My family came to the 2024 Easter Buffet and we all were very disappointed in the food. We have been twice to the Thanksgiving Buffet's and they have always been great and the food was hot and flavorable. The roast beef tasted like cooked deli sliced beef, the ham was dry and burned, chicken was cold and very dry and the ribs were also cold. The seafood portion of the meal was good and that seemed to be the only thing that was good to eat. Even the creamy potato's and green beans were cold and not very flavorful. Couldn't eat the macaroni and cheese because it was so full of cheese you couldn't even get it off the spoon. I'm not sure what the problem was but the restaurant wasn't that crowded for the food to be so bad. read more

I just want to say how disappointed I was in my visit there last weekend. Went there to eat crabs in a quieter setting than the Old Mill. Was told crabs would take 20 min. Over an hour later still no crabs even tho the waitress kept saying they were coming. She even said she told manager on her own. Let that slide as things happen. However, we were seated in a room with a large drinking party that was so loud that you couldn't even here your conversation at your own table. The language was horrible. I asked if there was anything that could be done and the waitress said they may be leaving soon. That was not the case and the waitress knew we were upset. So our entire meal was ruined. $200 meal with tip because yes we still tipped. Received the check, no adjustments. So I asked for the manager. She obviously already knew before she came out to me. Didn't really seem like they cared. I realize the group was a money maker, but we weren't the only guests annoyed. They could have put them somewhere secluded or in the least offered to move us elsewhere. We weren't trying to get out of paying the bill, but just wanted a quieter area to eat. They weren't that busy that they couldn't have offered. Service in that respect was awful. Not going to pay that kind of money for that or an establishment that doesn't care. read more

I am adding this review because I want to make sure that people are aware that even though they say that they are all you can eat crabs they will do a switch on you when you get there and do it by the Dozen and I ended up paying $260 instead of the $80 that I would have paid for two people for all you can eat read more

