Now living out in this area, my previous waxing boutique place is no longer ideal, but I saw other reviews for this place, and decided to give it a go. Based on reviews I decided to book with Grace; best decision ever. She has a calming & humble spirit about her that puts you at ease in such an awkward & vulnerable position. She was able to hold casual chat during the process, which takes your mind off the pain. She was very thorough, the process went by quickly, and yet I didn't feel rushed. I feel bad doing this because the girl was nice but I went to get a wax for the first time I followed the instructions of how long the hair has to be I understand sometimes short hair may stay for a brazilian but she left so much long hair i cant even pluck it out because it is still just a lot to do that very dissapointed on this but I do gotta say she was at least kind read more

I always have a great experience at this location! Staff is always polite and professional and they make sure to give a courtesy call and text reminding you of your appointment. Since COVID, they've upped their sanitation and masks policies, which makes me happy because I was already super impressed with the sanitation and cleanliness. Sherrell is the best person I've had doing my waxes EVER! She's gentle (if you can be gentle when giving a wax), yet quick. She's knowledgeable about the products provided and she always has me laughing during my wax (which helps because it hurts, ya know?!) I prefer Waxing the City over other establishments. The wax they use is better and less harsh on my skin. I always get in and out in a reasonable time, and the customer service from the moment I walk in, to the minute I walk out, is always impeccable. This people will do anything to try to charge you for canceling appointments or not showing up.. first time ever requesting a wax service.. I called in to ask if appointment was needed, she said they prefer appointments. long story short she told me I could cancel one hour before as I wasn't sure if I will have to go to work or not on the day of the appointmen. when I called to cancel the appointment she went straight to tell me she will have to charge on the card.( good luck with that.. )plenty of other places to go around the area and to choose from. I absolutely love this location!!!! Everyone is so nice here. From the receptionist to Sharell, Grace and the new hire Jessica! They are all so nice and sweet! Full service waxing studio for men, women and teens!They hold conversations with you will you're being serviced and the time actually flies. We're always in there laughing and telling stories. The girls make you feel right at home. They take their time with you and make sure they snatch every nook and cranny! Lol You will definitely leave as smooth as a babies bottom. *wink! It was alright. I usually go their other locations but decided to try this one today. Super nice and had great convo with the cerologist, but some hair was not pulled even though it was blatantly there (not short or a small stubble). In another service, the reason I get a specific service is bc it bothers me and when I got home, I realized the hair removed was very superficial and that the removal didn't encompass the entire area that's listed in the description/normally done the other locations. While the price is okay, it's still disappointing to have paid for a service that wasn't thoroughly done and now left with anticipated uneven hair growth. read more

So this was my first trip to Waxing In The City and i'll definitely be back. My husband and i made the pact that it was all or nothing and we had to go together if anything. All i have to say is, if you want to hit a new level of your relationship, go together! We were greeted by Lauren at the front desk and we got to talking I told her i was still new to houston and she gave me a bunch of recommendations on hair and nail salons (a girls gotta take care of herself). She was extremely friendly and helped calm my nerves to to semi freaking out of what was about to happen. She recommended having out services done by LaTwon. LaTwon was a dream and the only reason that I 1) made it through and 2) didn't have a heart attack. she was super light hearted and made both my husband and i die of laughter! she literally makes it that the client almost forgets that they are getting waxed. She had normal conversations and cracked so many jokes, which for me was great! I could keep going on about the staff here, but y'all need to get meet them for yourself - they are the best! Heck even Grace (another tech) was having a conversation with us after our service (super sweet too). Onto the facilities, the lobby was clean and tidy. all of the products were properly placed and super organized. When we went back into the waxing room (i think that's what it's be called) it was super clean! LaTwon kept her station super clean and sanitary! Also, nothing was reused, so you know there's not even a chance of any type of contamination, issues, etc. All in all, i will definitely go back for any waxing need! I've been getting waxed for years and when I recently moved back to Houston, I decided let me try EWC, worst decision ever! A friend recommended Waxing the city (the memorial location) to me, but I did my own research and saw so many good reviews for Ami, so I set my appointment. From the moment I walked in the customer service was great and I barely had a waiting time, just to fill first timer paper work. When I got in the room, it was clean & Ami explained their process to me. This was probably the least painful wax I've had in my life. Like even the lips of your woman area, I barely felt a thing. I had some hyperpigmentation and ingrowns from my experience at European and Ami gave me techniques to get myself back cute lol. Highly recommend Ami!! I have honestly never had a bad experience with WTC, something about their model is flawless. Understandably one can feel very fearful for a Brazillian experience, especially the first one after delivering a baby! But Grace made me feel comfortable. We were talking about our toddlers and before I knew it... she was done. And she did an excellent job, I was incredibly pleased with the result! I booked my next appointment on the spot. I have yet to have a bad experience with the cerologists at WTC. Now I know I'm covered at the Bellaire AND Sugarland location! The staff was amazingly helpful, I had to call before the shop was even open because I had gotten lost before my appointment, they were kind and had wonderful phone presence. A friendly greeting by the receptionist as I walked in, and a relaxed atmosphere made going to get waxed easy. However, that's not even the best part. Ami, who is highly skilled, and it's very obvious, made my wax the least painful I've ever had. Ami was great. Went in for a Brazilian wax as a new customer. I really liked the atmosphere upon entry. I checked in at the front desk for my appointment. I was greeted in a friendly manner then welcomed by the esthetician, Ami. Ami is so kind and knowledgeable. She explained the process and recommended some products for my use. I added a brow wax to my services. She patiently and thoroughly set me at ease throughout the process. The conversation and laughter minimized the slight pain. I am VERY disappointed in this establishment. My appointment was set for today at 5:15pm. After getting thru traffic I arrived around 5:22pm. The two workers went into a room to discuss when I got there and then came out and told me it was 5:24 at that time and that I could not be seen and would have to rebook. I could see if they were busy but there was NO ONE else in the place. I am extremely disappointed and will be cancelling my membership with this location. I for sure miss Sherrell, as I have never been treated like this before. I have never seen the two girls there were running the place today but it was not handles professionally at all. read more

Lauren, my best friend, the Lead Studio Coordinator at Waxing the City in Sugarland knows how nervous I am to get my eyebrows waxed at new places, but she reassured me that I would be in good hands with, LaTwon. LaTwon, she definitely came out and proved her point and she did such a fantastic / amazing job on my brows.
