Sugarloaf made a 3-layer 8-inch birthday cake for my daughter. It was red velvet with cream cheese frosting on the inside and a buttercream on the outside so that she could make it just the right color. The wording is a quote from her favorite book. And yes, those are dragon wings made out of fondant! They were so accommodating and were happy to take our order. The bakery is in a quaint little shop. Don't miss this place! Mighty, given the small size of this bakery. We grabbed chocolate croissants, a blueberry croissant, a ham n cheese croissant, a few cinnamon rolls, and some cannolis. Everything was freshly made and was delicious. I started a conversation with the guy at the counter, asking him about his sourdough. He said his starter dough was 55 years old! That's bananas and probably why this place is so tasty! We may have to drop by on our way home and grab some goodies to take with us. Cheesecakes had zero flavor, the carrot cake was days old and stale with frosting that had the texture of solidified crisco...the butterscotch pie was better, as was the apple turnover. 3 stars for the food, deducting a star for both the staff and customers not wearing masks. No enforcement, no signage even suggesting it. Not sure what la-la land these folks are living where they don't think they should be protecting people, and the process to get stuff boxed is lengthy enough that standing in a small space with 3 unmasked people made me uncomfortable. My husband had been craving coconut cream pie and saw this bakery as were were driving to our boat. We were in there around 8:30 on a Saturday morning. The smell as soon as we walked in was YUM! There were a couple of folks ahead of us and they ordered several items , which kept the counter girl busy . She was apologetic for the wait, but it was of no inconvenience to us. The bakery case had not yet been filled but as we waited, the baker trickled in with trays full of delicious looking danishes and desserts. We were thrilled to see that there was indeed a coconut cream , so we ordered a piece along with a cinnamon roll, pecan tart and pepperoni roll croissant. I love that they use basically the same flaky croissant as their basis for the all of the danish and pastry. It is well textured and has the right amount of butter and ingredients. The cheesecakes looked amazing, although we did not purchase . The only reason that I did not give 5 stars is that the place needs a little update to include some more attractive signage and bakery cases are much more attractive when completely filled up with yummies. We will return on our next trip to the area, for sure! read more

I always Yelp "desserts" when I'm in a new city, and that's how I found this gem. It's a tiny bakery that's full of flavor. Walking in, it smelled so good! It was hard to decide what to get. We finally chose the lemon blueberry cheesecake and a cinnamon roll. I gave the five stars on this review for the cinnamon roll. Yum yum! Flakey dough, perfect amount of cinnamon, and a thin glaze of icing. You can get it warmed but we didn't because we thought we'd save it for later ... but it didn't make it out of the parking lot. It tasted great even room temperature. I'd definitely go back for the cinnamon rolls and try a few other items. read more

A cute little place that has very very nice staff. I got a cream cheese danish and it was pretty good. Just a note about the danish - it has an orange glaze on it. I'm not much of an orange glaze person but it was fairly mild and I think it gave the danish a nice finish. I also got a piece of the German chocolate cheesecake and it was fairly dense so I couldn't finish it in one sitting. It wasn't the best cheesecake that I've had but it was decent. They did have a variety of cheesecakes in the display and I think if I go back, I'll try the carrot cake because I've seen some good reviews about it. read more

When the owner saw my utter disappointment , he offered me an individual size lemon cheesecake he had just made ( still warm) and then proceeded to make a blueberry sauce to top it off! Ok, so based on the Yelp reviews I drove to this place while my family was still sleeping to pick up some pastries. It was easy to find, but what I noticed when I first walked was the pastries were just sitting out uncovered. There were 2 tables that are sitting right beside where these pastries are sitting out at, and this particular morning a patron was coughing and blowing her nose right beside said set of pastries I opted to try something in a different location needless to say. We tried a cinnamon roll which was actually pretty tasty and a cream cheese croissant. The cream cheese croissant tasted just like it had a lemon glaze on it, so beware of that. Loved everything about this shop. We patroned during COVID19. The selection while small was DELICIOUS. We were immediately welcomed and the gentleman helping us showed us several different offerings and took time to explain what was offered that day. We ended up buying a tropical croissant (let me tell you the lamination was on point! it was filled with various tropical fruits and glazed outside. sweet, crispy layers with a tender inside). This was by far my favorite item. We also purchased a slice of chocolate mousse cake. It was surprisingly light and lovely. We got a slice of key lime pie which was tart and delicious. We also purchased multiple items, including the PHENOMENAL cinnamon rolls, turnovers, and eclairs. Also, if he has brownies and chocolate chip cookies for sale, GRAB A FEW!! There was one cinnamon roll, and it honestly wasn't that great. The eclairs were solid, and the cookie was good. The cakes and pies looked ridiculously good. Today we had the Irish Creme Cake, a Strawberry Cupcake, and a Chocolate Eclair. I tasted them all, and they were great. He also had scones, croissants, carrot cake, coconut cake - just a yummy selection. A small (spotless!) seating area to enjoy your treat - he had coffee, tea, hot chocolate to go with. He had the most beautiful, tall, perfectly iced, cake at the counter. He generously cut me a piece to go. Immediately you could see the real ingredients, whole raisins, real pieces of carrot..... it actually looked like a carrot cake, not a spice cake, as most others do. And the taste did not disappoint. Both of us said "THE BEST CARROT CAKE I'VE EVER HAD". I haven't tried any of Will's other creations, but I'm thinking they are over the moon sensational too. Oh my goodness. This place has the best cupcakes I've ever eaten. The cake itself is substantial - like Texas muffin sized - but the icing...there is almost no words. It was a decadent icing, almost whipped in consistency, and had a cream cheese tang to it. It paired beautifully with the thick cake. The owner/baker was very attentive and his wife was equally nice. If I lived closer I'd make this place my regular stop for sweet treats. Maybe it's good I'm not local though, the temptation to constantly indulge would be my downfall.