This place is what I would call a family restaurant. One you would go to after Sunday church service, family get together, special day, casual gathering of friends or business colleagues, or just an intimate dinner with a date. On cool nites, I love to ask if I can be seated near the huge fireplace. Or near a window on the waterside of the restaurant, to watch the ducks and geese in the water. Service is great, food portions are generous and not at all pricey for a 4 star place. Don't be turned off by the name of the place, there's an interesting story behind the name. I have 1 idea you may want to try, when you get your menu, order a drink & possible appetizer before ordering your main meal. You don't get a lot of time between appetizer, salad, dinner & dessert. Went here on a whim with my kiddos and we were not disappointed !! We had the sampler starter which was amazing then we had salads .. good.. my daughter had the broiled soft shell crab and she tore it up!! Haha, I had the crab cakes, and they were the best ever. Not impressed at all. The view is great, but it is hard to enjoy with such mediocre food and terrible service. Ordered rare prime rib, the order took 45 minutes and our drinks sat empty for 30 of those. It had no pink at all and I had to wait 20 minutes to even ask for the horseradish sauce. When I told her it wasn't done right, but I didn't really want to wait another 40 minutes for something else she just said ok...no apology, no credit. That was only one entree. We entered the restaurant and smelled no food. It looked and felt exactly the same as it did 20 years ago and so did the menu. Our server was wonderful. A true professional. The food was a different story. The best part of our meal was the store bought warm buns with whipped butter and the side salad. All other food ordered was barely edible, bland and stuck in the 70s. I was looking for spiced apple ring to go with my side of apple sauce. I ordered a side of onion rings which I only ordered due to the lack of 21st century side choices. The onion rings came out looking more tired than the decor and the dusty chafing dishes lined up in the lobby. Its pointless to say anymore about the food beyond it's horrible and over priced! The highlight of our visit was the flashes of lightning and deluge of rain. It was like "a great wall of water!" The storm quickly passed and we we left forever scarred. Never to return. I am not sure why such poor ratings. Maybe it is the time of the year as crabs are in season now. I got the shrimp and crab and my husband got soft shell crabs. I think it is a little pricey but what isn't these days. The food was hot and excellent. The blue cheese dressing was fresh as was the salad. I've been going to SBR about once a month since I was born. I recommend Suicide for all things seafood- their crab dip, which is the best crab dip I've ever had, bacon wrapped scallops and seared tuna that melts in your mouth. My go to entree is the shrimp and scallop pasta, it is very rich so sometimes I go for something a little lighter. However, there is truly something on the menu for everyone; from kids, to seafood lovers and land lovers alike. I have attended and hosted several parties and events here and Craig is always accommodating and friendly. Warning, it does get packed at peak dinner times during the summer, so be prepared to have a long dinner (albeit, delicious) My most recent dinner at Suicide I had the scallop caprese special, pictured below. Nice seafood restaurant on the water at the base of the somewhat famous Suicide Bridge. Menu has lots of choices but it specializes in seafood. Wife got lunch crab cake sandwich with veggie variety side. Other sides can be cold slaw, French fries etc. I got the cream of crab bisque & 1/2 sandwich. I chose prime rib beef. Service was good, food came quickly piping hot & very tasty. Lots of moist tasty crab in the sandwich & my crab bisque was spot on delicious! The prime rib sandwich was tender & juicy! Easily one of the worst meals I have ever had. Bright spots: crab balls and oysters with crab imperial Unfortunately it went downhill from there. 1. The daily veggies (broccoli, zucchini, and squash) were mush and way over seasoned with lemon pepper. 2. Ordered a dozen top neck steamed clams. Took our waitress a half an hour or longer to let me know they were out. She instead got me 2 doz little necks and the very last clam I went to eat was full to the brim with mud. 3. Ordered the scallops and shrimp with pasta and a creamy sauce. I was brought shrimp, scallops, and pasta in soup form because there was so much sauce. Scooped out as much of the sauce as I could only to discover that the linguini was complete mush (my husband agreed). 4. The waitress never brought us any bread even though we saw other tables with bread. 5. $45 for a seafood platter with a piece of flounder the size of a square drink napkin, 2 shrimp, and a crab cake with a little bit of meat with an orange tint. The name and location are 5-stars for sure. Off the beaten path not touristy and a real locals hangout. Get there for sunset and enjoy the cute ducks chilling on shore. We came in off the boat around 430pm on a Saturday and was seated immediately. The drinks were amazing. We had crushes. Watermelon being my favorite. There were four of us. My wife loved the bacon wrapped scallops. The raw oysters were great and my daughter and I really enjoyed the blue crabs. What made the entire experience better was our waiter Juan. He was slammed busy but you wouldn't know it because he was so attentive and was on top of everything. Second time going and second time with Juan. He allows you to just enjoy yourself. read more

We've been going here for 20 years. We've really enjoyed the place in the past. However it seems today, the portions are not very generous. My relatives local less than 1 mile from restaurant used to go almost weekly to this restaurant stopped. We decided to do take out last night on calamari... $30 for 2 orders... and that gave the 5 of us about 4-5 small pieces each of which half was over cooked. It was also not very tasty... The manager Craig could learn some manners. I was born and raised here in Secretary and we visited here often. I since have moved away and came back to visit my parents tonight who are still locals here and frequent this restaurant 2-3 times a week. Mom had a bad night where the waitress asked how my mother's steak was. Mom was honest and said didn't like the cut so the waitress took it back. Mom told her no she didn't want to be the problem but the waitress said no problem. When the manager found out that it was due to the cut (a cut that was not tender.... not what she was paying for) was sent back he charged her for two steak dinners. Note she didn't ask for it to be returned and if she was charged two dinners where was the rest of the dinner they brought out to her. Tonight the manager Craig came by and Mom spoke up. She told him her feelings were hurt and that she didn't send back the steak. She wanted him to know she wasn't causing trouble but he said she sent back too many steaks. Now folks she comes in 2-3 times a week for over many many years. If a steak is under or over cooked and you are spending $$$$ on it wouldn't you expect a good steak? She didn't even send this one back. Craig told her that she will never be allowed to send another one back. This is ridiculous. If they don't know how to cook steaks why is the customer punished. What's worse is Mom likes the waitresses and the environment but no longer feels she is welcomed to eat there. A place they've supported for decades. If Mom was making a seen or was wrong then I'd get it but I watched how he spoke to her. No longer do I wish to support Suicide Bridge while Craig treats customers like this. Cook the steak right and this wouldn't be an issue. read more

