows and mentioned a few times how this was my wedding appointment. I initially booked the appointment on a Friday. I got another text to move that appointment to a different time and agreed. Then we had to move that appointment all together to the day I leave for my wedding as Sugared is only open Tuesday - Friday. When I arrived for this appointment, I get a text saying how my appointment has been canceled and there is no one else available to help me today. My appointment was at 9am and I received this text at 8:51am. Now I understand people get sick, things come up last minute, but just as we as guests have a 24 hour no cancellation policy in place when booking, I would hope to hold the same respect from the business to not cancel on me 9 minutes before my appointment when there is no one else available to even take me that day. I was offered $10 off my next service, however, I will not be returning. Thank goodness for Kait for sending me recommendations immediately for other spas and business owners that I could reach out to. I appreciated her help! I respect others time but did not feel as if mine was respected here. read more

As a guy who didn't know any better, I always thought that facials and skin care were for girls.  And although I have always had trouble with razor burn and in-grown hairs, I pretty much ignored all the skin care tips my wife tried to give me.  After hearing her rave about Hawley long enough, my wife set up a consultation for me to meet Hawley and for her to try and diagnose my issues.  Hawley had some tips for me and discussed her husband's skin care with me extensively because he and I have many similar issues. I finally started going to Sugared for regular facials and using most of the products recommended by Hawley (mostly Eminence).  I can say that my skin is much improved, I know much more about my skin now, and I have a much easier time with shaving and razor burn.  My issues aren't totally gone, but I had seen multiple dermatologists and Hawley did a better job with me than any of them.  Kinda funny that I never thought I would be someone that gets facials and now I get one every 6 - 8 weeks.  I can't see myself going without that anymore..... I must also give Hawley a great review for her sugaring services.  I decided I would try sugaring for hair removal for the first time before Burning Man because Hawley told me I would experience the "cleanest time ever" using the bathroom.  So, I had her do the full male bikini sugaring as well as my neck and shoulders.  Hawley was definitely right about the Burning Man bathroom experience!  And, I have kept up with the sugaring ever since.  I really like how clean it makes everything.  Hawley is a complete pro at trying to minimize the sugaring pain and she is a complete professional about sugaring a guy down there. 10 out of 10 for Hawley and the rest of the Sugared Staff! read more

Sugared offers practically every service one can ask for, from sugaring to facials, to jewelry & creams. I was so excited to try sugaring brow shaping, brow tint, and lash lift/tint for the first time ever with Stephanie and I was blown away by the results and how comfortable my whole experience was. Earlier this summer I wasn't able to get in with my normal waxing technician before coming home to South Lake to visit my family. When asking a (local) friend where I should go in town she told me about Sugared. I had never heard of the technique, but gave it a try. Loved sugaring, the place and the people - I've been back three times - twice for sugaring and once for a facial (my first ever!). Here are the reasons why YOU should go! - Sugaring is less painful (it really is), less irritating (I have super sensitive skin), and way quicker - They have online booking (yes, please!) - The salon is clean and super cute - The people are amazing. First of all the environment itself is relaxing the minute you enter the lobby--pristine and eye appealing decorations complement the sounds and scents all with a "green" focus. In April I treated myself to eyebrow microblading and Hawley did such an incredible job, I highly recommend going to her if it's something you're considering! When moving to Lake Tahoe after living in areas like New York and San Francisco, I was worried I wouldn't be able to find the same caliber of services in our small mountain town. Boy was I wrong! I got in with Sugared as soon as I moved and noticed my skin was struggling to adjust to the dry climate. I got scheduled with Bella and have learned so much from her about how to care for my skin. I started going in for facials every 3 months with the change of each season per Bella's suggestion and my skin has been looking great.
