Went on a Saturday in October. The good: We were seated right away. The atmosphere is good - typical ES seafood house, but in a good way. The wings appetizer we got was good. The overall flavor of our food was good. The not so good: Waitress was preoccupied with personal drama and her phone. We could see the server area from where we were sitting. Was slow to take our order. The food is overpriced by about 10% for the quantity/quality. I got the broiled seafood platter. The flounder was tiny, as flounder often is. There were only 2 shrimp on the platter. Softcrab was small, as they mostly are, and good. The scallops were good. The crabcake tasted good but had too much wet filler. The salad was super basic. The rolls were just some rolls taken out of a Sunbeam bag. Like grocery store rolls you can buy from the bread aisle at Food Lion. Considering the prices, that is not good. Wife got stuffed shrimp - flavor was good but the dish was small. My meal was 32.95 and my wife's was close to that. My son got chicken tenders and fries - standard frozen Sysco fare, but at least that was priced accordingly. The location is beautiful even though the drive from Salisbury was long. I had been wanting to go here for years and was mostly disappointed. You have to fix the rolls and do something more with salads and dressings. My wife and I ate here for our anniversary. They sat us at the upstairs window and we had a great view of the water. The beer was cold and served in a chilled glass. The salads were great with their homemade dressings. The crab cake my wife had was one of the best she has eaten. My Chicken part was very good. With each entree you get a salad and two sides. This was THE WORST dine out experience I ever had. We knew was a prefixed menu for Thanksgiving, but they way we were rushed was intolerable. I ordered a cocktail to have before dinner and a bottle of wine to have with dinner. With in 3 minutes of us being seated, the waiter brought the cocktail, the wine, already opened prior to arriving at the table, and our dinners. The food was maybe luke warm at best. My wife was so upset she barely had anything to eat. I ate what I could, but now we finished eating and just finished my cocktail and we have an entire bottle of wine left. The worst experience from start to finish! The food was disappointing! Filet mignon overcooked, crabcake loaded with shells and no flavor, baked potato exactly one inch x two inches and mushy. The waitress was rude and would not even attempt to correct anything. The rolls we're dry and tasteless, the Seafood Combo Platter was a small appetizer and not fresh seafood. Reserved for a party of 10-12 people, they called us upstairs before tables were set up, then the "assistant manager" kept demanding to know, WELL IS IT 10, or IS IT 12? IS IT 10, or IS IT 12? She then disappears before tables are fully setup and doesn't provide any help to getting us drinks or checking back with us. Our waitress Mandy was overtly racist, and treated every one of us with disdain. Overly dramatic eye-rolling, tapping pen on her order book, loudly sighing, and swinging of arms. She was rude in order taking, offering no suggestions and when asked if she was ok, replied "it's going to take FOREVER to get away from this table". Everyone in party was well dressed, older classy people, but were treated as if beneath her. It was odd, because she had 2 tables of white patrons and was super chipper, taking photos for them, laughing joking, but every time she passed our table she glared at us. We got another waitress (Kashauna) who did a great job of piecing the orders together and trying to get us back on track. However, the food really was pretty mediocre. We did enjoy the fried flounder, the seafood pasta, and calamari. The side dish special was boiled potatoes with a thick (mayo like) ranch dressing, and what were assumed to be bacon bits, very disgusting. The 2 different chicken dishes ordered were both a frozen food service filet, therefore very tough and not seasoned at all. The kids pizza had next to no sauce and was hard and sized like a hockey puck. The fries had promise, as they were thick cut and somewhat seasoned, but were served ice cold. The other seafood dishes/appetizers (crab dip, crab balls, jumbo shrimp) were just ok, nothing special. We tried several times to speak with the manager who seemed to be hiding from us. We also observed 2 staffers making out with each other along the back wall of the dining area in full view of everyone. Staffing definitely seems to be an issue here. Members of family drove from over 2 hours away to come here, and can't recommend anyone else make the trip to middle of nowhere for mediocre food served by rude staff. My wife and I wanted to celebrate our first anniversary there, as my wife had never been to eat here. I originally was going to do the murder mystery dinner cruise, however it was cancelled due to not having enough people sign up for that time slot(ok), I then reserved a table inside, I also asked did they provide any other accommodations for anniversary occasions. "Sure, we can put flowers(Roses) on the table." Arrived, no roses, didn't even have any available.... service was not great, waitress forgot out salads that come with the entry, (the waitress, then made an executive decision) to put our salads in a to go bag. A few weeks ago my family and I (we were a large group) went to Suicide Bridge for my sister's birthday. It is her favorite restaurant, she has very specific dietary restrictions. Our server (I believe his name was Gary was extremely helpful to all of us, but especially to my sister. Even though I don't eat seafood I give this place five stars for the help and care that he gave our group. When we left my sister even said she wanted to get his work schedule so that she could be sure he was there to help guide her in her food selections for her next visit. read more

