Stopped by on a Wednesday evening while vacationing at the Hyatt Chesapeake. I was pleasantly surprised by the weight and seasoning of the crabs, and the Chesapeake Chicken was phenomenal. Best part of the experience was the wonderful service provided by our Waitress Allison. My party included 4 preteens who were starving after a day trip to Ocean City. My wife and I have been to the restaurant several times over the years. Today we were celebrating my birthday and as a treat I wanted to take my family as a treat. The wait staff are great, which is why I gave 2 stars. There were barely anyone in the place and it took at least 30-40 minutes to get our meal. The preliminary soups and salads were fine, but the wait for the entrees was long. Now although the food was okay they definitely weren't dinner portions. My "stuffed jumbo shrimp " was 3 semi large shrimp surrounding crab imperial. Now for almost $30 I would expect a lot more. I am just not going to go back. I've been to this restaurant several times, usually for special occasions. The restaurant has a nice location with many tables having great water views. The service is always very good. There is a great menu and there's always a good selection of fresh seafood. We've always enjoyed dining here and would recommend giving it a try. I really enjoy the crab here. read more

We called in advance and asked them how much all there can eat crabs were and told us $45 so we drove there that afternoon and when we got there they were only selling by the Dozen and it ended up costing us for two dozen crabs $170 . They decided to throw in a couple of sides and you can buy a bushel of crabs for $170 therefore this was a complete bait and switch on their part and the crabs were good but I feel that we were definitely taking advantage of because we were told that all you could eat crabs were $45 a person . It was my daughter's birthday and so I felt that I had to do it because I did not want to disappoint everyone . I think that they should be ashamed of themselves for telling someone that all their eat crabs would be $45 and when you get there you buy them by the Dozen they also told us they were running out of crabs so that's why we got two dozen and then later on we saw them bringing out lots of crabs for other people . I have lived in this area for over 20 years and I'm sure that I'm going to tell everyone that I know in my Hundred contacts but what they did and taking advantage of people unbelievable to pay $170 for 24 crabs . read more

This used to be our go to spot when visiting Hurlock. This last visit changed that. We were assigned a waitress with a surly attitude and a set of silverware with a dead fly on it. No apology or statement when asked for a replacement. This is the same attitude when we pointed out tomatoes with mold on them in our salad. This should have been noticed when the salad was made or brought out. It took a while to point this out to the waitress as she was busy checking her Facebook on her phone at the waitress station. She never did check on how things were going except when bringing the next course. The food was good and portions were alright, but with the attitude and lack of quality control I fear we might have to find another place to gather. read more

We have been here several times on Friday nights for the buffett, it never disappoints! The seafood imperial, fried oysters, soft crabs, steamed shrimp, and prime rib are great. Entree was good, lives up to the reputation. Appetizers, salad, bread, sides etc... is only a half step above what you'd find at a dinner or cafeteria. Small suggestion, considering hiring a sous who'd specifically oversee your non entree food items. I mean, I'm an amateur and can tell you a few croutons and a small handful of shredded cheese would dress up your pile of iceberg salad nicely. Seriously though, don't go hungry - portions are extremely small for the prices. Food comes very very VEEEEERRRRRY slowly. Had 630 reservations, seated around 635.... didn't get food until nearly 800. Service was less than stellar, again, considering the price. Arguably our best local restaurant experience while on a recent vacation. The locale of the restaurant right on the water and in a marina was very cool and picturesque and the food and service lived up to the hype! I was excited to have the blue crabs and the restaurant was kind enough to have someone come over and explain step by step how to open, clean, and eat them! All other meals were equally enjoyed - crab cakes, NY strip steak, and pecan crusted salmon were all excellent. Nice selection of wine and beer and the service was very good and prices were very reasonable considering the quality of the food. This is one place I would prioritize if you are in the area. I went on the Dorothy/Megan Dinner boat.. the food was xtra cold and reminded me of of having Dinner at Dennys. It was the Fourth of July and the boat was turned in a direction that everyone had to go to the front of the boat to see the fireworks. It was the best show I never saw. Had lunch today on a warm February day. Easy parking. Instant greeting by the hostess. Perfectly attentive waitstaff. And, the food was great! Raw oysters were perfectly sized and had super clean shells. Had a fried oyster sandwich that was just right. Fried shrimp weren't big, but there were too many to finish. Took my husband to Suicide Bridge Restaurant for his birthday on Saturday, worst food ever!, We had never been there, wasted $385.00!, plus a $20.00 tip, we ordered up a lot of things to try the menu, my sister and her husband joined us. 12 Large crabs ($80) the first 5 on top were fine, underneath the crabs were dry and dark as if they were overcooked, or old and re-warmed, Suicide Sampler ($28) everything was small and overcooked, salty crab balls that lacked crabmeat, Clam Strips ($14.00) they were fine/normal, Suicide Oysters ($34) overcooked/rubbery, Scallops w/bacon ($16) overcooked, Crab Dip ($16) was very good, Calamari ($15) was fine, Soft Shell Crabs entree ($96), we ordered 3 of those, the size of the crabs look illegal, only 2 fingers wide, served 3 on bread, but they were so greasy you could not eat them, the bread had old oil on it, we dabbed them with paper towels, they were still very soggy with oil, no crunch at all, Onion rings- very soggy with old oil, no crunch at all, Bar-B-Que Shrimp entree ($20.00) looked like 12 popcorn shrimp with barBque sauce thrown on them, Kools Delux Crab cake sandwich ($34) - I didn't see that, my sister took that home to my uncle, I hope it was ok, needless to say, We will NOT return to this place, the atmosphere was fine, the service was okay, The desperately need Gordon Ramsey to come through there to Yell and Curse them straight, re-vamp the menu, it could be a great little spot, don't know who cooks there, but they need to go back to the drawing board !!!, we did not get any warm rolls while we were waiting for our meal or appetizers, Connie B. - Disappointed !!!! read more

