Since then I have struggled to find a good dentist office that is as friendly, fast, and clean as Sugarfree Dental, and doesn't try to upsell me on unnecessary products and services everytime I get a cleaning. Today I tried another office and was disappointed again. I'm pretty sure I will start paying more for my insurance so I can come back here even through they're out of network for me now. I cannot overstate nearly enough how much I have hated my visits to the dentists in the past due to traumatic experiences with impersonal dentists, aggressive teeth cleaning interventions, and a lack of education regarding why I was recommended certain procedures to be performed on me only to be met with an expensive uncovered cost that came out of my own pocket. For years, I was so scarred by the painful and frustrating experience with my previous dentists that I willingly vowed to never return to see another dentist again. I was so jaded to the idea of returning back to see a dentist again until my wife recommended to me to see Dr. Yang and Jasmine! As a patient of over 5 years now, I really can't say enough good things about this practice. In addition to excellent cleanings and preventative care, Dr. Yang helped me through a minor dental emergency a couple months ago and I am so grateful for his guidance. I was once again impressed with his honesty and integrity - he suggested a course of action that was conservative and in my best interest (rather than suggesting a route that would have made more money for his practice, which I think, sadly, a lot of other dentists would have done). Can't believe I've been in LA so long that I've been to the dentist twice. Yelp helped me find Sugarfree but the kind and caring folks at Sugarfree have kept me coming back. I've had visits both Pre and Intra COVID and in both cases they were attentive and friendly. My check ups/cleanings went smoothly and Sugarfree really does try to make everything comfortable. The large screen TVs with Netflix definitely helps pass the time. My latest check-up was during COVID and Dr. Yang explained to me all the additional precautions they were taking-including how the cleaning would be different this time around because it was all hand tools to prevent droplets. Despite my apprehension at that it was painless, quick and honestly I couldn't really tell the difference at all. I wouldn't say I look forward to going to the dentist but with Sugarfree it doesn't make me dread it. read more

I've been here three times and absolutely love it! Anyways, I was looking up local Dentist places and saw that Sugarfree got some great reviews and it was also down the street from where I lived so I decided what the heck and just made an appointment for Cleaning and also whitening. Liz called to follow up on the appointment and also my insurance and everything was a total breeze. The day of the appointment I met Dr. Yang he assessed my xrays and told me about my cavities and that I should come back for a deep cleaning. He recommended that I do it together and make two appointments for both sides. Which makes sense and I did that. Stacy took care of my regular cleaning and she was really sweet and I enjoyed chatting with her and also the entire Sugarfree Dental Team. The last two times I came back Dr. Yang took care of me and the deep cleaning/Cavity fills. Each appointment took about 1 hr and a half, luckily I didn't work those days because my mouth was numb for most of the days. The team is really helpful when it comes to checking to see how you're doing during the process of being at the dentist. I made an appointment for February for a possible crown. After reading a few reviews, I decided to give Dr. Yang at Sugarfree Dental a try and I'm so glad I did. The office is very clean and pleasant and the staff is really top notch -- VERY friendly and helpful. You could not ask for better service!! Dr. Yang is incredibly nice, thorough, and gentle. And, unlike a lot of dentists I've visited in the past, he didn't try to sell me on a bunch of procedures I did not need. I went into Sugarfree Dental to get a cleaning and cavity check so I can start Invisalign and I was immediately impressed with the cleanliness of the facility and friendliness of the staff. Parking is great and I know this sounds weird but their bathroom was also clean and well kept. Bathrooms say a lot about an organization (no joke)! Dr. Yang and his assistants chair side manners were impeccable. They consistently asked about my comfort level and were so professional. Hands down, BEST and most THOROUGH & pain free hygiene and dental care I've received EVER!!!! Most dentists rush through cleanings but I didn't feel at all rushed or that he did a remedial work. This review is for a very honest consultation. Dr. Yang was highly recommended by my neighbor whose whole household goes to him. I recently had a bad bonding job, Dr. Yang confirmed the composite was chipping away. However, instead of of trying to bill me for complicated restoration he said that I needed to see an endo-specialist. I asked if I could pay out-of-pocket for an additional cleaning since my last cleaning wasn't satisfactory either and he said the specialist would probably prefer everything is done at his/her office. I wish I had discovered Sugarfree Dental sooner, before I let money driven dentists work on me. Hopefully, I can come here after my complicated issue is resolved. Sugarfree Dental was so great! I came in to see if I can get my wisdom teeth removed, and Dr. Yang made sure that I was assessed thoroughly and that I understood everything about my x-rays. I was also greeted immediately as soon as I entered the door by Liz and Jasmine, who were both so great throughout the procedure as well. The kindness of the staff made me feel so comfortable and definitely helped calm my nerves. Dr. Yang made sure that I didn't feel any pain during the extraction and also talked me through the entire process, which I believe is so much better than just staring at the ceiling wondering what they're doing to you. Jasmine and Liz never took the smiles off their faces. All the employees at Sugarfree spent a good amount of time getting to know their patients while sharing some about them as well. As far as scheduling, they're very straightforward and will send you a lot of appointment reminders, which I thought was helpful. When there was a schedule conflict or an available spot that opened up before my appointment, Liz happily texted me about it to see if I wanted to move to the earlier appointment. This review is long overdue but I needed to share how amazing of an experience I had at Sugarfree. I moved from out of state about a year ago and when excruciating pains in my molars started sprouting, I was desperate to find a great dentist in a hurry. I was referred to Dr. Yang from an endodontist who performed my root canal retreatment. From the minute I walked into Sugarfree and was greeted so warmly by Wendy and the front office staff, I could tell they would take care of me. Dr. Yang is very skilled and has a great bedside manner. He explains everything in depth. He's incredibly honest and does not try to upsell or take advantage of you in any way. I came to Dr. Yang after a Santa Monica dentist quoted me thousands of dollars worth of treatment (even with my great dental insurance through my company). Dr. Yang performed the same high quality treatment for a fraction of the cost. Wendy broke down every single dollar for me and gave me options. I drive over an hour to see them and won't go anywhere else! PS: During one visit, Dr. Yang was backed up on patients so I waited in the chair for 10-15 minutes. A bit of a wait has always been the norm with other doctors but as I was leaving, Dr. Yang felt so sorry that he gave me a Starbucks giftcard -- who does that?! So kind.