Would have sent it back to the kitchen but didn't want to embarrass anyone at the table. Was here in the Spring and got a bad meal but thought to give the restaurant another chance. Will not go back again We have in years past always come here - food was great and prices were reasonable. But a restaurant that can not tell rock fish from frozen flounder needs some changes. Fun location... Interesting folklore about the bridge name - based on the recollection of aging towns folk. The story is on the back of the menue. We were seated in the 2nd floor bar area. The food was good but not great and the menue is quite dated. The furnishing are also dated and entire establishment seems to be stuck in the late 80s-early 90s. Despite the menue and furnishings being dated the prices were on the higherside. We had a total of 6 draft (yingling) beers, a bowl of soup, and a couple appetizers (1/2 lb of shrimp, and a sampler) for $65. This seemed high for the quality of what we ordered. We also had the misfortune of observing a female manager loudly verbally admonish the bar staff about the music station they had put on. Making a statement that it was too early in the evening for some station that was playing. She was standing at the bar and we were seated by the windows we should not have been able to hear her. This could have been accomplished discreetly and demonstrated a lack of maturity on the part of the manager. I have been going to Suicide for over 30 years, back when they had pick nick tables inside. It has just become a hangout for the locals that think they are elite with way over priced food. They are so many better options for seafood within 20 miles of this place. At one time, maybe between 1998 and 2009 this was place was decent. Once the prices started to skyrocket and the local snobs started taking over Friday night and Saturdays it has been terrible. If the good actually tasted good, it would be a different story but it is way over priced for the blandness of it. read more

Our family chose this restaurant to have an 80th birthday party, and had a party of 12, with age ranges from 2 to 80 on March 26th 2022. The atmosphere there is very nice, and the scenery is pleasant, and the staff was welcoming. Our server did a great job at making sure we had beverages, however it took us almost an hour after ordering almost 4 appetizers for her to start taking dinner orders, and it seemed like she planned that (she came over and said "ok let's get your dinner order in, your appetizers should be out shortly)... again mind you this was close to an hour after we had sat down and ordered the appetizers. Once the food was in, it took almost another hour for our dinner to arrive, which I can somewhat understand being that there were twelve of us... but the food quality for the price was just not there. At least 75% of us were not happy with the food, and at $26 dollars a plate for most, having overcooked seafood is just not expected (many ordered the seafood and pasta combinations or crab cakes). Additionally the presence of lots of crab shells to the point of having to request napkins to pull them out of our mouths was needed by many of us. Additionally, the person whom only ordered a soup and salad was not able to finish the crab soup because it was flavorless (the waitress offered to replace it, but the other soup option that night was also not on par). I understand that there are supply chain issues and labor shortages, but this was an over $400 dollar meal that was not edible to most of us, and took almost three hours of time total. I would highly recommend investigating the cooking process and serving process as this is not an acceptable experience for the monetary impact that it had. read more

Stopped by on a Wednesday evening while vacationing at the Hyatt Chesapeake. I was pleasantly surprised by the weight and seasoning of the crabs, and the Chesapeake Chicken was phenomenal. Best part of the experience was the wonderful service provided by our Waitress Allison. My party included 4 preteens who were starving after a day trip to Ocean City. Allison was extremely patient and very friendly. I would come back just for her...and the crabs :-) Thanks Allison! read more