If you want some local seafood it's a good choice. We started with spicy steamed shrimp, they were nice and hot with a good amount of Old Bay just the way I like it. Crab cake sandwich was full of crab meat, very little filler. Personally I like a more spice in my crab cake but it was very good. Prices are reasonable for seafood and drinks. We tried their signature Suicide Slinger, a Long Island ice tea but sweeter. I recommend it if you like sweet drinks. Service was very good, food came out fast and server was efficient. This restaurant is really good, they are more fine dining but the hospitality is great from the staff and the portions are very large so be ready to take food home. Everything is pretty much served with some really soft rolls with butter & a salad of your choosing. Our first visit was terrific, however, our second was an utter disaster and so much so that this is my first review in Yelp it was so bad. Started with our server getting our order wrong for one of our dinners. onion rings were cold and when after 30 minutes brought a new batch that had clearly been microwaved and three whole rings. wow. three rock fish dinners full of bones, and pieces not whole fish. Rice was way over cooked. Had to wait an eternity for the bill and only after I went down to get it was it produced. They did take off 10% for the issues but even so the price was exhorbitant compared to other waterside restaurants in the area. Manager should have come by but not so much. This is not a restaurant you go to for an amazing seafood experience. This is the restaurant where area families having probably been coming for years and years. Most guests I saw were just that, multi-generational families and smaller tables of older folk who remember maybe what it was like in the good old days. The Food: Pedestrian, safe for those who aren't looking for anything with too much flavor or unusual. My husband ordered the Kool's crab cake and though it was all lump, he said it could have benefited from a good dose of Old Bay or S&P. My shrimp were probably frozen. Another in our party got the fish fingers which again was probably frozen. The last dish, the clam strips. Need I repeat? Frozen. I didn't try the appetizer of the seafood potato skins but my husband and our friends enjoyed it. The Decor: Has probably not changed in many, many years but at least they keep the place tidy. There is a "roadside America" giant metal crab just as you walk in the front door that is worth a photo op. The Service: I watched the young hostess work very hard to pull her way too short skirt down while trying to take us to our table. I half expected our server to call us "Hon" every 5 minutes. Though not expecting tuxedoed wait staff, it's just a little too hometown for my tastes. It's 1975 all over again. The building, interior, and menu are in desperate need of a makeover. The restaurant is truly out in the middle of nowhere and is located on the Choptank near its namesake bridge. We arrived early on a Thursday and were greeted by a friendly hostess who asked us rather loudly if we were having crabs. We said no, and she walked us to our table. After being seated, our waiter came over and asked us once again if we going to have crabs. Again, no, we're not having crabs. Frankly, if we were going to have crabs, there are a variety of crab houses a lot closer to the civilized world who do it better. We ordered our drinks which arrived promptly; our appetizer order was taken and we wait patiently. Our waiter brought rolls to our table which were very good. We were also happy to see that the butter was not served in a rock hard state. The rolls were slightly sweet, yeasty, and warm - easily the best part of the meal (as we were about to find out). We ordered the famous crab balls, clams casino, and fried calamari. I'm not sure how the crab balls ever became famous -- infamous would be an easier sell, but famous? Surely not. They are small, filled with "special' grade crab meat, not particularly seasoned well, mushy, and coated with an industrial grade corn-meal jacket. Curiously, they are served with a sleeve of saltine crackers and a small cup of practically tasteless ketchup masquerading as cocktail sauce. Nobody is going to get famous serving these. The Clams Casino was truly awful. They had a funky, old smell reminiscent of a snuggle with your grandmother. No amount of bacon could salvage this dish. I couldn't identify exactly what was off about the dish, but something was peculiar. The Fried Calamari fell right into line with the disappointment of the other appetizers. It was a truly below par offering that neither thrilled nor offended - it was the Katie Couric of appetizers. I intentionally ordered seafood thinking that we would be safer playing to the strengths of the restaurant. I mean seriously, the menu has pictures of fish in it, so stick with the seafood right? They got the lobster special (a 1.5 lb steamed lobster) exactly right. It was not overcooked, and it was indeed fresh. If it weren't for the haul to Hurlock, I would consider going back for the Thursday lobster special for $21.95. My wife got the crab cakes, I chose the surf and turf consisting of a fliet mignon and crab cake. Unlike the crab balls, the crab cakes were chocked full of jumbo lump meat. They were about four ounces in size, and while not the best crab cakes I have ever had, they were certainly not the worst. They could have been a bit less greasy (too much mayo perhaps?) and bit firmer on the seasoning. The filet mignon was another below par offering served on a piece of rye toast. It was coated in a healthy dose of seasoned salt - the funky flavor I recognized from the Clams Casino. While neither entree was awful, they simply did not rise to the $28.95 price tag. The level of quality and preparation is reminiscent of the 1970s - times have changed but the food has not. The sides were predictably uninspiring. My wife made the mistake of ordering the sweet potato fluff which was nothing more than mashed sweet potatoes with molten marshmallows on top. I had a baked potato and cole slaw which were passable, but were hardly able to assist in justifying the drive or the price. Suicide Bridge follows an all too familiar story of restaurants in rural areas. Its glory days are well behind it and ownership seems to be afraid to make any changes for fear of upsetting the positively ancient clientele whose olfactory and lingual senses have long since abandoned them. It is situated on a lovely piece of land on the waterfront and has a great, if not kitschy story about its namesake bridge, but it is very much trading on its reputation that was established decades ago. There is a severe shortage of good restaurants on the shore and sadly, this is one that can easily be skipped. read more