No masks worn in the kitchen! I placed a carry out order at this restaurant two days ago. When I arrived to pick it up, most of the order was ready, but they had forgotten one item. A very gracious host went into the kitchen to request my item. When the kitchen doors swing open NO ONE WAS WEARING A MASK!!!! I was watching 2 people who were preparing food without wearing masks and holding conversations with other people in the kitchen who also weren't wearing masks. When I asked the hostess why kitchen staff weren't wearing masks she replied, "it's like 100 degrees in there." What?!?!? As wait staff approached the hostess stand, they would immediately pull masks down and begin talking within 6 feet of one another until they noticed me standing on the customer side, then they would quickly pull the masks back up. When you goto chesapeake bay maryland you should get fresh crabs right? This place is very subpar. The best thing about ordering the all you can eat crab was that it came with all you can eat chicken and fried clams. The service was good but the receptionist down to the cashier were very unfriendly. No smiles, no thank you for coming, no goodnight. They need to learn some manners. Food was decent, fried chicken was the best, they put way too much old bay on the crabs. Fried clams were over fried. The steak was so so, not alot of flavor. This was my least favorite seafood restaurant. I ordered the Mahi special...it was very dry. They were willing to trade it in for something else. So I swapped it for the shrimp scampi...when I think of scampi, I think of a garlic butter sauce. This was some kind of strange reddish brown weird spiced sauce and the shrimp was overcooked. Four of the people in my group including me ordered the lb of snow crab legs which took 2 hours to come out. When we finally got our snow crabs they were ice cold. When we told the waitress she took them back, heated them up in the microwave and brought the same crabs back out. I know they were the same because they were laying on the plate the same way I sent them back with the one leg pulled off. When we told the manager he apologized said that he'd make it up to us and these are hard times right now. Hard times?? Who says that to a customer. It sounded like he was make excuses for our cold crabs, cold soup, cold fries, bacon cheese burger with no bacon, cold onion rings and burnt pizza. The crabs did not taste fresh. We had the scallops and they were great (although portions was small). We got a small baked potato that had several bad spots and onion rings that were severely overdone. Our waiter ignored us while he chatted with other customers. Other diners were offered bread but we were not. We tried this restaurant for the first time on Easter Sunday for their buffet. We made reservations for 5:30 (open till 8 pm). I was assured buffet items were replenished frequently but that wasn't the case; at least at that hour. The food was good but not great. Our wine was poured and then the bottle was removed (??) while we were at the buffet - they thought we had left. Odd. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Lovely view. We checked out the upstairs before leaving and I used the women's restroom-i was a bit dismayed at how dated/old they are, considering how busy the restaurant was. Also (grey) standing water in the sink and it seems they were using the sink to wash out their rag while cleaning tables. Ugh,if not a health department issue. Evidently the regular manager was out of town, but someone should correct this. May give them a second try with a regular menu. read more

We were a party of 9, went to the restaurant on May28 for memorial weekend celebration in the evening. Service was excellent, however, the food were lousy and not well prepared. 2 of us ordered the fry oysters, they were very small oysters, coated with large amount of batter, over fried and you hardly can taste the oysters. One of us ordered the crab cakes, very small portion, which is ok considering the food costs are so high nowadays,but they had no favor and he even left 1 of them on the plate. The seafood salad were extremely disappointing, scallops had no texture when you bite into them, mushy in the center, shrimps and crab meat had no taste to them, almost like they were previously frozen before. Fried shrimps entrees we're ok. Unfortunately, the best food on the table were French fries. I had heard so much about this restaurant, was so eager to try it, but unfortunately it was a big letdown. Will not go back again. I had also heard this restaurant is just under new management and this may be the reason.I understand food prices had gone up a lot, but patrons are more than willing to pay more for quality food. To the management, either do it right or don't do it at all. We come to your restaurant trying to have a good dining experience but unfortunately left with bad taste in their mouth. I have been going to Suicide Bridge Restaurant for years, and loved it so much, that it was the location for my wedding feast 13 years ago. I ate here this past weekend, twice, and the meal was as amazing as always. First, I highly recommend the Friday night buffet. The assortment of seafood available is impressive, and delicious. Their sides are always amazing as well. My only suggestion to them would be to expand the salad options. For menu items, the food is always top notch and delicious. The atmosphere and cozy yet fancy. It's truly an amazing restaurant that is otherwise very well hidden away in the middle of the Eastern Shore. If your travels take you through the Shore, I highly recommend visiting this fine establishment! read more