When you go here, you need to remember that it is a seafood restaurant. The best dishes are the simple ones: Kools Crab Cake, crab imperial, fried shrimp, fried oysters, lobster sauteed, crab soup (cream and Maryland style), crap dip, Prime Rib and fried chicken. I have found when the more complex items don't have the same quality of the other items. This is place that locals go for a nice dinner or to celebrate. I a lot of tourists also frequent the location and are disappointed when its not like the high end restaurants in their home cities. The restaurant has a great view and is accessible by the water. BBQ shrimp are bathed in a bath of bbq sauce... so when presented it looks more like a bowl of soup ( and made the bacon taste uncooked. Spouse had the seafood platter and said all tasted over cooked. Wait staff was overwhelmed and seemed annoyed when asked questions. Waitress constantly put hot food in front of our toddler. We explained that she should not do that and she couldn't have cared less.! Staff at front desk were nice and seated us promptly, however I had to go back and remind them that I needed a high-chair (which was dirty when it arrived). There just aren't a lot of restaurants out by Cambridge. Suicide Bridge however is a favorite of my Grandmother's so we tend to come out to this restaurant whenever we visit. This place gets packed on the weekends! Make sure you call ahead to make reservations, otherwise, you can wait for up to an hour to get seated. Located right on the water, the view from the restaurant is lovely. Ducks hang out by the pier waiting for people to come up with bread to feed them. (Kids love it, but I don't recommend it) Seafood is fresh, and most preparations are very simple. I like to come here for crabs! They do an All-You-Can eat crab feast for $34.95pp. Included: cole slaw, fried chicken, clam strip, corn on the cob. You can up the ante by adding steamed shrimp or snow crab legs at $2.00 increments to to the All you can eat price. read more