I had the opportunity to eat the buffet here with a group, and my meal was paid for by someone else. If I had paid for it, I would only give it 1 star. The service was good, but the food was unimpressive. Most of the seafood was fairly bland and/or fried. The non-seafood options were a little more flavorful, but wouldn't be worth getting the buffet for. You don't want to pay for the seafood buffet to only eat the non- seafood items. I can't imagine food ordered from the menu would be that much, if any, better. The restaurant seems to stay in business via a steady stream of tourists, large groups, and buses. W we stopped here for a weekday lunch. I ordered a bowl of lobster corn chowder, which the server told me was the special and that it was $7.95 a bowl. It came filled with potatoes and corn and only three very small pieces of lobster. I was charged $10.95 for the chowder. My wife ordered the crabcake lunch special which was $18.95. The crabcake was average she said but very small. It only came with a small side of slaw. We live more than an hour from the water and for $18.95 we can get a 6 to 8 ounce lump crab cake dinner, with rolls, unlimited salad and potato for $18.50. Our lunch here cost us $60. We have been coming to the suicide Bridge Restaurant for 20 years and they have just recently raised their prices so that they're no longer a value. Our waitress told us that business was slow. We can see why. I will not be coming back as they have really let us down, and ripped us off. read more

Beautiful setting right along the harbor. Mostly locals there. Really basic seafood, but the freshly caught stuff doesn't need much more than to be steamed. Delicious, romantic, great service. Our server was attentive, quick, offered suggestions without the DC pretentiousness that you so often find from your server. If you're looking for an escape from DC, this is a good one. I think some of the negative reviewers have been kind of tough on this place. We went on a not busy Saturday night and the service was very good. Our food was fine, if a bit overpriced, perhaps. Big Disappointment!! Had Rockfish for lunch which was great. Accompaniments Terrible: Coleslaw was a mush which appeared to be put thru a food processor; onion rings were taken from freezer in a clump, and put into fryer which then came out as a clump. My partner had a clam strip basket which had no pieces of clams, only breading, she had crab chowder which was total salt and she had French fries which were passable. The catsup served was almost empty and had probably been reused many times. Salt and pepper shakers needed a good cleaning. Waitress visited table several times to check on things but never removed empty dishes, i.e. bread, soup, salad, etc. The place was not at all busy and the other wait people were not in a rush to clean up tables that guest had left. read more

First all, the Kools Crab Cake are a 5-star winner. Go there for them. Otherwise, the decor is simple nautical decor. Salads and appetizers are fine. Some veggies are great; others are ordinary. Dinner was just great. Craig, seated us at at a table overlooking the water. Our dinner was great. I had oyster imperial and steak and cake. The ribeye was cooked perfect , and the crab cake was to die for. My wife got crab with cheese and it was cooked to perfection . Our guest ordered crap imperial. We met a friend at the Suicide Bridge Restaurant last night. She suggested it, having heard about it from a colleague and knowing our affinity for seafood places on the water. Also, the Suicide Bridge Restaurant just happened to be about halfway between Annapolis where she lives and Ocean City, where we are staying. We were not disappointed! It was worth the hour drive for her and for us. We sat in the downstairs bar for dinner and drinks. The downstairs bar is the only place to eat at the Suicide Bridge Restaurant where there is no view of the water but it was getting dark and the bar was cozy. I walked upstairs to the second floor lounge in time to snap this picture, last light of the evening. What a view! And hey, the food and drink are great! The bar tender was great, too. He knew all about the menu and gave good suggestions. It was a really good night. We'll be back. read more