We have been going to suicide bridge restaurant for. 5 years now and there quality has just been great until just recently there quality has gone way down hill we ordered 2 calamari orders and we were eating it as an appetizer at home. This calamari tasted like it was made with old oil and it came with so little, we were so disappointed. Another thing to look out for corking your bottle will cost you 25$ this is shows they have lost all there hope for locals to come. They are now going for a quick cash grab. read more

The interior is in dire need of an update, it was bare and boring once you were past the crab sculpture in the entry way. Being able to feed the ducks outside added a fun element, though. Our major complaint was how noisy a large party was. We arrived just as they were finishing, and they stood and chatted loudly (which echoed in the bare dining room) for over 20 minutes. Even after we spoke to a manager, they were not asked to move their loud socializing to another area. The staff actually sat new customers at tables people were still standing around, talking. Enjoyed a great lunch here with some family. I tried the Creamy Crab Bisque, and it was rich and delicious; it even had nice chunks of crab meat. I also had the Roast Beef Panini, which is a great sandwich if you aren't in the mood for their Crab Cake Sandwich. The lunch dining room overlooks the boat docks, which provides an endless change to the scenery! The wait staff was very attentive, and took great care of our table. We hosted our Mom's surprise 60th birthday here and could not have asked for a better experience! Not only were they one of the only restaurants around who would accept such a large reservation of 45 people, they were super accommodating and allowed us to have separate checks, bring our own cake and decorations, and allotted a few servers just for our group. The staff did an amazing job at keeping our large group happy, splitting the checks correctly and managing several different tables all ordering at different times! You all were amazing! The food was fantastic! The Chop Tank Cobb was super fresh with lots of crabmeat and the blue cheese vinaigrette that went with it was to die for. Also, we ordered a lobster/cheese/cream appetizer that I don't even think is actually on the menu and it was absolutely delicious! Thank you so much to the staff. Just had a late lunch/early dinner there today. Got seated right away. Socially distanced seating. Waited a bit for our waiter. Fine. Took our orders. We ordered Seafood Nachos ( just ok ) 2 cups of oyster stew ( delicious) for apps. Salad was very good. Hubby got the delmonico steak with fries and onion rings. Apparently the rings and fries are considered vegetables! I had the single crab cake and a side of fried oysters ( 9.95 extra ). The crab cake was the tiniest thing I ever seen and for 28.00 I was expecting bigger. Taste was good. My sides of stewed tomatoes tasted like they had come from a batch that had burnt. The potato special had a greasy puddle of something on the bottom. Waiter was hard to find to get boxes, bill etc. The kicker was the very depressing conversation at the table next us with a couple of elderly ladies who had just come from a funeral. The wait staff all knew them and one by one everyone came by to discuss their similar stories of people they knew who had recently died. I was so depressed and anxious by time we were done. Sounded like the whole town was dead. Bought our leftovers home. Hopefully they'll taste better with a happier conversation at jome. read more

Went on a Saturday in October. The good: We were seated right away. The atmosphere is good - typical ES seafood house, but in a good way. The wings appetizer we got was good. The overall flavor of our food was good. The not so good: Waitress was preoccupied with personal drama and her phone. We could see the server area from where we were sitting. Was slow to take our order. The food is overpriced by about 10% for the quantity/quality. I got the broiled seafood platter. The flounder was tiny, as flounder often is. There were only 2 shrimp on the platter. Softcrab was small, as they mostly are, and good. The scallops were good. The crabcake tasted good but had too much wet filler. The salad was super basic. The rolls were just some rolls taken out of a Sunbeam bag. Like grocery store rolls you can buy from the bread aisle at Food Lion. Considering the prices, that is not good. Wife got stuffed shrimp - flavor was good but the dish was small. My meal was 32.95 and my wife's was close to that. My son got chicken tenders and fries - standard frozen Sysco fare, but at least that was priced accordingly. The location is beautiful even though the drive from Salisbury was long. I had been wanting to go here for years and was mostly disappointed. You have to fix the rolls and do something more with salads and dressings.
